Chapter 30 We couldn't deny the attraction

Iris bite her lip, torn between her desire for him and her fear of the consequences. She knew that getting involved with her boss was a bad idea, but she couldn't deny the attraction she felt for him.
“I… I don't know if that's a good idea,” she said hesitantly.
Alpha Graham stepped closer to her, his body almost touching hers. Iris could feel the heat radiating off of him, making her body tremble with desire.
“Please, Iris. Just stay for a few minutes,” he begged.
Iris closed her eyes, trying to think clearly. But all she could think about was the way Alpha Graham's body felt against hers, the way his voice made her feel all warm inside.
“Okay,” she finally agreed, opening her eyes to look at him.
Alpha Graham smiled, his eyes lighting up with happiness. “Thank you,” he said softly. He let go of her arm and stepped back, giving her some space.
Iris took a shaky breath and leaned against the door, trying to calm her racing heart.
Alpha Graham walked back behind his desk and sat down, motioning for her to take a seat across from him. Iris nodded and walked over to the chair, sitting down slowly.
Alpha Graham leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving hers. “Iris, I wanted to talk to you about what happened yesterday,” he said seriously.
Iris's heart skipped a beat as she remembered the kiss they shared. She looked down at her hands, not wanting to meet his gaze.
“I'm sorry about that. It shouldn't have happened,” she said softly.
Alpha Graham leaned forward, his elbows resting on his desk. “Why are you sorry, Iris? It's not like I didn't enjoy it,” he said huskily.
Iris looked up at him, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. “But we can't… I mean, you're my boss,” she stuttered.
Alpha Graham raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on his lips. “Is that the only reason you're sorry?” he asked.
Iris bit her lip, not knowing what to say. She didn't want to admit her true feelings for him, afraid of the consequences.
Alpha Graham sighed and leaned back in his chair again. “Look, Iris. I know this is complicated. But I can't stop thinking about you. About that kiss. I want you, Iris. And I think you want me too,” he said bluntly.
Iris's eyes widened in shock at his words. She hadn't expected him to be so straightforward. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.
Alpha Graham leaned forward again, his eyes boring into hers. “Tell me, Iris. Tell me that you don't want me, and I'll leave you alone. But if you do want me, even a little bit, then tell me that too,” he said softly.
Iris closed her eyes, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she wanted him, more than anything. But she was afraid of what would happen if she admitted it.
“Alpha…” she started to say, but Alpha Graham cut her off.
“Dawson. Call me Dawson,” he said.
Iris opened her eyes and looked at him, seeing the desire burning in his eyes. She took a deep breath, making her decision.
“Dawson, I…I love you.”
“I love you too,” Alpha Dawson Graham said to me, his red eyes full of happiness.
I smiled back at him, my heart full of joy.
“I’ve been waiting to hear you say that,” I teased, snuggling closer to him.
Dawson chuckled and wrapped his arms around me tighter. “I’ve been wanting to say it for so long. I just had to make sure you felt the same way,” he said.
“I’ve loved you since the first day we met,” I admitted.
Dawson pulled back and looked into my eyes, a small frown on his face. “Then why did you push me away for so long?” he asked, hurt evident in his voice.
I sighed and looked away from him, shame filling me. “I was afraid, Dawson. Afraid of getting hurt again,” I explained.
Dawson cupped my face in his hands and turned me back to look at him. “I would never hurt you, Iris. You know that,” he said firmly.
I nodded, knowing that he was telling the truth. Dawson was nothing like my ex-boyfriend. He was kind, caring, and loving. He would never lay a hand on me in anger.
“I know. I’m sorry for doubting you,” I apologized.
Dawson shook his head. “Don’t be sorry, my love. Just promise me that from now on, we won’t have any more secrets between us. If something is bothering you, talk to me about it. Okay?” he said.
I nodded eagerly, relief washing over me. I hated keeping secrets from Dawson, and I was glad that everything was out in the open now.
“I promise. No more secrets,” I vowed.
Dawson smiled and leaned in to kiss me softly on the lips. I melted into his kiss, feeling so much love for this man.
When he pulled away, I was breathless. “I love you so much, Dawson,” I said dreamily.
Dawson grinned and hugged me tightly. “I love you too, my mate. Forever and always.”
“I can’t believe you’re really here,” I said, tears of joy streaming down my face as I hugged my son tightly.
Jonathan hugged me back just as tightly, laughing and crying at the same time. “I can’t believe it either, Mom. I’ve missed you so much,” he said.
We held each other for a long time, both of us unwilling to let go.
