Chapter 57 Moonlight dinner

Xingyue's POV
It was overwhelming seeing him in a black suit, holding a red rose in one hand.
My eyes were getting blurred as tears started building up.
Still, my heart could see him clearly.
It was like two souls connected without any string. The feelings poured into our tiny wedding were now our strongest point.
He put the guitar on one side and approached me slowly.
I noticed nervousness on his face, which made me chuckle. We were together for so long, yet it felt like he was proposing to me for marriage.
"Xingyue." He called my name, and his voice felt like heaven to my ears. I waited for him to continue. Words froze in my mouth.
I wanted to utter, but my heart silently desired to remain quiet and hear him out.
He sat down on his knees. Everyone stared at us with an amusing look.
"At first, when I met you, I found someone annoying as hell. I was like, the person who'll marry this girl would be so unlucky. Then I secretly became close to you that if I did not see you even for a day, the day seemed incomplete."
Pausing, he added. "I felt your every touch so deep. My heart had known no bottom, and it was sinking in your pure love. I tried so hard but lost myself when it was about you. Xingyue, thank you for completing me. And..."
His warmest smile was irresistible to me. Out of the blue, I heard people counting numbers.
"3! 2! 1!"
Suddenly, we heard a booming sound and the sky was shining.

Author's POV
A sky full of fireworks but he was still staring at her. The sparkle in her eyes beamed over his smile.
Amused, she watched the sky lightening up only for her.
"Xingyue..." He stood up, gaining her attention. The smile he flashed fluttered her heart. "Happy Birthday, Xingyue! I love you."
Before she could even react, he planted a kiss on her forehead. Frowned, she extended her hands and embraced him.
No matter how chilly the weather was, his warmth kept her warm. She giggled, throwing her head over his chest. "I love you too, Xi Song."
He, too, was not left behind and threw himself into her tiny shoulders.
By telling her, he let himself feel lighter. The storms aroused in his heart now settled in the sea of love.
There were outbursts of tenderness around filled with peace.
He thought everything would be fine now, but was this confession enough to stop the damage he caused already?
Was their life going to be smooth like butter, or were there still holes left in the path?
....................................................
Getting up from a sobering dream, Xia Na heaved. Her stomach clenched in pain.
She felt a sudden urge as she ran toward the bathroom.
She rested her hands over the washbasin. The vomit pooled beneath her.
Sweat dripped down through her greasy brown hair. It was the third day of this continuous mess.
She felt as if something was odd with her. Wiping the last sick away from the curve of her lips, she decided to visit the doctor.
........................................................
"We're over Xi Song. Whiten truth can't be denied."
Tears building up in his eyes, covered with sweat across his forehead, he kneeled and begged. "Xingyue, please don't go. Grant me one last chance, please! I can't live without you."
Even his begs were heard from one side and went unheard from the other.
Recklessly getting broken, he woke up while being left behind.
He heaved, opening his widened eyes. "Was it a dream?"
Lifting his chest, he pulled the covers up, causing a cold gust of air to make him feel like he sat in a bathtub full of ice.
There was a sense of dizziness and confusion that pulled him into reality.
He glanced beside him, but Xingyue wasn't there. Out of fear, he stood up and called her name.
"Xingyue? Xingyue?"
Searching around the room, he moved towards the bathroom. That's when the handle twisted.
She appeared wrapped in a white bathrobe with water falling off her wet hair.
Her freshness made him simp over her. He paused for a while as the whole world stopped. His eyes were too busy checking his lady that even his anxiety vanished away.
She took a towel in hand and brushed against her hair. When she turned to wipe the hair on the front side, drops of water fell on Xi Song's face.
Yet, he seemed carefree in her beauty. She noticed him with a tiny, uplifted smirk on her lips.
"Will you stop checking me out as if I'm your patient, Dr. Song?"
"That's only reserved for my snatched wife, Mrs. Song. No one is lucky
enough to make me look at them in this way."
Pressing her bottom lip, she approached him. It was all romance in the air. She wrapped her hands around his neck unhurriedly, seducing him.
She was hard to get.
It was not an easy task to steal a kiss away from her.
But he mastered this game. Or say he was the only one who could play this game.
It revived their memories of last night, the hot tub sensation of two witnessed by the moon and the stars.
If she was fire, he added soul into it, his kisses, her artistic neck.
Then, they went down for a while just to play one more round.
*Flashback*
Xingyue's POV
Evening fell, time passed, and we were still fetching each other.
After capturing the moments spent under the sky lit by the fireworks, we returned to the hotel.
I unlocked the room and went inside.
But he held my hand and asked me to follow him. I headed without questioning.
Reaching the balcony, I saw a mini-sized table with a chocolate cake on the top.
There were a few dishes around. And by one glance, I could tell Xi Song cooked them.
Approaching the cushion, I saw a few fairy lights tied above. They were relishing the mood.
Sitting next to me, Xi Song glanced at me. Rattling his hands in his hair, he apologized. "Umm... Sorry, Xingyue, if you were expecting something better than this. I didn't know how to throw parties. I thought you would love dining under the moonlight with me. So..."
Before he could even utter the next word, I shut him with a peak on his lips.
He frowned, analyzing what just happened.
"My husband knows me the best. No big party could match this wonderful moonlight dinner with you. After all, only being with you matter to me."
Picking up the knife from the table, I beamed at him. "Shall we cut the cake now?"
He nodded with a grin, and I extended my hand to cut it.
He clasped his hands together, singing a happy birthday song for me. It was the first time I heard this song on my birthday.
After my sister died in an accident, I stopped celebrating my birthday. However, having him by my side made me feel less lonely.
I took out a piece of cake and approached him. "For the one who takes care of my happiness, thank you..."
His eyes were moist. Did I say something wrong? He munched and embraced me.
We relaxed in each other's arms while watching stars twinkling, the moon shining, and the sky being a pacifist.
I may sound weird, but I, too, had thoughts of starting a family with him. One thing was clear he was the one I wanted for the rest of my life.
"Xi Song...?"
"Hmm?"
"How about having a kid?"
