It has been a week since Celeste arrived at her future husband's house as a maid in disguise. The household chores were pretty challenging on her first three days, but as days go by, she adjusting to it now... Morning came, and it was another day in the mansion as a maid. Celeste slowly opened her eyes as she heard the birds chirping outside. She realized that it's already morning, because the gentle light of morning sunshine made her room so bright. She was able to have a peaceful and deep sleep last night and she feels so good this morning. She got up from her bed and went towards the window. She pulled the curtains open and she looked at the garden. Celeste instantly saw Nathaniel, who was busy cutting some leaves. She remembered her promise to herself last night that she would give him a chance, and she'll be kinder to him. Well, she think this is a perfect time for her to do something and get to know her future husband, little by little... She immediately brushed her teeth, washed her face, and changed into her maid uniform which is now her normal clothing everyday... She decided to go to the kitchen and make two cups of coffee for him and Nathaniel. Afterwards, she went out to the garden, while carrying a tray with two cups of hot coffee. "God morning, Sir." she greeted him. Nathaniel turned around, and he smiled at her. His smile can brighten up the whole place, and it made her morning even better. "Wait, what am I thinking? Get a hold of yourself, Celeste!" she secretly reprimanded herself. "Good morning to you, too." Nathaniel greeted her back. "Would you like to take a break and join me for a cup of coffee, Sir?" Celeste invited him. "Perfect timing. I need to take a break too and a cup of hot coffee sounds nice." Nathaniel agreed, as he walked towards her direction and sat at the divan. "Cheers." Celeste raised her mug for a toast, and Nathaniel did the same. They both clinked their mugs for a toast. They both started sipping their coffee in silence. "By the way,how did you find out that we're looking for an extra helper when you told me before you were living in the big city?" Nathaniel decided to break the ice between them. "Oh,they posted a job advertising on the internet, I called them, and I got hired. This is only a part-time job for me, and after my job is done, I'll go back home." Celeste responded. "I see...But can I ask you another question?" "Yes, sir." "Do you have plans to stay here longer? I mean, don't you like the countryside life?" Nathaniel did a follow-up question. "Uh,yes. I need to go back to the city because I need to find a job that will help me improve my skills. I'm just saving enough money. I need to do this to become part of the society, I guess." Celeste just kept on giving him white lies, but she doesn't have any choice. She's secretly wondering on why did she feel a bit sad when she realized that she'll be leaving this paradise very soon... Celeste snaps out from her reverie when she heard Nathaniel's voice again. "Yeah, I'm okay." she forces an airy smile towards her. "I hope we can still get to know each other, Celeste." Daniel said it without any reservations, while looking straight into Celeste's eyes. "Yes...I think so too." Celeste decided to follow her heart. It's strange for her to feel something special with this man that she only met a week ago. But she just remembered something that she read in a romance novel many years ago... She can still remember this line; "Does it take forever to fall inlove to someone?" So does that mean that she unconsciously fell in love with Nathaniel at first sight? Oh,heavens! She thinks she's finally inlove! And she's sure that it's not just an infatuation! Everything happened so fast, and she can't keep up! "We can take it slow, Celeste. We can get to know each other little by little." Nathaniel said, as he gently clasped Celeste's hand. "Yes, let's do that." Celeste whispered back, as she was trying to calm the fast beating of her heart... ================================= "What do you think of your future husband?" Rachel excitedly asks her from the other line. It was already midnight, and Celeste hid herself in one of the trees and she's now having a late-night talk with her bestfriend Rachel over the phone. Celeste decided to open up to her... "Hmm...I think we have a mutual understanding,Rach. Of course, it's not official yet, but we had an agreement that we'll take everything slow, and we'll see what happens." she confessed to her best friend. "Oh, that's great! And I agree that you need to take it slow, one step at a time. There's no need to rush!" Rachel excitedly gushed from the other line. "But please don't say anything to anyone yet, okay?" Celeste asked for Rachel's cooperation. "Of course, girl! You secret is safe with me. I promise I won't say anything. My mouth is sealed." Rachel promised her. "Thanks, Rach." Celeste smiled, while looking relieved. She knew that she can count on her. "But why do you want it to be a secret though? I don't think that liking someone is bad. I'm sure your parents will be happy to know that you like someone. Especially to the person they like you to get married with. Arranged marriage is not as bad as we thought. Your father seems to have a soft spot for him, too." Rachel spoke again. "But it feels like everything's moving so fast! I kept on asking myself-am I really ready for a romantic relationship? But what about my real-life problems? I need to find a job, and I need to earn my own money...Do I really have time to have a lovelife?" Celeste poured out all of her thoughts and feelings. "That's why you need to use your mind and your heart to think about this carefully, Celeste." Rachel gave her a piece of advice. "It's really a challenge for me, but I'll think about it. But your advice means a lot to me. Thank and I love you lots, Rach." Celeste thanked her best girl friend. So, what are you going to do now? Are you going to accept him as your future boyfriend or shall I say your future husband?" Rachel did a follow-up question. "To be honest...I don't know. I have so many things on my plate right now. I just graduated from the University and I need to find a stable job. I still need to organize my life." Celeste helplessly sighed. "I understand that your overwhelmed right now. Just remember, you don't need to rush on your decisions. Life is not a race. Every person has its own timeline. Each person has its own starting line and finish line." "Thanks, Rachel. I feel a bit better now. But I feel like I still have lots of thinking to do." Celeste gratefully responded. "If ever you need someone to listen to all of your thoughts, your complaints or if you just want to release your inner drama queen--you can talk to me at anytime, alright?" Rachel reassures her. "Yeah, I'll remember that. Thanks." Once the call has ended, Celeste decided to go back to the maid's quarters and call it a day...
