Julia has been staring at her engagement ring for a few minutes now. The diamond sparkled against the light, and it looks beautiful so beautiful.
After David's proposal, he told her that he should talk to her parents as soon as possible, and talk about their upcoming wedding.
She feels like everything is going so fast, and she needs time for herself to breathe. 
Julia snaps out from her reverie when her mobile phone rang again. The caller is none other than her beloved older brother.
"Hey, Juls. Are you busy right now?" James asked from the other line.
"No, my work is over and I'm just relaxing at home. By the way, are you really coming home?" Julia's excited for her brother's homecoming. 
"Yeah, 100% sure. My boss already approved my leave request." answered James.
"That's great! I actually need to talk to you and I need to tell something to Mommy and Daddy." Julia informed him.
"Can't you say it to me over the phone?" James curiously asked her.
"It's better to say it to you face to face." Julia insisted.
Julia and James continued chatting over the phone for half an hour, and then James finally said goodbye because he has to go back to work.
Once the call ended, Julia lets out a helpless sigh. Just the thought of telling her brother and their parents that she's about to get married makes her feel nervous and restless...

The night of James' homecoming party has finally arrived. The party is being held at the wide garden of their parents' house. 
They invited most of their childhood friends, and the event ended up being a reunion party.
Julia and David came to the party together, and they bought a cake and a bottle of champagne for James.
 When the newly-engaged couple went inside the house, they found James picking some food at the buffet table.
"And here's the main character of the party, eating all the food as if he hasn't eaten for years..." Julia started teasing her older brother.
"I'm just simply hungry, okay?" James shot back, while grinning from ear to ear.
"Well, introductions are in order. James, I want you to meet David Montserrat, my boyfriend, and he's now my fiance'." Julia nervously introduces David to her brother.
"Nice to meet you, David. Congratulations for taming my dear little sister..." James said, while looking amused.
"It was very challenging, but I did it. A pleasure to meet you, James. Julia told me so much about you." David smilingly responded, while answering James' handshake.
Julia heaved a sight of relief when she saw James and David chatting with each other and they looked comfortable with each other...

Everyone's enjoying the party as the night deepens. Julia is currently having an enjoyable chat with her childhood friends. At the same time, she had too much drink already. 
The music suddenly stops playing.
Julia smiled when she saw her brother standing onstage while holding a microphone. 
"A big thanks to everyone who came to the party. It's feels great to be back home again, and since I'm back for Christmas and New Year, I'm looking forward on celebrating the holidays with my family and dear friends. I am also very excited to spend some time with my best buddy, and it's none other than my best friend, Van! Please give him a round of applause, everyone!"
Julia almost forgot how to breathe when she saw Van walking towards the mini-stage, and now, he's standing beside James.
Her eyes were all fixed on Van's face, and her heart started beating like crazy. 
After twelve years, her first love came back to her life again. And his effect on her is really overwhelming, and she doesn't have any idea on how to react in this awkward situation...
"Thank you for welcoming my best friend, everyone. I also have another important announcement to make.. As you all know, I have a younger sister who has been a pain in the neck while we were growing up... But on a serious note, my sister has finally found her own happiness, and I am so thrilled to tell you an exciting news. My baby sister Julia is finally engaged to a nice man, which is Mr. David Montserrat. Everyone, let's all raise pur glasses for a toast and let's congratulate David and Julia on their engagement!" James finally announced the good news.
At the same time, Van's smile vanished from his lips. His eyes quickly looks for Julia. He saw her smiling at all the guests, while she's holding hands with another man, who's obviously her future husband...
"David and Julia, please come onstage and give a speech." James encourages the newly-engaged couple.
David gently clasps Julia's hand as they are walking their way towards the mini-stage.
At the same time, Julia feels like a robot, just going with the flow, while feeling overwhelmingly confused.
She caught Van looking back at her, and they stared at each other for a few seconds. Afterwards, she was the first one to look away.
David was the first one to speak, thanking everyone for congratulating them on their engagement.
Julia wanted to run away from all of the people, including Van, and just lock herself inside her room.
She's too shock to say anything. Because of Van's sudden presence, she feels like she's not being herself.
She feels dizzy right now, and she doesn't have any idea if her dizzying spell is caused by champagne, or was it due of shock because Van suddenly appeared in her life after twelve long years...
Julia snaps out from her reverie when she heard her older brother's voice again.
"Everyone, thank you for congratulating my dear sister and her future husband. Your warm greeting means a lot to them and to our family..." James sincerely thanks all of the party guests.
Julia doesn't know what happened next. The only thing she knows is Van is now nowhere to be found...
