Chapter 61 The truth revealed

Tang Xue's POV
Cursing beneath me, I walked towards a chicken cafe. Putting my hands over my head, I screamed silently. "What's wrong with you, Tang Xue? How can you even think this way about him?"
Heavily sighing all the way, I reached the shop, and my gaze fell on them.
"Xingyue? Xia Na?"
Waving her hand, Xia Na welcomed me. "Tang Xue, come, join us."
After a few cans of beer, I realised they were in more pain than me. I found love too painful when I saw Xingyue getting shattered into pieces. Her eyes lost their charm. Even her lips curled down. How heavy was the burden? Perhaps only she knew.
I could see how Xia Na wanted to comfort her when she herself was in need.
Xingyue's POV
A tear fell on the table when I started telling them the truth.
At the time when my sister was living her happiest days with him, an accident occurred, leaving him in guilt for a lifetime.
Flashback
Holding each other's hands, they reached the sunset point on the highest hill of Zhedong Mountain.
When they started looking around, his phone buzzed. "Wait for me; I'll be back in a minute." He went to pick up the call.
"Let me take a few pictures for Xingyue." She moved close to the cliff to get a better angle.
The moment she stepped ahead, the cliff dug her to death, and she slipped away, almost falling off. But she grabbed the edge of the cliff. Hanging in the air, she looked up when someone grasped her other hand.
"Xi Song?"
"Li Shing, don't worry. The rescue will be here anytime. Don't leave my hand, okay?"
Pressing her lips together, she tried to hold back her tears. "Xi Song, I'm sorry; I'll not be able to keep my promise to marry you."
"Don't say that, Li Shing. Everything will be alright. Just keep holding on."
Her helpless look scared him. The hold was weakening as her hand lost the edge. She could see her end.
"Can you do me a favour, Xi Song?" Seeing him desperate to save her, she giggled in pain.
"Be happy, Xi Song. Remember, you deserve the best in life. And please take care of my little sister. Trust me, she is way more beautiful than me."
"CAN YOU STOP TALKING NONSENSE, LI SHING? You're going nowhere." The intense pain in his yell made her chuckle.
"I love you, Xi Song." The grip of her hand loosened, and with a smile, she fell off.
"WINTER BEAR!!!" Losing his sense, he tried to jump off, but the rescue team grabbed him. The heartbroken look on his face remained there like a scar until Xingyue entered and started healing him.
Watching her sister's corpse, she could not hold back as she burst into screams with tears shedding non-stop. Xia Na held her close to her chest and let her cry. "Shing, I'll make sure that whenever I find him, I'll kill him. I'll bring justice to you."
Flashback ended
Hearing all this, they were frightened. They, too, could not believe it, just like me. It was so deplorable that someone I loved beyond limits hid such a prominent truth from me.
Maybe it was right when someone said, "If you try to find the truth in love, it will only break apart. The more you try to get close to it, the more wounds it will give you."
"I have to visit Li Shing. Tomorrow is her death anniversary." Standing, I almost walked away, but she pulled me into a tight hug. Her hands gently patted my head. "No matter what, I'm always there for you, Xingyue." Holding us from behind, Tang Xue added. "And we're always with you."
My lips curled up as I held them back. "I love you, guys."
Getting into a taxi, I made my way to Handong Cemetery. Staring through a window, I giggled, recalling our joyful moments.
Those moments when we chose outfits for each other, cooked at midnight together, and the most beautiful one when we argued and mom made us say 'I love you' to each other,
I could not stop myself from laughing. I recalled her cute pout and mad look while saying, 'I love you," after the fight. Putting a hand over my mouth, I stopped myself from making any noise. My eyes teared up when I realised she actually left her little sister alone.
............................................
Xi Song's POV
I freaked out when Xingyue still didn't return home until the morning. Without wasting time, I went straight to the hospital and moved to Ling Xiao's cabin.
Hurriedly, I opened the door and asked. "Ling Xiao, did Xia Na contact you? Is Xingyue with her?"
"Why are you freaking out-"
"ANSWER ME."
He gulped in fear, listening to my yell. "She didn't reply to my calls and messages. But what happened, Xi Song?"
"Xingyue didn't come for two days. She said she had some work on Sunday, and she hasn't returned since then."
"Did you two fight?"
"Are you kidding me, Ling Xiao?" His questions boiled my impatience more.
"Maybe she realised it was nothing good to marry you, haha."
"Do you want to die so young?" I gave him a pissed-off look long enough for him to stop joking.
Clearing his throat, he said. "Hmph! I was planning to visit her office."
Without a single thought, I replied. "Then, what are we still doing here? Let's go."
"I was planning to visit her office."
Without a single thought, I replied. "Count me in."
................................................
Rushing inside, we headed towards the recipient when I heard Ling Xiao calling out someone.
"Xia Na!"
She turned back and looked at us, but why did I find her glaring at me? Her deadly look horrified me. Gulping hard, I stepped ahead after Ling Xiao.
"Xia Na, why were you not answering my calls?"
"Xia Na, do you know where Xingyue is? She hasn't come home for two days now."
Gazing at us for a while, she broke the silence with a hefty sigh. "Before I talk to you, Ling Xiao, I want to say something to him." She pointed at me, still carrying her scary look.
"What is it?" I asked. "Let's talk in private. You strongly need realisations, Dr. Song."
