Chapter 38 - You’re not alone. Xingyue’s POV After everyone left, both of us were alone. When I looked at Xi Song, there was a mysterious tension plastered on his face. As if he was worried about something. His condition throbbed in my heart. I only wished to see him smiling every day. Tenderly, I held his hand, which made him glance at me. Hiding his worries behind, he passed me a pretended smile. "Anything, Xingyue?" I stared into his eyes, saying nothing. I felt diseased inside. I shared my sorrows with him. But Xi Song never uttered his worries. He kept to himself and didn't bother to share with me. "Xi Song. We're married, but you never see me as your wife. You always pretend like there is no worry in your life. Am I not reliable enough to share your worries with?" "Who told you this? Of course, you're my wife, Xingyue. But I have no worries to share." "LIER!" He was a little indecisive after listening to me. Maybe it was my fault for not noticing his anxiety. "Xi Song, I shared all my worries with you, and you comforted me. Though you barely tell me anything about you. WhY? I can see how stressed you are, but I can't encourage you because I know nothing." His eyes became softened, and he cupped my face while planting a kiss on my forehead. "Trust me, Xingyue, I'm not worried. I know I have you by my side. If I face anything, I will let you know." "Xi Song, I'm not in a rush. I'm willing to wait till you want. All I want to know is about your past. All I want to know is you." I seized his cheeks with my palms and kissed them. "I only want you to know, you're not alone. I, Xingyue, your wife is with you." "Xingyue, thanks a lot," he replied in his brittle voice as I pulled him into a hug. ........................................... Author's POV Both were feeling relaxed in each other's arms when someone banged on the door and stormed inside. Choking, the two separated from each other, and Xingyue's mouth remained open when she saw Xia Na there. "X... Xia Na?" She stared back with her bulging eyes. Her lips curled while she stepped ahead towards Xingyue. A drop of sweat fell down as she couldn't meet her eyes anymore. She knew Xia Na's anger, and this time, it seemed like Volcano was about to erupt. Despite her furiousness, she grabbed her arms and embraced her. "Xingyue, are you alright? Do you know how scared I was when I found you're in the hospital? Do you see me as your friend or not? I'm the last person to know about you." To calm her, she rubbed her back and apologized. "Xia Na, forgive me this time. It won't happen next time, I swear." With the back of her hand, she wiped her tears off. "Anyway, I'm not angry with you." Shifting her gaze to Xi Song, she glared. "I'm angry with him. He didn't take care of you well." Gulping down, he pointed his finger at himself. "Me? What did I do?" "You didn't take care of my bestie. See, she ended up here in the hospital." Their conversation soon turned into an argument. Xi Song didn't leave behind. With his clenched jaw, he scoffed and argued back. "Huh? How come it's my fault? Your bestie worked overtime and lied to me about her health. In fact, I should complain to you. Why didn't you take care of my wife?" "I..." Hearing what he said, Xia Na left with no words. Upon growing childishness of these two, others started getting annoyed. In a gesture, Xingyue asked Ling Xiao to take her away. As he pulled her back and mumbled. "Xia Na, she is tired already. Let's give them some space, okay?" "But... I—" Before she could say something, he grabbed her wrist and took her out of there. Keeping a hold, they went to the cabin. "Ling Xiao, I'm telling you. Your best friend is too reckless. I just—" Disturbed by her chatter, he put his finger on her lips. Slowly, he stepped forward and flustered Xia Na. Smiling in her heart, Xia Na kept moving back. And in a moment, it trapped her body between the wall and Ling Xiao. She clamped her lower lip while staring deep down into his eyes. "Ling Xiao..." "Shh! I don't want to include anyone in our time. Just you..." He put his finger on her lips and then on his. "And me." With a lopsided grin on her lips, she slightly narrowed her eyes. "Then... What do you want to do in this PrViAtE time?" She lifted her chin and rested her hands around his neck. "I want to taste candy." "A candy?" He started bringing his face closer to her face. In fact, their breaths had dissolved into each other. Slowly, he lowered his gaze and glanced at her lips. Her juicy, candy-flavored lips. The winds coming from the window blew her swirls back. He gently caressed those left hair strands on her face that blocked their vision and tugged back on her earlobe. When his soft fingers touched her lips, an offbeat sensation leaped in her heart. Her eyes had closed on their own. She lost herself at that moment. Her heart rate increased on its own. Just one touch of Ling Xiao overcame all her stressful days. His breath brushed against her cheeks, sending shivers down to her spine. She had satisfaction on her face. As if she waited for these moments long ago. Upon noticing her broad smile, Ling Xiao couldn't stop chuckling. Maintaining his coy smile all over his face, he leaned ahead to kiss her. She also brought her cupped face forward, and both were just an inch away when someone opened the door. Frowned at their spots, both turned their heads and glanced at that person. The three of them had eye contact when Xia Na pushed him aside and stared at the ground. Seeing all the accumulated atmosphere being wasted, Ling Xiao became furious. He clenched his fist while passing icy stares towards another person. "Xiao Ming, can't you come a bit later?" To save himself, he also claimed back. "How do I know Ling Xiao about you making love in the cabin?" It stunned both to hear this comment from him. Out of embarrassment, her ears turned red. Not too long, she flustered and ran away. "Xia Na...!!" Ling Xiao even shouted her name to stop her but failed. He held grudges against Xiao Ming and commented. "I'll see you later." He turned his head back and went after her.
