Chapter 56: An Idea.
I learnt of discipline and courage right under Uncle Dale but almost forgot that I was taught of love and kindness by Mother superior and the others at the Orphanage, Jack gave me an idea which after few minutes of verification, I decided to go along with it. Jack began with asking me questions when I tell him my plans of getting my brother David back to his right mind, Jackie already told him of our first encounter with David's mom and as Jackie said before giving me Jack's number, she said that Jack told her she never expected less from me, that he could guess that was going to be my reaction. The question Jack asked me was, If Mr Caleb had straight away kept you in that position you find yourself that day you escape from the school without ever getting to meet with David or Uncle Dale, who would you have become?. I know it was an imaginary question that never took place and the chances of that imagination happening is 0%, but yet, the question made sense. If I was really left at the situation I found myself the second time, could I have become the young ambitious man I am today?, The answer is no for me. I could have blamed myself for running away, I could have tried to live my life with the teachings I got from the Orphanage and it would surely cost me my happiness and self reliance, I would see the world as hell and would want nothing else but to look for ways to run back to Mother superior whom I ran away from trying to make my own decision, gambling with my life right from the early stage. The next question he threw at me was, how are children trained?. I know that we all grew up in love and happiness amongst each other with Mother superior who was looking over us, teaching us about God and his kingdom, but Uncle Dale, Uncle Dale taught me about life and what reality throws at us, he taught me that picking ourselves up is better than staying down, he taught me of the power of decision and responsibility and all that came from him, that was the two mentors I grew up under, but this time, Jack makes it clear for me over the phone, he said. “ If you look in the world Jones, a child will always cherish the mother rather than the father, they believe that their mother is the only one who cares but the father wants results, they children always run to the mother when they're afraid and scared because they will be protected at all cost, but the father will give you the weapon and ask you to protect yourself, both parents are parents of value who wants what's best for their child, but will the child understand it that way?, It depends, it depends whether the child grew with the mindset of a warrior or a peace maker, war brings peace, peace brings war, there are so much you can never control Jones, just do your path and hope that the person you're willing to teach understands your reasons rather than the result your destination brings, that way you will see the difference you brought....”. Those words were all parables but this time, I am beginning to learn from parables, the story of the parables was never the story to the problem at hand, but the understanding it brings, digs deep to the result you seek. David is like a child who lacked mother's love when he was living with Uncle Dale, he was the fearsome warrior who never take chances with anything that would lead to loving a woman because he finds them as weakness, he was trained like a warrior right from childhood and bear the mindset that made him view the world different because he believed that the world is nothing but war for men, but when peace comes, warriors becomes useless, they'll no longer find a spot beneficial to them, they can't live well when there's peace because they was never breeded that way, they were fighters who only believes that life was nothing but war. Then David came to fall under peace, now he's fallen into the category of the love he missed since childhood, he gained a twisted knowledge where he learnt about Life before Love, it's always meant to be learning about Love before you understand that Life doesn't bring that love you dream of, instead you build it into your life by yourself and take responsibility of that decision, that's how my own life came about, David began learning from the secondary part that the primary part is totally pulling him down to get along with. The third question was Who's to blame for David's miserable condition?. I first had only one thought if I was asked about that when I never spoke with Jack, I could have said David is to be blamed, he should take responsibility for the way his life has become and should fight for freedom by building his mindset, but with the conversation with Jack right now, I have noticed why Jack never reached his father's expectations, that Mindset was never there, the tool he needs for success never came out right, he's going through abnormal life education and he's the one losing because of improper education, he wasn't to be blamed, but his parents should be, now I have began to see reasons why Uncle Dale blames himself rather than David, he's taking responsibility for David's failure and right now have I realized that it wasn't David's fault after all. The parents behavior is what the child learns from, have Uncle Dale taught David about love and then change his way of teaching as he grows, that way, David would have learnt the phase he's going through now from his father, but Uncle Dale never taught him that, he taught him to be a man right from childhood, now he has came to realize that since a man can be made out of a boy, you have really got to become a boy first before becoming a man but for David, he was a Man since childhood and now the reality of being a boy with mother's love has defeated him.
