Few days have passed after James told her the truth, Julia decided to move forward with her life. She decided to become busy with her work. But she still thinks about Van every now and then. She hasn't seen Van since her brother's homecoming party and since they had that "emotional" talk... Her train of thoughts stop in a halt when the elevator door finally opens. She's already at the 16th floor, where the Montserrat Advertising Agency is situated. She greeted her colleagues with a smile as she's making her way to her office desk. As soon as she sat down, she immediately saw a post-it on her table. "Report to my office immediately - David." She glanced around and took a quick look at David's mini-office. Through the glass walls, she saw him talking to someone over the phone. Julia grabbed her notebook and pen, then afterwards, she made her way to David's office space. As soon as she enters her office, David greeted her with a smile. "My mother's getting overexcited about the wedding. She's actually asking about the specific details of our wedding preparations." David announced, while shaking his head in an amused manner. Julia was caught in surprise, then she felt guilty afterwards. She completely forgot about the wedding preparations! "---By the way, the wedding planner wants to talk to us over lunch. She's going to ask for the list of our principal and secondary sponsors, bride's maids and groom's men abd many other things. By the way, here's my list." David was getting really excited about the wedding. Julia reluctantly accepted the list. She pretended to read it, but her mind is flying elsewhere. "What do you think?" David suddenly asked her. "I think it's okay." Julia forces herself to answer. David was about to say something when but his office phone suddenly rang. Julia heaved a sigh of relief because she's still not ready to talk about the wedding preparations. Julia wrote something on her notebook and showed it to David. "I'll go back to work." David nodded in return, then afterwards, Julia went back to her office desk. She fell into a deep thought, as she's trying to assess everything. David has everything that a woman would like to be as a husband. David is a very well educated, has a good family and career background, and not to mention, extremely rich. But if she's going to listen to what her heart is saying... Julia shook her head wildly, as if shaking all her thoughts. She needs to think about everything carefully, before taking any actions... ================================= Later that evening. Julia is having a heart-to-heart talk with her older brother, James. She finally confessed what she's been thinking and feeling about her upcoming wedding with David... "I don't want to hurt Ken. And at the same time, my heart is telling me a different thing." Julia relayed, while looking weary and confused. "I'm not an expert when it comes to love, but would you listen to what I'm about to say?" James spoke. Julia nodded as an answer. "I know how you feel, Julia. But if you don't make a decision now, more people will be hurt. Do you want that to happen?" James asks her. Yuri shook her head in response. "It's time to make your own decision. The sooner the better. If you wait any longer, you're torturing yourself and them as well." James gave her another piece of advice. "I really don't know how and when to start, James." "Just be true to yourself. And do what you think will make you happier. It might be a selfish decision but that's a better path for you." James gently enunciated. Julia sniffs, as she's trying her best not to cry out loud. "Whatever your decision is, I'll be on your back. That's a promise." James made a promise to his sister. "This may sound cheesy but thank you for being here with me, James." Julia sincerely thanked her brother. “Anytime brat. Anytime.” James smilingly responded. ============================ Julia is in her room, as she's trying to do general cleaning. She lets out a nostalgic smile when she saw her high school backpack, loaded with old things that she used to have back in her schooling days... She saw her very old scrapbook. She blew out all of the dust on it, then she started to open the pages one by one... She saw the very first candy that was given to her by Van. She also saw her the petal of flowers from her corsage that she wore during her junior and senior prom... Julia lets out a wistful smile when she saw the limited edition Hello Kitty ballpen. She remembered that all of her classmates got their own Hello Kitty pens, and she's the only one who didn't have one. The entry was dated March 3,1998. It was the day when Van announced to their class that he's going to graduate soon and transfer to the big city to study at a prestigious University there... And that day made her really sad.
