They went to get the weapons together. There they have to pass through swinging metals with spikes all over it. Immediately the stepped on the floor if the room the spikes began to move. They swing knocking each other making the movement undetectable. To get through it one must Walk pass the first and wait for the second one to create space before going further otherwise one will be crushed. They did as supposed with their hearts throbbing steadily. But only three boys crossed, which was Zack, Mata and Rickie.
There was no weapon or tools that could not be found in the room. There were ancient weapons reserved or recovered from battles, there were working tools and many more. They picked ones that caught their attention most. They played with some weapons there before finally taking ones they liked most. Some, they didn’t know their use. They only took ones they know how to use.
“Who packed all these here?” Zack and Mata asked confusedly.
“None of us here has answers to that . We have wondered about it too. We have asked smart questions. Sometimes we think it was humans that once lived here but letter we discover things that would make us doubt humans ever dwelt here. Everything about this place is incomprehensible.” Dylan answered.
“Hey man, what do you need that for?” Zack asked Mata who took bow and arrow pack.
“I may need it when I get home” Mata answered. He wasn’t the only one with what seemed unusable. Rickie also carried two well designed swords.
They traced back the exit and began to hit it. Dylan stopped the reckless hitting and showed them edges to focus otherwise they will exhaust their strength and eventually realized they haven’t done anything so far. They followed orders and they were clearly seeing the difference. They were lucky that age has reduced the hardness of the stone. But someone got unlucky at the process. A piece of stone broken from the big one blocking the exit landed on her feet and injured her. It was Dina. They paused to attend to her first. They went for the vaccine containers and found some containers remaining. They gave her but it didn’t work.
“It works only on diseases and poison. Both natural and evil related ones” Emily confirmed.
“I think she’s right. This won’t heal natural wounds. When we go out we will get leaves to stop the bleeding and also from germs” Dylan assured.
They went back to breaking the exit leaving Dina and Emily with her. Shortly the remaining stone was falling. It fell outside and the sound it made was of something rolling down a cliff.
“We are up not down” Zack said, peeping through a small hole.
“Are we finally leaving the cave?” One of the girls asked.
“I’m not sure. It is dark everywhere. I can’t see anything”
Zack went and peeped after Dylan and succumbed to what Dylan said. After him was Nazi. His own account of what he saw was different.
“It’s night out there. The cave ends here” Nazi announced. They other guys rushed to see. He was right for they could see stars above. They were elated at last.
“I suggest we stay here and wait for day break. Going out now will be very risky” they waited at the mouth of the cave for natural light to rise.
They didn’t know what the time was, they had a long discussion before they began to sleep one by one. Rickie and Dina were getting along so well. Mata noticed it but he did not act or show any dislike. He would look at them and smile but only Rickie noticed.
“What will you do when you get home?” Rickie asked Dina in a whisper.
“I will..” she paused to think properly. “I will visit people I have missed, I will…. I don’t think I have more to say. So what about you?”
“I will see friends and places, I will eat things I miss, I will do things I have left and finally, I will write about this trip and all we encountered”
“Yeah. I will come to your place to help you out with the writing. Two heads with different experience will do better. Have you written any article before?”
“Yea, so many things actually. I’m studious”
“I see that. Same with me. I am a very curious and inquisitive person. Don’t you have a sister?”
“No. Just four of us”
“Don’t worry. You’ll all marry and have females in the house as many as you want”
