I let go from the hug, looked into his eyes and forced myself to smile, it might not have reached my eyes but I guess he doesn't see that. 
“ I wonder how many pounds weight you're worth now probably 315 lbs if I am to guess.... much more than me ”, I made it sound like a joke, but it's no joke. He smiled about my guess before offering me to take a seat, I did, trying to exercise the mindset given to me by Jack and remain calm and gentle, treating him like a child.
As funny as this might sound, it's a fact right before me, David is now living the life of a child and every motivation and mindset he once had was gone as if someone suffering from mental issues, I can't possibly request he should go to therapy, if I want him back to his old self, then I should be his therapist, he should see me as a mentor for him to carve in.
“ So Jones, how has it been going, saw the movie you were a cast in, my favorite.....”, he laughed saying those words, it was not funny, never funny but I decided to fake a laugh, I looked at Jackie who held my hand with a smile on her face and nodded her head as if encouraging me to keep it up.
Pretending was never my thing, I was never taught to pretend, whatever I am doing is really, I might be a child who learnt from two parents, but none of them taught me to pretend about something or a behavior, mother superior was against it because pretenders are liars, uncle Dale was against it because pretenders are fake, I hated it because pretending was the act of hiding something real, but now I have to pretend because I want to save a brother just like that story where a wife lied about her husband being around just to protect her husband, I just hope this sacrifice was worth it.
“ David I can remember how thin you were then, I was far bigger and muscular than you.....”, “ that's a lie, that's a lie!...”, he debated as both of us laughed out loud, who didn't know it was a lie, I'm sorry Mother superior.... LoL.
“ I've always been bigger Jones, my muscles were too attractive that no body who passed me doesn't look back....”, he said, I have to keep this on if I should go on this path. “ You've no evidence about that David, I've always been far more bigger and muscular....”, I challenged as we continued making the joke out of it.
“ Aha!.... Here's an evidence, Jackie here is a witness, she was there....”, he said pointing towards Jackie continuously, trying to prove his point, Jackie agreed with what he said, joining in with the conversation, it began getting fun slowly as both of them were challenging against me while I keep defending the fact that I was more attractive than him.
The fun came to an end when a knock sounded on the door, I didn't stand to go open it, Jackie was about to go as I held her back, the knock sounded again, he knew that he has to answer to that, he got up and opened the door and there came his mother. The glare she gave us shows that she's still mad at us for what I did the last time I was here, she never took her eyes off me until she kept all she came in with.
“ David I thought we talked about this.....”, she asked him, “ But mom, she's my brother....”, “ Shut up David.... Are you the one paying for the rent?, This is my roof and I decide who comes in and who doesn't, how is he your brother?, Did I gave birth to him?.....”, she barked at him. “ Mom stop!..... Why are you doing this?, Jones is the only brother I have got ”, “ Says by who?, Says by who I ask?....”.
This woman is roasting us right in front of us but covering it up as if she was just scolding David. I fell her hands placed on mine again, holding them tight, there's nothing more I want than walking away from here, but doing that shows that I will never get myself to come here again, I just have to patiently seat back and watch this happen because the moment I walk away, it's over.
“ You should leave, you're not welcomed here.....”, she said to us, me directly. “ Mom you can't just send him!.....”, “ what is wrong with you David?, This boy here is the reason your so loving father is in prison!.....”, she said. This I can't tolerate, I can't seat here and look at her speak about Uncle Dale like that.
“ Never speak about my father like that!....”, I barked at her, throwing away any respect I have for her left, she laughed on top of her voice, David's face was now down as if he has given up, anger was written across Jackie's face, the first time I am seeing that look there and I just can't do anything because David's mom is a woman.
“ Who's your father?, Stop being delusional boy, you have no father or mother, have you forgotten that you're an orphan who has no Mother or father?, Get your head together and go look for your real parents, leave my house or I will call the cops on you!....”.
I just stood there paralyzed, taken aback with every words that came out from her lips, if I ever respected this one because she's the mother of my brother, then right now, it's all gone and forgotten.
