Tears suddenly filled her vision. Her body automatically acted on its own. She grabbed her mobile phone and dialled Van's contact number, which was given to her by James few days ago... With trembling hands, she pushed the "Call" button. She heard ten rings, but the call went straight up the voice message. "Hi, this is Van. I'm not available right now, so please leave a message after the tone." Julia decided to end the call, while feeling helpless. "Oh, Hiro..." she wearily whispered, while silently crying. ============================= The next day. Julia is nervously waiting at a certain restaurant. It's she and David's favorite restaurant. She decided to meet David there to tell him something really important. After a few minutes, she saw David entering the restaurant and now he's making his way towards her. She smiled at him, eventhough she's feeling nervous as hell. "I'm sorry if I'm a little late, babe. I just finished a meeting with one of clients." David quickly apologizes, as soon as he sat down. "No worries." Julia nervously answered. "Shall we order then?" David suddenly suggested. "H-Huh? Okay..." Julia responded, while looking absent-minded. "Hey, what's the matter, babe? And why do you look so tensed?" David finally notices. "I want to tell you something, but I don't know how to start, David." Julia forces herself to speak. "Just tell me everything, babe. I'm going to listen to everything that you want to say." David encourages her to speak. "David, I am sincerely sorry about everything. I can't go on with this wedding." Julia finally went straight to the point. "Why?" David asked, but there was a hint of pain and sadness in his voice. "Believe me, David. I genuinely loved you for four years, and I saw myself getting married and having a happy family with you... But something happened, and it's entirely my fault. I fell inlove with someone else and I am confessing to you right now because I don't want to hurt and fool you for the rest of our lives…” Julia started to explain. "Just like what I thought." David suddenly enunciated. Julia tared at him, while looking confused. "W-What do you mean?" she asked, while looking surprised. "I was able to get a hint at the night of your brother's homecoming party." David relayed. "I-I don't understand." Julia said, almost in a whisper. "You were acting different when you saw Van. I instantly saw it, and you can't deny the fact that you have special feelings for him." David pronounced. "I really don't know how to apologize to you, David." Julia feels really sorry for David. "If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time here. Come, give me your left hand." David mysteriously stated. "What?" Julia is getting more and more confused. "Just do it." David smilingly encourages her. Julia stretches out her left hand towards David. He then pulled the diamond engagement ring from her finger. "You're now free to choose your own happiness, Julia." he said. "I-I don't know what to say..." that was all Julia can say. "Thank me later. And don't forget to invite me to your future wedding." David jokingly stated. "Thank you so much, David. I will never ever forget your kindness to me." Julia thanks him, as she gives him a gentle kiss on his cheek. "You go and get him, Julia!" Julia nodded as an answer. Afterwards, she hurriedly walks out from the restaurant, to chase the man that she really loves... =========================== At a certain remote area. Julia has been catching her breath because she's been walking with her guide for almost three hours or so. She's tired and weary, and not to mention, starving as well. But she has to endure and continue walking because the guide warned her that it's going to rain soon, and it will be much harder for them to get to their destination. "Just one more hour and we'll get to our destination." the local female guide informs her. Julia took a deep breath and she decided to continue walking again. Just one more hour, and she'll be able to see Van again. =========================== After an hour, Julia and her guide finally reached a very small remote town which is situated on the side of the mountain. The local residents gave her curious looks. "While you're in our little town, you should stay in our house, Julia. You're very much welcome there." the female local guide suggested. "Thank you very much----!" Julia wasn't able to finish what she's about to say when she heard the children calling Van's name... "Goodbye, Teacher Van. See you again tomorrow!" the kids said in unison. Julia held her breath in suspense as she glances at the nearby small classroom which is made from wood. And just like in a slow motion movie, her eyes instantly stared at a familiar figure who was standing at the doorway... "Don't forget to do your homework, okay?" Julia took few tentative steps towards Van, who was still busy talking with his students. She can clearly see the happiness on Van's face while he's talking with the children. This is what she really wants, to be a teacher, and to support the children through education. And finally, her and Van's eyes met. She can see the surprised expression on his face while he's staring back at her. Julia can't help herself but to run towards him and hugged him as if there's no tomorrow. Heaven knows how she missed him! "W-What are you doing here? How did you----?" Van tries to speak, but Julia interrupted him. "James told me everything, and he told me that you're here." Julia replied. "You're already engaged to be married, Julia. Don't ruin everything just because of me." Van firmly stated. Julia suddenly felt a pang of disappointment when she heard Van's remark. She wasn't expecting this kind of subtle rejection from him. Well, she will not give up without a good fight. "You don't mean that, Van. I know you're in love with me. I can feel it and see it." insisted Julia. "Damn it, Julia! Don't play games with me!" Van groaned inwardly. "Listen to me carefully, Van. I'm swallowing all of my pride and dignity to just get here and talk to you, and tell you how I really feel." Julia started with her speech. Van curiously frowned but he didn't dare to speak. Julia took a deep calming breath, then she mustered all her courage to speak again. "Will you marry me, Van?" Van's eyes widened in shock after he heard Julia's marriage proposal. There was a moment of silence between them. "Oh, please Van! Are you going to answer me or not?" Julia is getting impatient now. Then, without a warning, Van locked Julia's lips with his own lips. He gave her a soft, lingering kiss, and it never felt so good... After a few minutes, Van ended the kiss. "You should know my answer from that kiss." he smilingly responded. Julia smiled in return, as her eyes sparkled with so much love and happiness. "How about having our wedding ceremony here? At this very spot?" Van suddenly suggested. "My wedding gown will get covered with mud, Van... But come to think of it, this would be a perfect place for us to promise our love for each other. And I also see this place where we'll be celebrating our silver, diamond, and golden our anniversary in the future." she enunciated. "I like that." Van nodded in agreement. They shared another loving and pure kiss again as they enjoy their time together under the rain...
