When it was time to leave Dina put the fruits in Sonia’s bag and carried it. Zack holds Sonia up as they trudge through the woods. Mata and Dina walks ahead of everyone. Mata has an eye on her and it was going well for him. He enjoys her conversations. He easily smiles at her and his intention was becoming obvious. Even what somebody else have said if she should repeat it, it sounds better in Mata’s ears. Nazi and Bond were always behind. Laughing at Bond’s new look is what Nazi keeps himself busy with. He wouldn’t stop and it was making Bond hate him. He warns and warn but Nazi wouldn’t comply. “I don’t fear obese people and you are one” Nazi told Bond. This statement pierced Bond's heart like a knife. Fury grew in him alongside an urge to strangle Nazi. At a point he could not condone it he acted. Nazi thought as Bond looks round he will be lazy and can not do anything to him but seeing Nazi on the ground happened in a twinkle of an eye. Even before those ahead would notice what was happening behind. Ever since then, Nazi stopped challenging Bond to fight, but never stopped looking for his trouble. What he does when Bond comes up on him was run around with him and makes him pant and fatigue. There’s another thing Bond doesn’t like. This was seeing Dina and Mata together. He too had an eye on her. Already he had plans for both of them from the beginning of their trip to the sea. He was hoping to be with her while Zack is with Sonia. But he doesn’t know how to say it. Instead he keeps interrupting them or causing distractions. “What is the meaning of all these nonsense you do whenever I am with Dina?” Mata called Bond aside to ask. “And what is the meaning of what you are doing with her?” “Oh! Now I see you are jealous” “Jealous of what? What should I be…” He started laughing to hide his actual feeling. “So what’s your problem?” “My problem is that this is not the right place for what you both are doing. We should be planning on how to get out of here” “Oh really? Now let me warn you. Let that stupid act not repeat itself again. Otherwise we’ll both find out what is in this tank stomach of yours” “You can’t do me anything. If you want try it, I will disgrace you in front of her” Bond speaks with his voice low so that the other guys will not find out what they were arguing about, he would feel embarrassed if they do. Him alone knows why. “I pray that time comes soon. You think I am Nazi? Just dare me” Since this thing of causing distractions have failed Bond, he now try to be wherever Dina is so that Mata wouldn’t have chance. He brings stories both forged ones to get her attention but most of which she finds boring. And these was gradually ruining her closeness with Mata. She couldn’t stop Bond for she will be misunderstood. She will be seen as a desperate bitch. She had it that if anyone should react on that it should be Mata. Three hours after eating the fruits they began craving again especially the girls who refused to eat the fruit with them because they don’t know it and so they don’t trust it to be safe. “I blame myself for embarking on this journey of no going back” Sonia regretted. “Neither of us sees it as fun. We all regret it” Zack reminded. They walked down to an open land there they saw birds like vultures scavenging carrion on the ground. They weren’t pulling the decayed flesh in hurry. They were gentle and relaxed. It was disgusting and that makes some of them nauseous. “Dirty things” Mata said going to chase them away while the others stood a distance warning him not to go that the birds weren’t hindering him. But he insisted to go. As he was going, none of the birds made a move. They acted as if it was only them in the field. “Go away you irritating things!” He shouted k swaying at the birds he thought to be vultures but none flew. They continued their eating. Mata felt despised, he looked for a stone and hurled at them. Immediately the birds he thought will fly away in fear came after him. “Cover your eyes! Their target is your eye!” Dylan shouted as he and the rest ran ahead. The birds were very aggressive and they wounded Mata with their beak and claws. Though the birds did not follow them for long but they kept running until they got tired. The pain was severe. Mata keeps touching his head, neck and back to see if blood was coming out. It was Bond’s turn to taunt him. His taunts was very annoying not just to Mata but to everyone there. “You have seen what I am talking about” Dylan said to Zack. “From one abysmal encounter to another. This was how I lost my dearest brother” Dylan grieved. “Take heart. He will be alive wandering somewhere. We will see him if fate permits” They came across a brook that seems active only few days after rainfall. They all washed themselves in it before taking off. As they walked, they reached a mountainous area. If they must further they were to climb the Rocky steep. Mata, Nazi and Dina got to the top first while Dylan, Zack and Sonia were climbing up gradually right after them. Bond was still near the ground struggling with himself. He falls and rises. Nazi and Mata kept laughing at him. The time others spent to get up there Bond doubled it to get to the middle. He climbs with complaint. He doesn’t take more than five steps to rest. Mata climbs few steps down to show Bond that climbing the hill was a simple thing. He kept mocking him until Bond got closer. So when Mata tried to climb back, the stone he placed his foot on removed, Mata could not hold himself. That was how he rolled back to the starting pointing. When he reached the ground he could not move. He lied still like one who’s fainted. Now it was Bonds turn to laugh at him, even as it was not something to laugh about. “He is not moving” Dina said almost in tears. “Am I loosing another brother again?” Dylan said in fear hurrying down barely controlling his speed. Nazi followed him to go find out what was wrong with him. Even if everyone should go down, Bond wouldn’t have followed them for he knows how he suffered to get up there. He wouldn’t want to do that twice. He sat up there resting. “Is he still breathing?” Zack shouted from the top. “No” Nazi responded. “No?” “Yes” Zack rushed down the hill with panic to see for himself, Dina followed him. Bond turned to Sonia. “Are you going too?” Bond ask her. But she didn’t answer him. Bond wanted to know if he was going to be abandoned up the cliff. “He is breathing” Zack confirmed. “Yes, he is” “But you said he wasn’t” “No, when?” “I asked you if he was breathing and you said no” “I heard bleeding” “You misheard me” “Is he still alive?” Sonia shouted from the top. She would have come down if she had the strength. The pain from the scorpion sting was still fresh in her. “Yes. But I think he broke his left arm” Dylan answered. They helped Mata up and laid him on his shoulder. “I cannot climb the hill with him. We have to take another path” “Do not panic he will be fine” Zack consoled to whoever worries. “Hey guys. You have to come down here” Nazi informed. That was the worse news to Bond. It sounded like a punishment. He felt like crying. Zack went up to help Sonia down but Bond was left to sort himself out. For a couple of minutes he was still sitting thinking of how to start. “You don’t want to come down right? Remain there”
