Chapter 24 Will you be my mate?

“Come on, Jonathan. Let’s go and have some lunch. Your mother and father are tired. They need some rest,” she said.
Jonathan let go of Dawson and ran to his grandmother happily. “Okay! I want some lunch!” he exclaimed.
His mother laughed and held Jonathan’s hand. “Come on. Let’s go,” she said before she walked out with Jonathan. Dawson looked at Iris, who was watching them with a happy smile.
“Are you okay?” he asked her.
Iris nodded happily. “I’m happy. I’m so happy that you accept Jonathan as your son,” she replied.
Dawson held her hand. “Of course. He’s my son, and you’re the mother of my child. I love both of you so much,” he said.
Iris’s eyes welled up with tears. “I love you too,” she replied emotionally. Dawson wiped her tears away with his thumb.
He held her face gently and looked into her eyes.
“Iris, will you be my mate?” he asked softly.
Iris nodded through her tears. “Yes… yes, I will,” she replied happily.
Dawson kissed her lips gently. “I love you, Iris,” he whispered.
“I love you too,” Iris replied happily. They hugged each other tightly, basking in their newfound happiness.
They finally had each other, and they had their son. They were grateful for this gift.
Dawson and Iris decided to go to the garden to talk about their past. Iris held Jonathan in her arms as they walked through the garden. They reached a bench under a big tree and sat down. Dawson sat beside Iris, and Jonathan was sitting on Iris’s lap.
“Tell me everything,” Dawson said gently. He wanted to understand Iris more.
Iris sighed. “I don’t know where to start,” she replied. She looked down, avoiding Dawson’s eyes.
“Start from the beginning,” Dawson urged. Iris nodded and took a deep breath.
“Okay. It started three years ago when I met you at the party. You were drunk, and we had… we had intimacy that night,” she began.
Dawson looked down guiltily. “I’m so sorry about that. I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he apologized.
Iris put a hand on his arm. “You didn’t hurt me. I… I enjoyed it. But the next morning, I felt so ashamed of myself. That’s why I ran away,” she explained.
Dawson looked at her with guilt. “I’m sorry that I made you feel that way,” he said sadly.
Iris shook her head and looked at him. “Don’t be sorry. It was my choice. I knew what I was doing. But when I found out I was pregnant, I was scared. I didn’t know what to do. That’s why I asked Olivia to raise Jonathan,” she admitted.
Dawson put a hand on hers. “I’m glad that Jonathan has you in his life now,” he said gently. Iris smiled weakly.
“Me too,” she replied.
They sat in silence for a moment, enjoying each other’s presence. Iris looked at Dawson, who was playing with Jonathan.
“What about you, Alpha? What happened after I left?” she asked.
Dawson sighed. “After you left, I felt empty. I didn’t understand why. But then I realized that I fell in love with you that night. I wanted to find you, but my mother told me that you ran away because you were ashamed,” he replied.
Iris looked down, feeling guilty. “I’m so sorry for leaving you. I shouldn’t have listened to Olivia. I should have faced you instead of running away,” she apologized.
Dawson squeezed her hand gently. “It’s okay. It’s in the past now. I’m just glad that we found each other again,” he said.
They fell silent again. Jonathan was playing with the flowers in Iris’s arms happily. Iris watched him, feeling grateful to have him in her life.
“Jonathan means everything to me,” she said softly. Dawson put an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close.
“He means everything to me too,” he replied gently.
Iris leaned her head on Dawson’s shoulder. She was happy. She finally had her mate and her son with her.
As the sun began to set, Dawson and Iris decided to head back to the mansion. They walked hand in hand, enjoying each other’s company.
Dawson suddenly stopped and turned to Iris. He held her face gently with both hands. “I love you,” he whispered before kissing her lips gently.
Iris closed her eyes, enjoying his kiss. When they pulled away, she smiled happily. “I love you too, Dawson,” she replied.
Iris woke up to the sound of the doorbell ringing. She got up from her bed and quickly got dressed. She ran downstairs and opened the door.
To her surprise, she found her parents standing at the entrance. “Mom? Dad? What are you doing here?” she asked in confusion.
Her mother ran towards her and hugged her tightly. “Oh, Iris! We were so worried about you! Are you okay, my child?” she asked frantically.
Iris hugged her back. “I’m okay, Mom. Don’t worry,” she assured.
Her father stood behind her mother with a worried expression on his face. “We’ve been searching for you everywhere. We were told that you were taken by the Alpha,” he said with a sad voice.
Iris quickly shook her head. “Don’t worry, Dad. The Alpha didn’t hurt me. He… he actually protected me,” she replied. Her parents looked at her in disbelief.
“Really?” her mother asked with tears in her eyes.
Iris nodded and smiled weakly. “Yes, Mom. Alpha Graham is a kind man. He protected me from the rogue Alphas,” she explained. Her parents were stunned to hear that.
“But… but we heard that he took you away from us. Why did he do that if he was protecting you?” her father asked with confusion.
Iris bit her lip. “I… it’s a long story, Dad. But the most important thing is that I’m safe now,” she said.
