Chapter 24 - Beautiful rainy day
Today was Xingyue's hard-working day as she needed to finish all her pending reports.
She sat on her seat all day working, so much so that she didn't even go to lunch. Her eyes were just fixed on the computer screen, and her mind wanted to finish all the work.
On the other hand, Xi Song was resting at home today.
In fact, he was preparing dinner for Xingyue. He had that lovesick fool smile on his face all day. As if he was satisfied with this wedding.
After a hard day's work, he finally prepared Xingyue's favorite food.
Putting dishes on the table, he was waiting for Xingyue, but there was no news of her.
Time passed, and when it turned into such a dark night, no one knew.
When Xi Song looked out of the window while waiting, he became terrified. As there was heavy rain outside, Xing was still outside.
Taking his phone, he called Xia Na.
Xi Song: Hey, do you know where Xingyue is?
Xia Na: She was at the office, I guess. Wait, is she still not home?
Xi Song: I think she is still there. I'll go and find her.
Hanging the call, he took his car keys and went outside.

She finally took a sigh of relief as she collected all her files and placed them together on the desk.
"Finally, it's done. Now, I can go home."
As soon as she came out of the building, her steps stopped at the entrance. When she noticed such heavy rainfall. Glancing at her phone, she sighed. "No cab available? How will I go home?"
Back then, Han Shuo was coming out and seeing Xingyue, he came over to her. "Xingyue? Are you not going home?"
Turning her head back, she replied. "No, I'm waiting for the cab."
"Do you want me to drop you home?"
"It's okay, Han Shuo. We live in different directions. I'll take a cab instead."
Even though he didn't want to leave her alone, he didn't even have a reason to be there.
"Okay then. See you tomorrow." Passing a smile, he left the place as Xing rested her back while waiting.
Now she was slowly starting to get tired. "I should take the help of Han Shuo. How will I go home?"
She was almost on the edge of crying when someone placed an umbrella on her head, making her frown.
As her head lifted, her gaze met someone she didn't expect.
"Xi Song?"
A smile appeared on her lips. "What are you doing here?"
"Of course, I came to pick you."
Stretching out his hands, he pulled Xing towards him. "Now, let's go home."
He didn't even give time to her for reaction as he held her and walked back towards his car.

The whole time Xing was focused on Xi Song as if she was not expecting him to come but was happy from the heart to see him.
Smiling, they finally came back home.
"I didn't expect rain today."
Seeing her wet hair, Xi Song immediately dragged out a towel and came to her.
"You'll get sick, Miss."
He wrapped the towel around Xing's hair and began drying her hair.
His eyes were fixed at her hair, whereas she was staring at him. She was happy by heart today, and maybe the reason was Xi Song.
Rubbing her hair, he shifted his gaze to her face when their eyes met again, causing a rush in their hearts.
Gulping, his hands automatically stopped as he broke eye contact while moving back.
"I- I will heat the food for you. Dry your hair by yourself."
Without even glancing back, he moved to the kitchen as she Xing chuckled.

When she sat in her seat and looked at the food, she was amazed.
"Xi Song, how did you know about my favorite food?"
Rubbing his earlobe, he gazed down. "Y-your mom once told me. You took care of me, so I wanted to treat you."
A smile occurred on their faces as Xi Song said. "Xingyue, thank you for taking care of me."
The sincerity in his words, she could feel it. But then, her bitter words made her grieved for him.
"Xi Song."
"Hmm?"
Pressing her lips together, she wanted to say it, but it seemed it's hard for her. "I- I'm sorry for that night. I didn't mean to hurt you. I--"
Cutting her words off, he beamed. "Xingyue, your words never hurt me. Don't feel sorry. Let's eat now."
He forgot everything and started eating while her eyes were softened, seeing his nobility.

The morning rush had started again. Both were getting ready for work.
Since last night, she had been feeling unusual. Xi Song was stuck in her mind.
She herself didn't know what that feeling was? But one thing was clear, she no longer had that kind of hate for him.
Immersed in her thoughts, she was making breakfast in the kitchen.
She came out of your thoughts after hearing the sound of the oil getting hot.
Turning her eyes here and there, she began to search for the container filled with rice.
"Where is the rice?"
After a while of searching, she finally found the container kept in the high rack.
Seeing the height, she started feeling tired. "How am I going to get it?"
She knew that she would not be able to reach there, yet she did not hold back from trying.
"Li Xingyue, you can do it."
Tugging her hair strand back, she looked back at the container. And with all her enthusiasm, she jumped yet failed to get it. She could not reach it even after trying continuously.
"Ugh! Who keeps rice containers on such a high shelf?"
Feeling annoyed, she angrily hit her feet against the ground.
"Why am I always so unlucky?"
An exhausted sigh escaped her lips when someone wrapped the hands around her waist and lifted her up.
Completely unknown, her cheeks turned red when someone said in a husky voice, sending shivers down to her spine.
