Chapter Fifty-Five: From Pretending To Being A Real Girlfriend
Emma sat on one of the sofas inside the hotel lobby. She looked at her wristwatch and she realized that she arrived ten minutes earlier than the expected time. She decided to wait patiently at the lobby. Five minutes have passed when she suddenly heard someone calling her name. "Are you Miss Emma Albreicht?" Emma turns around, and she saw a man smiling at her. "Y-Yes, I am." she responded. "Hello, I'm Robert, and I'm Mr. Dorian Hay's secretary. He's ready to meet you in his room." the man politely announced. "Hello, Sir. Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to interview Mr. Hays." Emma thanks him. "Well, Mr. Hays specifically asked for your company to do an exclusive interview on him. And he's really looking forward on having this interview with you..." Robert responded. "Wow, it's such an honor to be handpicked by him." Emma happily said. "Please follow me, Miss Albreicht. Mr. Hays have been waiting for you." Robert suddenly stated, while leading the way... Emma excitedly walks behind him. Robert escorted her from the elevator until they reached the 16th floor. Emma was impressed with the grandiose design of the hotel's VIP floor. This floor is only reserved for the hotel's rich clients. They both walked for a few minutes, until Robert stopped at a certain door. He knocked three times, and then, he looked at Emma again. "Please go ahead." Robert stated, as he opens the door for her. As soon as Emma enters the room, she saw a lean and tall man standing by the glass wall... She couldn't really see his face, and she can only see his back... "Good morning, Mr. Dorian Hays. I'm from La Belle Magazine. My name is Emma Albreicht and I'm going to conduct an interview with you today..." Emma politely introduces herself. She almost forgot how to breath when she finally saw the man's face. She's been hopelessy wishing and hoping to see that face again after so many years... met the man in front of her... "Hello, Emma. We've met again." it was none other than Darren Hayes, who was gently smiling back at her. 'What are you doing here? And where have you been, Darren?" Emma bombarded him with questions. She's having this urge to hug him tightly, and never let him go, but she's just trying her best to control herself. She's having mixed emotions right now... "Please sit down Emma, and I will answer all of your questions." Darren spoke again. Emma took a seat, not taking her eyes of him. She fears that this is all just a dream, and with just one blink, Darren will be gone... When they both sat down, Darrenwas the first to break the silence between them. "So... What do you want to ask me first?" "W-Where have you been?" Emma asked, almost in a whisper. Darren took a deep breath before he spoke again. "I've been living in California for the passed years, Emma. I left not because of you, but the main reason for my departure is because I was accepted at my dream University there." he started to explain. "Oh... I think you've made the right decision." Emma nodded in return. "You also asked me awhile ago what am I doing here... Well, let me answer that question as well. You see, I want to give this book to the woman who has been on my mind and my heart for the passed two years. I want to make her fall in love with me for real, and not just for reel." Darren explained, while giving Emma hardbound book. Emma gasped softly when she read the title of the book. "My Pretend Girlfriend, Emma." Darren wrote this book for her! "I wrote all of my feelings there for you, Emma. I love you so much... And I want to continue where we left off. I don't want you to be my pretend girlfriend anymore, Emma. I want you to be my girlfriend. And it's for real this time around." he finally made his confession that he's been wanting to do back in Palmridge High. "I've wasted so many years, and spent lonely nights without you. And I don't want to waste any more seconds, minutes, hours and so on... So my answer is yes, I will be happy and honored to be your real girlfriend!" Emma's been dreaming this scene for a very long time, and now it's finally happening. The couple shared butterfly kisses that both took their breath away. They are finally a real couple, and there's no going back now! ============================== Elijah tightly holds the bow string as he tries to concentrate and focus his attention towards the mark. You're more than ready for the upcoming Olympics. But don't be too confident, my boy. You still need to give your 101% best in our practice and training, is that clear?" Coach Liam Anderson relayed. Liam Anderson has been his Archery coach since he was ten years old. He was also a former Olympian, and competed with numerous Archery competition. "Crystal clear, Coach." Liam replies, with a smile. After another hour of training, their session is finally over. His coach already went somewhere else, and Liam on the other hand went to the shower room. It has been more than fifteen years since she came back to her home country since she got married and became a mother. Looking at the invitation, she can't help herself but to feel excited...
