"Alright, Sally. I hope you get well as soon as possible. It's so boring at school when you're not around." Michaela stated. "I hope I can recover soon. I also miss going to school." Sally responded. After a few minutes, their conversation is over. Michaela wanted to rest but she couldn't do so because she still needs to study. She can't afford to waste any more time. There is no time for her to relax. If she wants to be on the top rank, she needs to make some sacrifices for a better future. She is sure that she will thank herself in the future. She aims to be successful in everything that she do. She gently slaps her cheeks to make herself awake, then afterwards, she opened her book and notebook. After a few minutes, she's already concentrating on her studies... ========================= A few weeks later. Michaela forced herself to go to school even if she's feeling under the weather today. She can't afford to skip classes because she wants to get the "Perfect Attendance Award." Aside from that, she's scared of missing her lessons because she doesn't want to be left behind, and do some cramming in the end. She's on her first day of her monthly period, and she's feeling all kinds of pain from head to toe. She has a migraine, and her tummy hurts. But this month's period is a bit weird for her. The pain is so intense, compared to her period last month. Before going to school, she decided to take a painkiller pill just in case... Her bestfriend, Sally knows what's going on with her. She can clearly see the genuine concern on her face while she's looking at her. "Are you alright, Michaela? You seemed to be in so much pain for this month's period..." she immediately asks her. "And I feel a bit strange compared to my last period." Michaela answered. She took a deep breath while she's taking a seat. "Oh... Did you bring any medicine with you?" Sally asks another question. "Yeah, I bought some painkillers today. Don't worry about me too much." Michaela reassures her friend. "Okay. If you need anything, just call me, okay?" Sally reminded her. She immediately went back to her own seat because their teacher arrived for their first lesson for today. Meanwhile, Michaela catches Kent staring at her. One of the things she hated on her last year of highschool is that she and Kent are sitting next to each other. It was definitely not her decision to sit beside him. It was their Class Adviser who decided the sitting arrangement for this year. Of all the people who will sit next to her, why did their Class Adviser choose Kent?! "And what are you looking at?" she snaps at him. Kent just shrugged in return, then afterwards, he turned his attention back to their teacher. Michaela winced when she felt the pain on the lower part of her stomach. She tries concentrating on the class, and she's wishing that the pain will go away as time goes by... ======================= Few hours have passed. The bell rang, which finally signals the school's lunch break. The students immediately left the room, and they are all making their way to the school cafeteria. "I'm so sorry, Michaela. I can't have lunch with you today. My mother will pick me up for a quick check up with our doctor and I won't be here during the afternoon classes." Sally said, while looking so guilty. "Sally, you don't have to feel sorry or guilty. I'm totally fine, and I can handle this myself. You'd better hurry up or you'll be late for your doctor's appointment." Michaela smiles at her bestfriend. "Alright, Michaela. I'll see you tomorrow. I promise I'll call you tonight once I get home." Sally promised her best friend. "Thanks, Sally." Sally finally left school to meet up with her mother to go to their doctor's appointment. Michaela doesn't have an appetite to eat anything, so that's why she decided to take a nap. But before that she has to change her pads first. She is now slowly making her way outside the room, but she stops when she meets Kent by the door. Kent stared at her, while looking so serious. "Are you feeling okay, Michaela?" he suddenly asks her. "Yes, I'm fine. Could you please move out of my way?" Michaela weakly replies. "The space is yours, Mademoiselle." Kent responded, while being sarcastic and amused at the same time. Michaela rolled her eyes heavenward. She doesn't want to waste her time and energy. She just started walking away from him... "Wait a minute, Michaela!" Michaela turned her heel around to turn around. But she had a surprise of her life when Kent gently touches her waist and wrapped his varsity jacket around her. "W-What the heck are you doing?!" Michaela unbelievably asks him Kent's whole face suddenly turned red and he seemed too embarrassed to speak. "W-Well, I don't know how to say this, but I think it's a girl thing." he stammered. Michaela's eyes widened as she finally understands what Kent was trying to say. Kent helped her by covering her back with his beloved and precious varsity jacket. Michaela seemed to want to cry in extreme embarrassment, but she decided to control her emotions. She doesn't want to appear weak and sensitive infront of Kent. "Thank you for doing this, Kent. Don't worry, I'll wash your jacket before I give it back to you. For now, I need to go to the school clinic." she tries to stay calm. "Do you want me to accompany you?" Kent suggested, while looking worried. "Don't worry, I can manage. Thank you once again." Afterwards, Michaela immediately walks off, feeling a bit embarrassed about what happened. "Why did Kent has to see it? This is so embarrassing!" she is internally screaming right now. At the same time, Kent's eyes followed Michaela, as he is really worried about her. "I hope she's really okay..." Kent whispered to himself.
