PROLOGUE
Celestria POV
The air in the room felt charged with tension as I faced my parents, their stern expressions mirroring the storm brewing within me.
"Why on earth do I have to go to Grandma's in the middle of nowhere? It's not fair!" I protested, my voice filled with frustration. I couldn't believe my parents were insisting on sending me to Grandma's house in the middle of nowhere. The very idea felt like a cruel joke, especially when I had a perfectly good home right here.
My parents exchanged weary glances, their expressions a mix of concern and disappointment. "Sweetheart, it's just for this summer . Your grandma has been looking forward to it, and it'll be good for you to spend time with family." My mother replied, her tone remains firm.
Dad chimed in, his tone stern yet caring. "We thought it would be a valuable experience for you. It's an opportunity for you to learn and grow."
I rolled my eyes. "Learn and grow? It's like exile! All my friends are planning beach trips and pool parties, and I'll be stuck in the middle of nowhere with no Wi-Fi and nothing to do." I protested, my voice filled with frustration.
My mother stepped forward, placing a hand on my shoulders. "It's for your own good, sweetie. We've discussed this, and your behavior lately needs a change. Grandma's house is a peaceful place, and you'll have time to reflect on your attitude."
I huffed, contemplating my options. "Can't I just stay here for summer? I have plans, and I don't want to miss out on everything happening with my friends."
Dad shook his head, "This is non-negotiable. It's a chance for you to change that bratty attitude of yours."
I glared at them "This is so unfair! I'd rather face any other punishment. Ground me, take away my privileges—anything but banishing me to the creepy woods! No! No! I would not agree!" I said feeling a surge of injustice.
They exchanged glances, a silent communication passing between them. "Honey, sometimes stepping away from the hustle and bustle helps us appreciate the simpler things in life. Give it a chance. You might find unexpected joy in the quiet moments."
"But mom!"
"Enough. We've made our decision.Pack your bags; we leave in the morning." Dad's voice shouted at me.
Feeling defeated, I stormed out of the room, The thought of spending my summer surrounded by trees and silence didn't appeal to my teenage desires for excitement and socializing.

DAMIEN POV
The moon hung low in the night sky, casting a silvery glow over the ancient were pack territory. I stood in the grand hall of our ancestral home, my heart heavy with a burden I could no longer bear. The scent of ancient wood and the flickering candlelight added an air of solemnity to the room, mirroring the turmoil within me.
For years, I had searched tirelessly for my mate, the one person destined to complete me. But as time passed, doubts began to creep into my mind. Doubts that whispered of an unattainable love, a love that seemed to elude me at every turn. And in the midst of my search, I found solace in the arms of another - a named Olivia.
Olivia was everything I thought I needed. Her vibrant spirit and gentle touch had captured my heart, and we had built a life together. But deep down, I knew that she was not my true mate, the one who held the key to my soul.
I could feel the tension in the air as I walked into my father's study. The room was filled with the smell of old books and the faint glow of the fireplace. I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves, as I prepared myself for a conversation that I knew would not be easy.
"Father," I began, my voice steady but laced with a hint of defiance, "I have found love with Olivia. She is my girlfriend, and she brings me happiness. I don't need to search for a mate anymore."
His eyes, once filled with pride, now simmered with disappointment. "Son, you're an Alpha. You have a responsibility to the pack, to our lineage. Waiting for your true mate is important .It's a connection that goes beyond mere love."
"But Dad, Olivia is my present, my happiness. I can't put my life on hold for an uncertain future." I countered, frustration lacing my words. "What if I never find my true mate? Am I supposed to live my entire life in anticipation?" I asked, my voice carrying a mix of frustration and determination.
Silence hung in the air as my father considered my words, his eyes searching mine for understanding. Finally, he sighed and leaned back in his chair.
"Son, as the Alpha, your choices affect not only yourself but our entire pack. It is your duty to ensure the strength and unity of our lineage," he replied, his voice filled with a mixture of wisdom and caution.
"I am aware of my responsibilities, Father," I replied, my voice unwavering. "But I cannot deny the feelings in my heart, nor the connection I have with her. It is undeniable."
My father's gaze softened, a glimmer of understanding in his eyes. "Love has a way of defying logic and custom," he admitted, a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "But remember, my son, love alone cannot sustain a strong pack. It requires trust, loyalty, and a willingness to put the needs of the pack above personal desires."
I nodded, gratitude swelling within me for his understanding. "I promise, Father, that I will always prioritize the well-being of our pack. I will do everything in my power to ensure its strength and prosperity."
He leaned forward, placing a hand on mine. "That is all I ask, my son. Just remember that with great power comes great responsibility. Embrace the love you have found, but never forget the weight of your duties as an Alpha."
As I walked out of my father's study, a mix of determination and uncertainty filled my being. The road ahead would be filled with obstacles, but with love as my guiding light, I was prepared to face them head-on.Download Novelah App
