Mata had an injury on his left arm but not a dislocation. It wasn’t so bad. They could help him fix it which they did and tied it to his neck. As for the pain, he will go through it for a while.
“Is it painful?” Bond asked Mata after taking almost an hour get down the cliff and to rest.
“No, it’s sweet”
“Let me touch it and see”
“If you know what is good for you, don’t think of it” Mata glared.
“What will you do with one hand?” Bond mocked him.
“Won’t you give him some space? It’s not every time you joke and it’s not everything you joke about” Dina warned. Bond is beginning to shift the hatred he has for Mata and Nazi to Dina for her care and attention to Mata.
“Desperate bitch” He muttered not knowing that Dina would hear him.
“fat fool” Dina answered. Bond was shocked.
Their major problem was hunger. There was nothing available to eat since day break and they were starving. They keep wandering hoping to find something. In as much as there was trees above them the heat of the sun was well felt. They needed water and soon enough they got lucky. It was a stream with a part like a pool right beneath a waterfall. They removed whatever they don’t want to go into the water with and dived into it. The boys went in first except Bond who was either shy or scared.
Those in the water kept persuading those on land to join them till they did. The swimming was going well until Dina noticed something pulling her. She began struggling and shouting for her friends who did not hesitate to come to her aid. In less than five seconds Bond was on the land leaving the guys to do the work. Being on the land wasn’t the case but Bond never stopped running, running without direction. The second person to come out was Sonia. She too was scared and she can’t possibly help.
They kept pulling but what was holding Dina was perceptibly stronger. It was going with them until Dylan remembered his necklace. He removed it and placed it on Dina, immediately the hold was released.
When they finally came out, they couldn’t see Bond. They began calling him. He wasn’t answering. They hastily wear their clothes and rushed the direction Sonia saw him running into.
Shortly they heard him shouting in the woods. What could have happened to him. They rushed to find out what was happening to him. On reaching there they saw him suspended in the air with a rope tied from the tree to his leg. It was a trap.
“How did you get into that?” Dylan asked.
“No, when did you get here? You saw us trying to save a friend’s life and you ran off” Zack raved.
“I was scared”
“And here you are. Is this place better?” Dylan said.
“please get me down”
“You need help but you abandoned someone to die” Sonia said going close to slap him but Dylan held her back.
“You are lucky the trap is just for catching and not killing” Sonia said and stepped back.
“Are you wishing me dead?”
“Does your living make a difference?” Mata said angrily.
“Look. You had better work on your fears before you die a careless death” Zack advised.
“I will, please help me down my leg is hurting”
“You were supposed to rest there for an hour. You only have power on me. Why don’t you come down yourself” Nazi said.
Nazi removed a knife and cut the rope and watched him fall like a sack of grain. That was exactly what he wanted to do to him. If he had let another person do it, they will help him down safely.
“Ahhh!!! Are you helping me or killing me?” Bond snapped.
“You prefer hanging up there?”
“Is it not better? Pray I don’t have body pain”
This statement made everyone regret bringing him down. Bond asked for his clothes, if anyone brought it, they showed him to where he left them. He was scared to go but he had no choice for nobody would do that for him.
“I will never swim again” Bond said making everyone stare at him indignantly but all ignored him.
“Was that not a trap?” Mata asked.
“Yes”
“Who could have set it?”
This question brought their minds together. He was right. They never thought about it.
“That means we are near a village”
They were hopeful but the question now was where the village is sited.
“Maybe this way. They walked and Walked but sees no sign. The forest was becoming more denser. Night too was making hast to do its normal work. They had to find a place to rest. They made fire and sat In a circle. Everyone sitting apart except Zack and Sonia.
