I made sure she followed suit behind me as we got to a spot more quite to have an intense conversation, we can still see the other students going on their respective ways, some making their way home while some were hanging around with friends, most of them might still be talking about me, I didn't get to hear what the rumors were all about and I never cared, better not knowing than having to have in mind what exactly people were talking about you which will end up getting in into thinking about something related to that.
     “ You said something about Brian's decision which I still find complicated to understand, I never knew you were actually in support of his actions of going to school unregistered, tell me about that in more ways I can possibly understand ”.
My hands were rested right inside my trouser pockets, standing tall and waiting for her to begin with her explanation, I am not actually trying to pry into something that doesn't concern me just because I knew more about them, but because I believe that Rose here is under my care, even Brian too might have made that foolish decision of running away because he knew that I am here and always will be here for his twin sister.
     “ I knew Brian never actually gave you a proper explanation concerning his reasons from jumping into different schools...... He doesn't like to be pitied for any reason of sort from anybody, even if it was our late parents, he wouldn't accept all this sympathetic stuff, he believes that it makes him feel weak or that his personal efforts are not enough,...... I have been learning from his school works ever since the death of our parents, we knew that we couldn't afford to continue going to school, so he decided that I take over the family business, while he goes to school unregistered, promising that he will try his best to learn as much as he can, so that I could get to learn from his daily effort, that's how it has always been until now, I already knew he was diagnosed with cancer, and I have always been prepared for this, knowing that I don't have a long period of time of having him around, so I made my best to get in his flow of behavior, where I happened to learn that this world is easy to live when you gets to accept what reality offers to you ”.
I placed my arm around her shoulder, bringing her close to me as a teardrop landed on the back of her hand which rested on her laps. Now, I have happened to learn a few more things, concerning losing Brian, though he might still be out there, Rose have accepted the reality, and knowing that Brian is a free spirited person, she knows that Brian really loves her, he probably decided to leave because he doesn't want Rose to picture him on his weakest, him knowing that Rose sees him as her source of strength to hang on with life challenges.
     Almost getting to Steve's car, I saw him leaning by his door, his expression written with confusion while standing in front of him was Deborah who had a displeasing look, trying hard to make Steve view something they're definitely talking about from her own point of view. Inside of me, I am yearning to go give her the listening ear that she needs, but no, that's not going to happen, I am his friend, but I don't have to play a role of a boyfriend, I don't have to offer her a listening ear where she would take what she doesn't deserve for free, best both of them solve their issues, where I would definitely be out of their picture. Truth be told, Deborah doesn't deserve me, I have never been seen as a boyfriend figure all through my time with her, so no need for her getting a boyfriend attention from me.

I greeted her and shook Steve, before I made my way into the car, taking Rose with me, we seated at the back of the car, Rose seems to be waiting for me to bring something up, but I have other thing in mind, I am hoping and yearning for Deborah's attention, I want her to approach me, I want her to beg me the way she's doing for Steve right now, I have that feeling wishing that I am Steve right now. I felt her hand on top of mine, turning around towards her, her eyes were on me, giving me that intense look that makes me feel quite nervous, she released my hand, her hand placed on my shoulder as she pulled me forward, gentle but firm, as her lips landed on mine, oh my God!!, What did she just do?.
