Chapter Twenty-Nine: Emily's Shining Prince

Emilie and and her best friend Claire are currently waiting inside St. Therese's gymnasium. Their classmates are still at the Locker Rooms to change into PE uniforms. Both of them were the first ones to finish changing, so that's why they are now waiting at the gym. While they are waiting, Emilie decided to tell Claire what happened between her and Jayden yesterday...
"Whaaat?! Jayden saw that "monthly stain" on your skirt? What did you do? And what did he do?" Claire started bombarding Emilie questions.
Emilie rolled her eyes heavenward, then puts her attention back to her bestfriend.
"I'm not yet finished with my story and you're overreacting like this. Just listen to me and let me finish first, okay?"
"Oh, sorry... So what happened next?" Claire encourages Emilie to continue.
Emilie lets out a big sigh before she continues on with her story.
"Well, he asked me if I'm alright and I said yes. His facial expression kinda looks weird at that time. He seems like blushing, and he can't look at me straight in the eye. But he still tried to explain that there was something on my skirt, and that's when I started panicking."
"Did he start teasing you? Or did he start laughing at you?" Claire did a follow-up question.
"No, not at all! He actually gave me his varsity jacket. He wrapped it around my waist and strangely, he looks quite worried and concerned." Emilie tries to remember everything that happened.
"Oh my gosh! Jayden's such a gentleman! There's no wonder why many girls go crazy over him. He's handsome, smart, athletic and a gentleman!" Claire gushes over Jayden.
Emilie's eyebrow raised a fraction after she heard Claire's remark. Seeing her being excited about Jayden annoys her a little.
"Why are you being like this? I thought you've got a huge crush with Andrew?"
Claire was about to open her mouth to say something but she wasn't able to do so when they heard some footsteps coming inside the gymnasium, and they heard some voices.
Emilie knew right away that it was Jayden and Andrew. She quickly pulled Claire and she decided to hide at the back of the wooden podium which is big enough for the two of them.
"What are you doing? Why are we hiding like this?" Claire whispered in surprise.
"Shh! Just be quiet!" Emilie hissed at her.
Claire decided to shut up, as she fully trust her friend, and she just decided to go with the flow.
"---By the way, where's your varsity jacket, Jayden?" they heard Andrew asking Jayden.
"Oh, my jacket was torn a bit, so I had someone repair it first." Jayden responded.
"Why do I have this feeling that I don't believe you? Dude, you treasure that varsity jacket so much. It's a Captain's jacket and you've been dreaming to have that since our freshman year." Andrew spoke again.
"You're make it look like a serious thing! I just asked someone to fix it for me, and I'll be able to wear it again so you don't have to worry top much, alright?" Jayden reassures his best friend.
"Okay, if that's what you say..." Andrew said in return.
Emilie started feeling guilty after she heard Jayden and Andrew's conversation. Jayden didn't tell Andrew the truth, as he is just trying to protect her secret. And his gesture really touched her heart...
After a few minutes, most of their classmates started coming inside the gymnasium and that's when Emilie and Claire decided to discreetly join them. And much to Emilie's relief, no one seemed to notice them.
Afterwards, their PE teacher started their Physical Education class.
While their teacher is talking, Emilie took the chance to look at Jayden, while thinking of how to thank him...
==============================
That evening.
Emilie and her sisters, Emelia and Emma are just chilling at the living room, while watching a movie. They already finished their homework and had an early dinner. Their parents decided to sleep early, so the three of them decided to hangout at the living room until bed time.
"---Hello, girls. Here's your freshly-washed and dried clothes, so please put them in your own cabinets. By the way, whose jacket is this?" one of their house help asked, while holding a freshly-washed and folded blue jacket.
And before Emilie can react and say something, her sisters were quick enough to look at the jacket.
"Oh, look! It's Jayden's varsity jacket!" Emelia exclaimed, while smiling at Emilie in a teasing manner.
"And why did Jayden's jacket "magically" appeared here?" Emma inquired, with a smile on her face.
Emilie wants to erase the silly smiles on her sister's faces, while they are both staring at her.
"Yes, that's Jayden's jacket and I borrowed in from him. And here's what happened... I had my monthly period, and it stained my school uniform skirt. Jayden was kind enough to let me borrow his jacket to cover the stain. And that was it." she relayed to her sisters.
Emilia and Emma's eyes sparkled in amusement.
"Wow, that's so romantic!" Emilia stated.
"Jayden's really something, huh?" Emma said in return.
"Wait, it's not what you think it is! There's nothing romantic about it!" Emilie insisted.
"How are you going to thank Jayden?"
Emilie groaned inwardly because her sisters doesn't seem to listen to her. There's no use to explain to them that there's nothing romantic going on between her and Jayden.
"I'm planning to just give back his jacket and say thank you to him." she responded.
"What? You're not going to do anything special? Like baking a cookies or a cake for him?" Emma unbelievably asks her.
"Well, what do you expect of our dear sister? She and Jayden are mortal enemies so it's normal for them to be cold towards each other." Emilia said, while shrugging in return.
"You know what, I've had enough of this conversation! I'm gonna go up to my room now to have a peaceful time for myself. Goodnight!" Emilie stated, while feeling annoyed and frustrated.
She quickly grabbed the jacket, and she grimly marches up the stairs to go to her room.
