"What do you want?" Sam answered the caller. She's currently in a grocery store getting her pregnant wife's yogurt drink.
"Hello to you too my dear sister." Neung answered from the other line
"I'm busy stop this nonsense." Sam replied
"Look back you disrespectful human being."
Sam rolled her eyes but looked back to see her older sister signaling her to come. She just sighed and walked leisurely slow making the older one frown and walked to meet her.
"Cant you walk fast?"
"A queen never rush Neung. And what are you doing here?"
"What am i supposed to do here your highness? Its a grocery store."
"Thanks for pointing the obvious but why here? This is too far from your home."
"Im getting something to bring to you. I am visiting Mon so i decided to buy some snacks for her. There, are we good?"
Sam just walked passed by her sister and the other just followed her. They stopped by the fruit section and Sam started to get some fruits her wife likes.
"But why are you doing this? Its not your work Sam."
"I love doing simple chores like this too, who do you think is doing my chores when i was living alone? Besides who knew Mon's likes the most other than me?" she explained.
"I get your point but can't imagine you doing this."
"Then don't, you've seen me doing groceries now, its the truth and you don't need to imagine already. Now if you don't have anything to say, i'll go ahead coz my wife is waiting. Bye." Sam then walked straight to the cashier while Neung just sighed and followed the younger woman silently.
When they arrived home, the helpers took the groceries out while Sam went to the kitchen and washed her hands. Neung followed what her sister did in silence. She is busy observing her sister, its like looking at a new Sam. A different kind of Sam. She took a seat on one of the counter high chair and waved to the older helper.
"Hi Auntie Len!"
"Good morning Lady Neung." the help greet her back
"Where's Mon auntie?" Sam asked while wearing an apron.
"She took a nap about 15 minutes ago My Lady. What are you doing?" The helper asked.
"I'll make a chicken wrap. Can you help me with the ingredients?"
"of course. She requested this again?"
"She did." Sam chuckled.  "You know her well now Auntie. She saw this on TV this morning and she asked me to make it for her. And who am I to decline her?" Sam said with a smile.
"Yes My Lady, who are we to decline Lady?" the older woman smiled
"What my wife wants, my wife gets. Food is Mon's only luxury, she wont ask for designer clothes or luxury bags and shoes from me, she rather asked for good food." Sam proudly said
"Coz there's no need to ask Sam. You'll just buy it without even asking her, that's how whipped you are." Neung added
"Guilty." Sam answered without arguing, surprising the older Anuntrakul but she realized Sam will never argue if it the truth.
They were busy preparing the vegetables while the chicken is steaming. Ran arrive from her own chores and helped the two. Neung is smiling while observing her not so little sister do prepare her wife's food. She secretly took pictures of a happy and very domestic Sam and posted it to their friends group chat.
"She's adorable! Im so proud of her!" Jim commented
"She never cooked for us though." Kade
"I somehow want to taste her food." Tee
"Should we visit? Its not their day so we can disturb them." Yuki
"Were coming Neung. Please tell Sam." Kirk
"I'm going there anyways. Mae made side dishes for them so I will deliver it." Nop
"Ok, i'll tell Sam so she can make more. Tee, bring some foods too."
"Will do Khun Neung." Tee replied
"I'll bring some dessert!" Kade volunteered
"Drinks on me! Non-alcoholic to be precise." Jim cleared
"Ok, see you later everyone!"
A plate of sandwich and a glass of orange juice appeared infront of Neung. She looked up and saw her sister.
"Eat. There's still a couple of hours, that would be fine until lunch."
"Thanks taw lek."
"Mon's still asleep so you better sit still and just eat, don't bother me here, understand?"
"Yes your highness. Thanks for the food again."
"Hmm."
"Ow your friends messaged me, they're coming for lunch. They will bring food too."
"Why?"
"I dont know. Maybe they wanted to visit? Or just ask them later. Go do whatever you need to do, i'll just be here enjoying my sandwich." Neung took a bite and instantly, her eyes disappeared when she smiled.  "You can make good food Taw lek. This is delicious."
"Of course! i made it, what else to expect?" Sam replied smugly
Neung's smile disappeared from her sister's arrogance. She took her plate and went to the living room to play with the ever active Singha.
While in the kitchen, Sam, Ran and now Auntie Kwan is making spring rolls enough for the whole household and the coming visitors. Auntie Len is making other dishes for the unplanned reunion. Just some easy to make thai food since Neung mentioned that their friends are bringing some too.
An hour and a half later, the gang arrived making the whole house in chaos which surprised Sam too.
"SAM!!!!!" Jim shouted in excitement when she personally saw her friend in the kitchen, wearing an apron and making food.
In Sam's surprise, she took a handful of lettuce and used it to shut Jim's mouth!
"Quiet! Mon's asleep!" Sam scolded the woman who's now busy taking the offending leaves from her mouth.
"Sam! Are you trying to kill me?" Jim said while coughing
"Your fault! You're lucky i took that lettuce and not that potato beside it." Sam replied
"You're lucky i love you!"
Even if Sam did that to her, Jim still gave her friend a hug. Their friends just chuckled at the two's dynamics.
"I brought side dishes from Mae and Phaw, Sam. Here, they are busy packing Mae's things for next day so they let me bring it here first." Nop arrived holding large bags of side dishes from her in-laws.
Speaking of in-laws, Mon's parents are moving in temporarily to help the couple, especially now that Mon's due date is approaching.
" Thanks Nop."
" Ta-tam! " a tug from her apron made Sam look down to see little Megan. Sam crouched down and carried the girl.
"I missed you Puffy!" she hugged the little girl tight and sniffed her sweet-powdery scent.
"I miss you too Ta-tam . Where's Mo-mon?" the girl curiously asked as she looked around
"Mo-mon and Bun-bun are still sleeping. Why don't you go and play with Singha while waiting for them?"
"Ok!" she put the girl down and off she rushed to join Neung and Singha. Everyone except Jim Tee and Kade left to join the kid.
"She's always hyperactive!" Tee said
"She's a kid, its normal." Sam glared at Tee
"You're so good with her Sam." Kade commented while looking at the running Megan.
"She's a sweet one." Sam replied and went back to her work.
"Im so proud of you Sam."
Sam curiously looked Jim.
"I didn't do anything you can be proud of today  Jim."
"This, all of this might be normal for you but for us who knew you since we were kids, this is not. We never imagine seeing you in the kitchen, in an apron, preparing our food. This is so not you Sam."
"Im doing this for my wife Jim." Sam answered but looking so offended with how her friends reacted to her domesticity.
"I know! A-and, i am, we are happy to see you like this. You being a responsible wife, doing something special for your wife. You making Mon's cravings and requests. You being patient and understanding of your wife's condition. You being so domestic or all in all just you being a wife. This is so surreal for me. This made me think of how proud I am of who you've become as a woman. Of what you've become as a partner and wife. Ow why do i felt like a proud parent here? " Jim said, while fanning her now teary eyes.
" You're right Jim. We practically raised this one so you have every right to feel proud, i do too." Kade replied and joined Jim.
" I'm just happy you are happy Sam." Tee added
Sam softens when she heard Jim. She's glad that  her friends are happy and proud of her.
"Silly idiots." Sam said but smiled at her friends. "Here, try this. I made the sauce."
The three eat what Sam hand fed them. Even with Sam's reply, Jim, Tee and Kade knew that it's their friend's way of appreciation. They are happy with that. But-
"Thank you." Sam said while looking at her friends
"Eh?" the three said in unison, surprised at their friend's sudden expression of feeling and appreciation.
"I said thank you, thanks for raising me and helping me be a good the wife i am today." Sam said while doing her work. "you've been there since the start, you've witnessed every step of my relationship. You're there to help me clean up or fix my mess. You're there as my first supporters. I haven't said this before but I appreciate it a lot, our friendship. It's very special for me. Thanks for that."
The three froze for a while before they rushed to  hug each other while crying. Sam just shook her head on how dramatic her friends are. But she knew they accepted that thanks and she knew they appreciated her gesture. All of what she said is true.  Her friends are her rock, they supported her in her good and bad times. They're always around her even if people are distancing themselves to her. They knew her more than her Grandma and sister did. They are not just friends, they are family to her.
Sam tapped thier shoulders to end their drama, her three best friends detached themselves to her but she saw them smiling. They are happy.
"I need to finish Mon's wrap or all hell will loose, go and do something there." Sam shooed them away so she can finish her work before her dear wife woke up.
Mon woke up and rubbed her belly. Her little bunny woke her up with a kick.
"Are you hungry Bunny?" another kick answered her making her chuckle.  "Ok, ok, lets go and check what Auntie Len prepare for lunch. I'm sure Dada is home already, let's look for her."
Mon looked around their temporary room. Sam decided to use the extra room downstairs as their 2nd bedroom since the trip upstairs is tiring her, even if her weight gain somehow slowed down these past few days. But Sam is also worried she might slip so they both agreed to use this room. Even the hospital bag is here and ready anytime. Mon even checked the bag then arranged it again for how many times a day. Fah refered it as her nesting stage
It took Mon some time to get up and fix herself before going out. She's still half asleep and unaware of her surroundings when she stepped out of the room and went straight to the kitchen. She didn't even see her friends who are curiously watching her wobble her way to her wife.
"You smell's like food." Mon said as she clings to her wife's neck for support.
"Morning Mami. Hows your nap?" Sam said and kissed her still sleepy wife.
"Good and will be the best when you give us food now. Your daughter is hungry already making Mami hungry too Dada. You smells like peanut sauce." Mon said sniffing her wife's neck, Sam just chuckled and swayed the both of them. They are dancing around the kitchen, Sam's way to wake her wife up. Good thing there's a soft music playing.
"Rub my back too." Mon requested
"But i'm trying to wake you up Tee rak."
"Im awake Love. Just rub my back for a while please." Mon said
What Mon wants, surely Sam will deliver. So here they are, rubbing Mon's back for 5 minutes already.
"Are you having back pains again?"
Mon nods. "Braxton Hicks too. These mild contractions is making me worry everytime." Mon whined
"Just a couple of days more Mami. Then we can have Bunny here with us and you don't have to worry about contractions and cramps." Sam said and kissed her wife's head.
"And the next thing i will worry is the sleepless nights, diaper changes and how to be a good mother."
Sam cupped her wife's face and gave her smooches which made Mon giggle.
"You are the best mother already. Always remember that Mami. And i know Bunny will say so especially when we feed her now. I made you chicken wrap with peanut sauce."
"Really?" Mon asked in excitement
"Yes and our friends are here too."
"They are?" Mon looked around and her eyes widen when she saw the whole gang in their living room, waving at her. "You all are!"
"We've been here before you even woke up Mon. Seems like you never really saw us when you went out of your room." Yuki said while holding a platter of food to bring on the table.
"Im sorry."
"Don't worry dear, we understand. Now come lets eat." Jim replied
"Mo-mon!" Megan shouted and dashed to her Auntie which made everyone reacted to stop the girl from going head on Mon. Good thing Sam immediately caught the girl before the said collision. Jim almost had a heart attack too. Sam is still carrying and hugging the little troublemaker.
"Hey Puffy, slow down ok? Bun-bun is still inside Mo-mon's tummy, if you rush like that you might hurt them both. We don't like that right?" Sam explained calmly and asked the child which the later replied with a nod. "Come, Mo-mon needs to sit first so she can hug you."
With Megan on her hip, Sam held Mon's hand and they walked to the dining area. She helped her wife sit down and looked at the kid in her arm.
"I'll put you down but you will hug Mo-mom slowly ok?"
"Yes Ta-tam. I'm sorry." the little one said while looking directly on her eyes.
"It's ok Puff. Lets be gentle ok?"
"Yes Ta-tam, Gentle!"
Sam put the girl down and Mon opened her arms to the child. Still thinking of what her Ta-tam said, Megan approached her Mo-mon slowly then hugged the pregnant woman. The little girl then kissed her soon playmate making everyone smile.
" I missed you Meg."
"I missed you too Mo-mon. When is Bunny going out of here?" the curious one asked while pointing at Mon's belly.
"Soon sweetheart."
"Then we can play already?"
"Not yet coz she's still little. She needs more time to grow up. But you can visit her and watch over her."
"Really?" eyes shining with glee
"Yes. But we need to be very gentle with her since she's still a baby. Your baby sister. You're a big sister already Meg."
The little girl's eyes widen in excitement. Megan then faced Mon's belly.
"You hear that Bunny? Im your big sister, you my little sister. Im excited to meet you little sister."
"You can call her Nong Bunny. And she will call you Phi Megan." Sam said with a smile.
"Hear that again Bunny? Call me P'Megan and i'll call you N'Bunny, ok? Deal!" everyone smiled at the girl.
"They're going to be best friends." Neung said
"Im sure of that too." Kirk added
"How about we let your N'Bunny eat first? You  should eat lunch too P'Meg." Jim said and took her daughter to sit on her lap.
"Don't call me that Mama. Only N'Bunny can call me that. Right Mo-mon?" Megan whined and Jim just rolled her eyes at her own kid.
"Yes sweetheart. Only N' Bunny will."
The day passed by so fast. All their friends are home and they were now preparing to sleep, well before Mon insisted to check on her and Bunny's hospital bags again.
"Mami you checked it this morning. It has the same contents as the last time you checked it. And here's your checklist, we have everything." Sam said and took the bags back to its original place and pulled Mon to their bed. "Tee rak, its your bedtime already. You and Bunny needs to sleep." Sam said and kissed the tip of her wife's nose.
"I know but i felt like i should check on the bags again. What if i forget something?"
"As i said before, everything is packed already. We even put some extra stuffs in there just to make sure we are extra ready. Now come, Dada and Bunny needs our alone time too. I want to tell her stories about her Phi Meg."
Mon, still feeling anxious, decided to let Sam do her thing. Its her wife's favorite part of the day and she doesn't have the heart to stop or decline her. Its Dada and Bunny time.
Sam gave her a book, then put her glasses and headset on for her. That's their new night routine. She would read and listen to music while Sam would talk to bunny about anything she wanted to and she could feel their daughter answer her Dada with kicks sometimes.
Currently, Sam is talking to Bunny, she radiates positivity and happiness. The thing she loves to see from her wife everyday until forever. This is the life she wanted and she will do everything for their forever happiness and love. She will do everything to protect this.
"I love you two..." She whispered and she knew her wife heard her coz Sam smiled at her and mouthed her "I love you too."
