Chapter Fifty-Seven: The Pure Maria

Later that evening.
It was already late at night but Mariya still couldn't sleep. Her previous conversation with the Mother Supervisor keeps on replaying on her mind.
"This is a once in a lifetime chance for you to find your father again..." the old nun told her earlier.
Mariya carefully got up from her bed. Since she's having a hard time sleeping, she decided to take an evening walk to breathe in some fresh air and to clear her head...
After a few minutes, Mariya is now at the orphanage's playground, and she's currently sitting on a swing while admiring the round, bright moon...
"What do you think I should do, Mama? Would you like me to look for my father, or just forget about him and move on with my life." she wondered aloud, while looking at the moon.
Mariya tried to listen to her head and her heart. Deep inside her heart, she still wishes to see her father face-to-face. She also wanted to ask why did he leave them and why he didn't try to find her after so many years...
She won't be able to get the answers to all of her questions if she doesn't make a move of finding her father.
And because of that, Mariya finally made a decision that will change her life...

Tokyo, Japan.
Kei gave one last goodbye wave to the children before he drives his car away.
He decided to visit the Angel Voices Foster Home, where he is one of the supporter of the said orphanage.
He is a member of an all-men singing group which is called MORSE. And because of his work as an idol and entertainer in Japan, he needs to protect the people and most especially the children from the media people, that's why he's the fact the he usually visits the orphanage as he wants to protect everyone at Angel Voices.
The orphanage is just relatively new, and the construction was fully completed last year. The Angel Voice is being managed by Mr. Ken Onodera, who's a very dear friend to him, along with his wife, Auntie Francia.
His train of thoughts stopped in a halt when he heard his mobile phone ringing. He answered the call right away when he saw his Manager's name on the caller screen.
"Hello?"
"Where are you now, Kei? I would like to remind you that you have a magazine interview today with the rest of MORSE's member." his Manager, Shin, informs him.
"Sorry, I'm on my way now." Kei sincerely apologizes.
"Alright, let's meet at the location." Shin responded, then he ended the call.
After that conversation with Shin, Kei decided to take a shortcut so that he can arrive to his destination at an earlier time...
================================
Manila, Philippines.
Mariya has been pacing back and forth, while looking anxious.
"Please just sit down and try to relax, Mariya. You're making me dizzy." the Mother Superior gently reprimanded Mariya.
"I'm sorry, Mother. I'm just really nervous." Mariya apologizes in return, as she took a seat and tries to calm herself down.
Today is the day that they are going to meet the old nun's close friend, who happens to own an orphanage in Japan and who's looking for staff to help her at the newly-built orphanage.
That friend also promised that she will help them find her father.
Mariya almost jumped out from her seat because of surprise when they heard someone knocking at the door.
"Please come in." the Mother Superior invited the visitor inside.
As soon as the door opens, Mariya saw a middle-aged woman entering the room.
"She's my dear friend from Japan, Mariya. She's also the owner of Angel Voices Orphanage. I want you to meet Mrs. Francia Onodera." the old man introduces their visitor.
"Nice to meet you, Mariya." the visitor smilingly greeted her.
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Mrs. Onodera."
"We don't have to be formal, Mariya. You can just call me Auntie Francia. I also want to thank you for agreeing to come with me to Japan and help me at the orphanage." Aunt Francia spoke again.
"I would be more than happy to help the orphanage and the children." Mariya shyly responded.
"The Mother Superior also told me that you're searching for your biological father, which is a Japanese citizen. We will do everything and anything we can to help you find your father, Mariya. That's a promise." Auntie Francia gives her a reassurance, much to Mariya's relief.
"Thank you very much, Aunt Francia." Mariya sincerely thanks her. She feels that she's almost one step closer of finally meeting her father after so many years.
The three of them discussed some important things about her departure to Japan. Auntie Francia promised that she will take care of Mariya's visa as soon as possible, and they talked about many other things...
It was already late in the evening when their meeting finally finished. The Mother Superior and Mariya are now walking outside the parking lot, along with Auntie Francia.
"Thank you again for everything, Mother Superior and Mariya. I'll take care of your visa tomorrow, and I'll come back in a few days to let you know if we're good to go." the old woman informs them.
"And thank you very much for your donation for the children here at Sunshine Orphanage, Francia. It will surely help us a lot. May God Bless you.” the Mother Superior sincerely wishes her well.
When Auntie Francia finally drives away, the old nun decided to ask Mariya again.
"Are you sure about your decision, Mariya?"
"Yes, Mother. I have this feeling that my late mother would like me to find my father as well." Mariya related.
"Well, you're old enough to decide what you want to do in life, dear. Well, it's getting late. We should hit the sack and call it a day..." the Mother Superior stated, while feeling tired and weary.
"Yes. Goodnight, Mother Superior." Mariya smilingly said goodnight.
"Goodnight, Mariya." the Mother Superior said in return.
