Sam continued to eat quietly while Mon went to her table and tried to fix the papers on it. She decided to sit on Sam's seat and checked on what her wife is doing. Being incharge of Diversity helped her understand more on this aspect of business since she's also checking on her company's financial statement herself. Plus she's forced to take and graduate a business course before taking over Diversity. Its one of Sam's request before she passed her the office. Since Mon doesn't want to disappoint her and their grandma she decided to do everything she could, to learn things about business.
"Khun Neung told me about the problem but i did not expect how big this is. This is fraud and embezzlement? This is a serious problem."
"Its what the culprit did. I'm reviewing everything. A lower ranked employee will never do this without anyone to back her up and even a higher rank one cant do this alone. Im sure someone is sabotaging the company and i will give them hell when i find out who. That's the reason why im so stressed out, i can't trust people form finance and accounting anymore. So im doing it myself."
Mon took a seat beside her wife. Who's now having dessert already.
" You should have told me."
"I don't want to stress you out. Its bad for you and Bunny. Sorry Mami..." Sam then bent down and kissed her unborn child. "Sorry Bun."
"But still, you should've asked help from other people. You're starting to go back to the old you Love. And i dont like it since you are doing good in accepting people in your life now. We are all here to help you, Khun Neung, Pri, your own staff here. You can all work together to solve this. Dont close your door to those who are willing to offer help. More brains is always better than one. Trust them Sam, just how they trust you too."
Sam just looked at her wife the whole time she is speaking. She then went to tuck her head on her wife's neck the closed her eyes. Her scent, her voice, even the sound of her breathing, all of it calmed her down.
"Im sorry again." Sam whispered
"Its ok now, were ok now." Silence enveloped the couple. Mon can feel her wife's breathing calmly.
"Do you want to take a nap for a while? I'll wake you up after an hour. You need to rest too my Love."
There's no response from her. When Mon looked, her wife is already asleep. They stayed like that for minutes before she lay Sam down. She looked at her wife's face. Her eye bags are prominent, eyebrows wrinkling even in her sleep. She massaged her forehead until Sam relaxed.
Opening the door got everyone's attention again. Everyone is tensed and silent, afraid of what mews she's about to say. Or scared of what their boss' state is. Pri rushed to her side with a worried expression.
"Lady Mon?"
"Move the meeting in an hour Pri. Khun Sam is having a nap." Mon said with a smile. The secretary released a sigh of relief. "You can breathe now Pri. Did the external accountants arrived already?"
"yes Lady Mon. Lady Neung is talking to them at the moment."
"How about the papers Sam asked?"
"Its here Lady Mon..."
"Make copies of that then give it to the accountants to review. We need to get through this as soon as possible."
"Yes My Lady. Please dont stress yourself too much."
"Thanks Pri. I'll get back inside. Please don't disturb us."
"I will not do such thing My Lady. Please take a good rest."
While Sam is asleep, Mon tried to check on what she is doing on her laptop after she barged in. She actually finished the one she is working with so Mon arranged her table, careful enough not to make sounds that might wake her up. When things are back to normal, she checked on her wife and she is still sleeping peacefully. She went to the conference room to check on Khun Neung and the external accountants.
"Mon!"
"Lady Kornkamon." people inside the room except Khun Neung greeted her. Mon acknowledged them with a hug too.
"Sorry, Khun Sam is still asleep. I asked her to take a nap since i know how sleep deprived she is for days already. Hows everything Khun Neung?"
"They found discrepancies from past projects already. Were not finished yet though."
"Its fine, she's still sleeping anyways. Sam is done reviewing the current project. I saw her notes on some of the papers she is working with. This is not a pity problem. This is large-scale fraud and embezzlement."
"our thoughts too. At least we knew what we are looking for and where should we look for now. That project accident is a blessing in disguise too. This is the biggest problem the company faces since Sam became a CEO. I can't imagine what would i do if i am on her place. The pressure will kill me and soon grandma too. Im glad its Sam who is leading the family business now but also hope she will keep her cool and not like this. Im really sorry Mon. I really hope we could fix this soon i don't want you to get stressed her too. Fah will kill me if that happened."
" I'm fine Kung Neung. This is just a bit of what i got through when i was working as an intern in Diversity. Imagine how my boss enslaved and observed me closely that time coz she thought i was a spy and an enemy. You know how Sam is that time."
"Im actually concerned with Sam's behavior though i never saw her that way."
"This actually swayed her out of the path she wanted to go through. Good thing you called and we put her back to the right path before anything extreme happened."
"All the credit belongs to you Mon. Only you can stop Sam by going head-to-head with her. Seeing her panic when you shouted back at her is madly satisfying after all the terror she made us feel but deep inside im afraid for her too."
"Eh? Why are you afraid for her?" Mon asked innocently, even Pri and Ra who's now distributing some snacks chuckled.
"Have you seen yourself angry Mon? Oh maybe not but we all saw you! Im afraid of Sam but angry Mon is on a different level Mon. Im 10 times scared of an angry you than Sam now."
"ow stop it Khun Neung."
"I'm serious Mon. Your scary im glad im always on your side. Remind me where is this Mon when you are fighting your love with grandma? If i knew you have this side before, i would really help unleash it so she will stop going between the two of you that time."
"Please Khun Neung, past is past and grandma loves me now."
Neung rolled her eyes to her sister-in-law.
"No need to say it on my face Mon. We could see how she loves you more than me and my sister so you can stop now. What am i? A chopped liver? Am i really an Anuntrakul?" Neung whined.
Everyone laughed at Neung. Making the tension inside the room lighter. That is before the door opened and Sam entered, holding her laptop and some papers that Pri immediately took from her.
"Tee rak?" she called
"Im here Love." Mon walked towards her wife. Sam immediately hugged her not minding all the people inside the room.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better than this morning. Mind's clear and well too. I realized how i really need that lunch and sleep. Sorry if we bother you this much and for dealing with that side of me again."
"Yeah that dark side of yours." Neung joked
"Khun Neung..." Mon stopped her sister-in-law. "Its fine Love. Im always be here to help you. Always remember that."
"Do you want some coffee?"
"Tea will do Tee rak. Something to calm my nerves. That iced tea you brought at lunch is good."
"Pri prepared that, would you mind getting another pitcher Pri?"
"Not at all My Lady, please excuse myself for a while."
Sam sat on her place at the end of the table and Mon sat on her right.
"Lets end this problem now. I need to be home with my wife. I've been a terrible wife and mother these past few days so lets finish this as early as possible." Sam announced
The meeting ended after 4 hours. Very long but at least they solved everything in one sitting. They also identified the people involved. They already contacted their legal department and every legal charges will be filed the same day. Neung took the responsibilities from Sam as soon as they made clear of their plans.
"You two should go home and rest now. I'll take it from here Sam. I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Thank you Phi." Sam said. Neung froze when she heard her sister call her Phi. Sam never addressed her informally even when they were kids. They were always so formal at home. That's how their grandma raised the three of them. She awkwardly tapped her sister's shoulder. This is a very new feeling but is very happy.
"Y-you're welcome. H-have a good evening you two. Drive safely."
Sam took her out for dinner. They even sent Ran home via company service so they can have a date night.
They are in the comfort of their home, laying on the bed. Sam is doing her night routine again.
"Hi Baby. It's been a while right? Dada's sorry for being so busy these past few days. Dont worry, when things go back to normal, i'll spend a whole day taking care and loving you and Mami. We'll go out and enjoy ourselves without the stress of work. Do you like that?" she said and trace circles around Mon's belly. Mon just observed the love of her life talk to their unborn child. A lovely sight she missed actually
" Im sure Bunny would like your plans Love. But say goodnight to her now, you need your sleep more."
Sam agreed and gave lots of kisses to their unborn child before covering it with Mon's pajama and their blanket. She then climb up and peppered her wife with soft kisses.
" Thank you again Tee rak."
"Sam, i told you that there's no need to thank me. Its my duty as your wife. Plus i missed you too so i really want to just solve that problem so we can have you back here at home."
"I love you Mon. I can't live without you and i don't want to think about that Tee rak."
"You are stuck with me forever my Love. And i love you too Sam. Forever and ever."
