Dawson looks so happy with his son Jonathan, Iris been starring at the two for a long time. Iris can see that Alpha Dawson really loves Jonathan. Dawson held Jonathan in his hand, Jonathan giggled when Dawson kissed his nose and his chubby cheek.
“Papa,” Jonathan said with his innocent voice. “You’re so handsome, you know that, right?” Dawson said with a smile on his face.
“I want to play, papa,” Jonathan asked while his eyes shining when he sees the toys that his nanny is holding.
“Ok,” Dawson said when he put his son in his nanny’s arms. The nanny then took Jonathan to his room to play with his toys. “Iris,” Dawson calls her when he turns to Iris, “I want to ask you something.”
Iris looks at him nervously, she’s afraid that Dawson knows something about her and Jonathan. Iris doesn’t want to hurt Dawson, but she’s afraid he’ll be mad when he knows the truth. “Yes, Alpha?”
“I know you don’t want to tell me who Jonathan’s father is, but you need to tell me the truth,” Dawson said in a gentle voice, “Do you know why I’m asking you?”
“No, Alpha,” Iris said nervously.
Dawson held her hand, “Because I want to know who was so lucky to have a son with you, and I want to ask for his permission to court you,” he said with his beautiful smile. Iris gasps. She’s shocked. She can’t believe what Dawson is saying to her.
“W… wh… why are you doing this, Alpha?” She said in a shaky voice. She’s so surprised with his words.
“Because I love you, Iris,” he said, “I love you so much that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So please, let me do this for you.”
“I… I don’t know what to say,” Iris said with tears in her eyes.
“Then let me ask you again,” he said, “May I court you, Iris?”
Iris doesn’t know what she should do. She’s too shocked that she can’t even say anything. She just stares at him and then she hugs him tight.
Dawson was shocked when Iris suddenly hugged him. He doesn’t expect it, but he’s happy and he hugs her back. “You know, you don’t have to force yourself to accept my courting. You can reject me if you don’t love me, Iris.”
“I love you, Alpha,” she said, “That’s why I can’t let you court me,” she added.
Dawson pulled away from her hug. He’s confused. “What do you mean by that?”
“I… I can’t court you because I love you,” Iris repeats what she said to him with tears in her eyes, “You are a good man, Alpha. You’re too good to me and I love everything about you. I just don’t deserve you,” she said before she ran away from him and left him alone in the garden.
Dawson is confused and angry. He doesn't understand why Iris can’t accept his courting. He’s been trying his best to treat her right. He loves her and he’s so sure about his feelings for her.
He’s willing to do everything for her, but he doesn’t understand why she can’t love him back.
Dawson went to the garden to find Iris. He’s mad at her because she ran away from him after he told her that he wanted to court her. He thought that she was happy that he wanted her to be his mate, but he was wrong. “Iris!” he called her name when he saw her at the corner of the garden.
Iris gasped and turned around. She looked shocked and surprised when she saw Dawson. “Alpha?” she said nervously. She didn't expect to see him.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Dawson asked her angrily.
Iris looked scared and hurt. “W… what are you talking about, Alpha?” she said in a shaking voice.
“I’m talking about what you did to me,” he yelled angrily. He doesn't like it when she’s pretending that she doesn’t know anything about what he’s saying. “Why the hell did you run away when I asked to court you?”
Iris looked even more scared and nervous. “I… I’m sorry, Alpha. I don't want to upset you,” she said with tears in her eyes. “But you know that I’m not a good woman for you. You can get anyone you want,” she added.
“I want you, Iris, and only you ,” Dawson said. He doesn’t understand why Iris keeps pushing him away. He thought that he had done something wrong to her, but he didn’t know what he did wrong. “I don’t understand. I thought that you wanted to be loved by me. You know that I love Jonathan like my own son. I don’t care who his father is,” he added.
Iris gasped. She’s hurt. She didn’t think that he would say something like that to her. She thought that he was a good man who understood everything, but she was wrong. He's just like everyone else, hating her son and her.
“Iris, I didn't mean it. I'm sorry, I didn’t mean to say that. I love you and I love Jonathan. Please forgive me,” Dawson said after he realized what he said. He was afraid that he would lose Iris because of what he said.
“You know nothing about us, Alpha,” Iris said in a cold voice. “Just leave us alone,” she added before she ran away and left him standing alone in the garden.
Dawson looked angry and frustrated. He clenched his fist in anger and he growled. He hated it when he couldn’t understand Iris. She was always a mystery to him, and it made him even more frustrated. He wanted to know everything about her. He wanted to know why she kept pushing him away.
He hated it when he thought that he was close to her, and then she suddenly pushed him away. He didn’t want to lose her, but he was afraid that he already lost her. He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to calm himself down. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, trying to think about what to do next.
