My seat can no longer contain me as I stand up with the shot still in my hand as I watch Ted watch me. He walks closer to me and stands in front of me, his eyes looking down at me as I watch him in confusion. "What are you doing here, Ted?" I ask him, almost close to tears. "I'm here to see you, Beth. I'm sorry and I missed you." He says, looking sad. "What do you mean by you miss me? You left me with nothing. You didn't send a text, you didn't call, you didn't say shit, and now you're back here telling me that you're sorry?" I scoff in disbelief. "There's no way you're actually sorry. Do you have any idea how humiliated I felt to wake up and not find you beside me? Do you know the kind of thoughts that ran through my head?!" My eyebrows furrow as I start to scream. "That's why I'm here to apologize to you, Beth. I know what I did was wrong, so will you find a place in your heart to forgive me." "Forgive you? Forgive you for what? I'll never ever in my life, till the day I die Ted….forgive you." I finish and pour the shot on him. Gasps ring out from around me as people had stopped what they were doing to watch us. I look around at all of them and even Harvey had stopped dancing and was now watching me. She steps down from the stage and walks over to me. "What's wrong, Beth?" She asks as she touches my arm. "What do you mean? Why are you all looking at me that way?" I ask her, frowning. "Who are you talking to? You're just shouting and talking to the air?" "What do you mean? I'm talking to Ted." I gesture to Ted, but when I turn to look at him, he's nowhere to be found. I look around the whole club, searching for Ted, but he's not there. "Beth!" Harvey calls. "Beth, there's no one there. You weren't talking to anyone." She says and realization dawns on me. I hadn't been talking to anyone, I was basically acting crazy. What the hell is wrong with me? I hear a cackle come from behind me. I turn around to see Halsey. "Well, well, if it isn't Beth. You're in so deep that you're now acting crazy." She smirks. "Stop it, Halsey. Now's not the time." Harvey attempts to stop her, but she brushes her off. "It seems your boyfriend…" She air quotes the word boyfriend. ".. isn't here anymore, and it's taking it's toll on you." Her voice, mocking. "Fuck you, Halsey. No one needs your stupid opinions." I seeth. "You can't stop me from saying the truth, Beth. You're just a little whiny bitch, and that's why Ted left you." She says bringing her face close to mine and I see red. I raise my hand and slap her hard across her face. She stands there shocked that I would do that to her. She snaps out of it and attacks me, her hands flying into my hair, pulling at it. I shout as I grab her hands, trying to pull them away from my hair, but she only holds on tighter. People are now gathered around us, watching what is going on, while Harvey and a few other employees try to separate us, but Halsey just wouldn't let go. "You bitch." I scream. I look down at her feet and raise mine up to crash them down on hers with as much force as I could gather and she screams, letting go of my hair. I grab her by her own hair and slap her one more time before someone holds my hand. I look back to see Harvey, shaking her head asking me to stop. Just then, Mr. Thornhill walks into the club and sees us. He stands there staring at us before walking up to us. "What the hell is going on here?" He asks, his eyes looking angry. "This bitch started it." Halsey says before I get the chance to even speak. "No, you did. You insulted me first, si I just responded as I normally should." I spat and we both start to argue again. "Stop it, both of you!" Mr. Thornhill shouts. "Are you aware that I run a business here? This is not a place for the both of you to fight and shout as you like!" "Halsey, you've been causing more trouble this days, and I do not know what your problem is, but you will receive a punishment for your actions here today, because Beth here is a paying customer and as an employee here, you are supposed to respect her as that." He says and I smirk at Halsey, who looks horrified. "You are to see me in my office immediately after Beth and do not let me here any sounds from you." He turns to me. "Follow me Beth." He says and starts walking to his office and Halsey is left standing there, her mouth opening and closing, but no words coming out. I smirk at her as I follow Mr. Thornhill upstairs to his office. He opens the door and gestures for me to walk in and I do and he closes it behind us. "Is there a problem, Beth?" He asks as he seats in his chair behind the desk. "No, sir. There's no problem at all." I say, not wanting to tell him anything. "Are you sure, because I noticed your behavior lately has drastically changed. You're not like the way you used to be. You don't even look like you've gotten enough sleep." He says, his face looking concerned. I sigh. "I can assure you, sir. There's no problem, like you said I just didn't get enough sleep." I say with a tight smile. "If there's none, then you're free to leave. Enjoy the rest of you leave." He says as he gestures towards the door. "Thank you Mr. Thornhill." I say before leaving his office. Feeling embarrassed, I just wave at Harvey from a distance as I hurry out of the club, with many eyes watching me. I call a cab and sigh as I sit in it when it arrives. I tell the driver my house address and lay back in the sit, feeling disappointed at myself for my actions. I get home and crawl into my bed without taking off my clothes or shoes, curling into myself. Hoping that when I wake up, Ted would be beside me hugging me close to his chest.
