Mon's POV
"Dada?"
I whispered.
"Love?" i tapped her shoulder lightly, nothing happened.
"Khun Sam..." i tried again but she's in her deep sleep.
"Samanun!" I said and In my pregnant, hormonal, craving and hungry state , i pushed my wife out of the bed.
A loud thud from her fall echoed inside our bedroom followed by her whimpering. She stood up and looked at me, sleepily glared at me rather. I just cant help but shyly smile at her.
"W-what.... H-ow..... W-hy....." she said then looked at me. "Did you just pushed me out of our bed Tee rak?"
"Sorry... But its your fault!"
She pointed at herself. "My fault? What did i do now?"
"I'm waking you up for some time now!"
I then saw her froze for some seconds and then she hopped on the bed to check on me.
"Why? Are you feeling bad? Are you ok? What's going on? Why are you waking me up? Do you feel pain?"
"Dada i'm-----"
"DID YOUR WATER BROKE? ARE YOU IN LABOR? SHOULD I CALL P'FHA?" Sam asked in a nervous voice. .
Her eyes dilating, hands roaming around my body checking on something i don't know, i can even see sweat forming on her forehead. She is panicking!
"STOP!" i shouted, again, she froze and looked at me quietly, waiting for what i will say.
"Ok, I'm not giving birth yet Dada. So can you please take a deep breathe and relax? I don't want you panicking on me now." i said then we performed that breathing exercise to ease her up again.
"T-then, why did you wake me up?" she asked
"W-were hungry." i said and Sam's jaw dropped in shock which i really understand why.
It's 3 in the morning and i cant sleep. Im trying for hours already but i really cant. I'm hungry and I am craving for something cold. Anything cold.
"You're hungry?"
"Yes."
"So you pushed me out of bed?"
"Yes."
"And then there i was panicking and all thinking you are giving birth already?"
"Not my fault you assumed." i answered
"Mami i almost broke my back." she stated.
My tears instantly fell, hormones, blame this to my hormones!
"I a-am hungry because B-Bunny is hungry, what should i do?" i said in between sobbing.
I saw her expression softens. She then hugged and swayed me left and right.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Bunny-"
"Eh????" she detached herself to me and looked at me, i can see her expression, as if she's question me if im real or not, then i realized it's about my answer.
"I mean its Bunny who's hungry, not me!"
She sighed in relief again. What the, did she really think i can eat that?
"Really, Love. Did you really think i will eat a bunny?"
"I - i m-mean your still pregnant and craving you might..."
"Ok, stop! , its gross Sam."
"You started it."
"I did not!" i argued.
She sighed again and then smiled at me.
"What does Bunny wants?"
"Something cold."
"Ok, i'll get something downstairs."
"Can i go?
Sam just nods and assisted me.
Sam let Mon settled in the living room sofa before going to the kitchen. She scanned some ice cream and she frowns when she cant spot a single container of it. She walked back to Mon with nothing.
"Is cold fruits fine Tee rak?"
"Ice cream!." the pregnant woman answered with conviction
"Were out of ice cream, Tee rak. Im sorry, dont worry i'll tell Auntie Len to always make sure we have one on stock in case you and Bunny wants."
Mon's eyes watered, making Sam rushed to her wife's side and wiping her tears.
"Tee rak....."
"But Bunny wants ice cream now. She's making me cry." Mon said in between wiping her tears and sobbing again.
Sam looked at the clock, its 3:15 am. Then she remembered something.
"How about you stay here and i'll look for your ice cream?"
"No, i dont want to be alone. Bunny hates being alone too!"
"But its late Tee rak. It's better for you to stay here. I'll wake Ran up so she can accompany you."
"NO!"
Sam took a deep breath and smiled.
'you can do this Sam. Your wife is pregnant and she' s craving.... Relax.' Sam whispered to herself.
"Ok, wait for me here, i'll get your hoodie and my wallet."
"Ok." Mon answered happily.
Sam kissed her wife' s head and rushed upstairs. She wore her hoodie, took her wallet, their phones and held Mon' hoodie too.
"Mon.... Only for you." she mumbled.
When she arrived downstairs, she saw her wife struggling to wear her white Nike FlyEase shoes. Sam squats down and help to end her wife's sufferings.
"Stupid shoes! Its supposed to be easy to wear." Mon said in frustrations.
Sam just smiled and kissed her wife to stop her.
"Arms please." She assisted her in putting her hoodies on. When Mon's head went out of the hoodies, she kissed her again and put the hood on her head and secured its strings. "Now, ready Tee rak?"
Mon smiled and nod.
They walked to Sam's rover and left to the nearest 7 Eleven they could find. The couple walked in hand in hand inside. Mon pointed the basket which Sam immediately took. She then followed the pregnant woman around. Mon's eyes were busy looking around.
"Tee rak, the freezer is there." Sam pointed at the left side of the store.
"We will go there later Love." Mon grinned and continued looking to the shelves.
"I thought we'll only be getting an ice cream?"
"Yes, before. But now Bunny wants other food too. Here, put these in." Mon passed her some cups of korean noodles.
They went to the snacks corner where her wife took one of each flavor of Lays, Cheetos and dried seaweeds she wanted. They then took some ready made sandwiches and even a couple of sausages. They got yogurt drinks and sliced fruits and the last is an ice cream. Sam even need to get another basket to accommodate the things her wife got. The staffs of the store just smiled at the two them. Sam saw her wife grinned as she gave her black card to pay, she just shook her head but chuckled after.
She can't really say no to her.
"You literally robbed me Tee rak." Sam said as they hopped in the car.
"What? I did not." Mon answered happily, a pack of barbeque flavored dried seaweeds in hand.
"You said ice cream Mami, not the whole store!" Sam answered back
"You're silly Dada. That's barely a quarter of the store. Besides its very rare for us to visit 7 Elevens so i kinda got excited?"
"Good thing i always have my wallet with me."
"OMG. What if i took all of that and you have no wallet and cant pay anything? Imagine the news about Honorable Lady Samanun Anuntrakul tomorrow." Mon teased
"Press will be having a field day and im very sure Grandma will definitely kill me for tarnishing our family name and for letting you out at this hour. And im sure it's the latter." Sam said in between laughters.
"Lets not go home then." Mon said
"What?"
"I mean lets go have a walk in a while."
Sam stopped the car and looked at her wife suspeciously.
"Did you plan this out Kornkamon?"
"What? I did not." Mon said and diverted her eyes from Sam.
"Ow yes you did! That's why you only took a tub of ice cream and a lot more of food and drink im sure we have at home."
"But Love." Mon whined
"No, were going home."
"Love, listen to me please."
"Don't use that voice on me Mon coz I will not agree with any of your plans. You can't stay that long outside. No more outdoor escapades this time Tee rak. Were going home! " Sam said determined to stick on her decision.
"I just wanted to watch the sunrise with you..." Mon whispered, silently crying too.
Sam closed her eyes. Its really hard for her to see her wife cry but she needs to be the bigger person here. She needs to take care of her wife even if it breaks her heart. She also wants to watch the sun rise with Mon, and even the sunset too but its not good for her pregnant wife to stay out this long. If only....
An idea pops in her mind. She sent a message to someone and without any words, she drove the car somewhere else.
It took them minutes, good things there's no traffic during this time. Her wife is still silent. Sam parked the car and walked out to open the door for her wife. Mon lifted her head to face her but a well lighted lobby behind her wife caught her attention.
"S-sam..." a curious and nervous Mon said
"I said no staying long outside right?"
"But?"
"You want to watch the sunrise right?"
"I thought you don't want to?"
"I never said that!" she playfully glared at her wife. "I said no more outdoor escapades at this hour Tee rak." Sam held her hand.
"But how?"
"This building offers one the best sunrise view all over Bangkok. We can watch the sunrise from the penthouse." Sam said and they walked in.
The receptionists bowed their head in respect as they entered. Of course they knew Sam, she might not visit the property for some time but everyone knew who she is and where she is heading to. The Anuntrakuls owned this building anyways. They took the elevator and they stopped to the highest floor where the penthouse is located. Mon's eyes grew big as they enter the abode. A 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom, property with a pool and glass balcony. Modern type design, mostly white painted walls and ceiling. The appliances are modern and even the furnitures and fixtures. Even the family portrait that is the first thing you will notice as you enter the high ceiling living room is updated since she is in it already.
"This is our family's penthouse. Grandma gave this to Neung as she is the heir to the family but we all know she renounced her claim when she left. Grandma then transferred it to Song, but sadly she passed away and now its under my name. I remember staying here when I don't want to see Grandma. It's kinda my safe house. But I stopped coming up here when i graduated and bought my own home, our home now. Its been a while since i've been here."
"You never mentioned about this Love." Mon said as she looked at the pictures scattered around the living room, mostly of the Anuntrakul sisters, from their childhood up to their current once. She even saw some of the pictures they took from their wedding and family dinners.
"I just remembered this place actually. As i said its been a while since i've been here. I think its Grandma who modernized the whole place. Only the two of us can decide or order for renovations of this. It looks great though. Lots of memories happened here."
"But are you fine being here? I mean about Khun Song-"
"Im fine Tee rak. I like this place a lot but i love our home that's why i never thought about this. Song's memories is never an issue why i stopped coming here. I kinda like to come here whenever i thought about her when i was mourning her death. This place helped me a lot by remembering the happy time we have here. It actually feels good to be here again."
Mon nodded and started to walk around.
"Its so beautiful up here." Mon said and walked out to the half covered pool area. She sat on the large sofa, Sam immediately sat beside her, and wrapped her arms around her.
"It surely is Mami. They restocked the fridge and there's the snacks we bought too, do you want to have that?"
"No, i just want you to hug me."
"That i will surely oblige, let me get a blanket first then we can cuddle here until sunrise." Sam said and rushed inside to get a blanket and some pillows. She then went back beside her wife and covered themselves with the blanket.
"Thank you Love."
"There's no need for that Tee rak."
"Still, thank you for being patient with me. I know you're having a hard time with my mood swings and hormones."
"Its normal Mami. I told you before right? Were always be together and will remain together forever. I will do everything for you and Bunny. Making you two happy and healthy is my top priority. Im sorry for being strict and a nagger too Tee rak, i just want you safe and being out this late is always not safe. Im sorry again."
"Its fine too My Love. I know you are just being protective and responsible of us. I know its your way of loving us. Since the start of our relationship, your actions, concern, and protectiveness is always your love language. That's how you show your love and for me its the best. You're the best wife to me and the best Dada to Bunny. We are very lucky to have you."
And there's silence. The sunrise is starting. The place they are in is now illuminated with the morning sun's purplish/orange-ish/reddish rays.
"Do you really think i'll be a good Dada to Bunny? W-what if i, you know, fail or something? " Sam asked in a whisper
" You're going to be the best Love. So what if we fail or we do wrong? We're both first time parents my love. Its a given that we might somehow fail in taking care of a baby. There's still a lot of thing we don't know about parenthood. As long as she is safe, healthy, happy and no harm done its fine. I myself is sure that i will do something wrong as a mom too but all we need to do is to correct it. Mistakes will always be there Love. What's important is we learn form those and promise that it will never happen again. They say being a parent is a learning process. That there is new lessons to learn everyday. So lets learn together ok? " Mon said as she caressed her wife's face.
" We will and we should Mami." Sam said and exhaled as if letting go of her worries and inhibitions. "Thank you for that Tee rak. I just really need that assurance from you. I want to be the best for you and Bunny. I want to always know things when it comes to the two of you. But ues you're right. We're a newbie in parenthood and we still have a lot to know and learn. Thats for that pep tlak Tee rak. What will i do without you Mami? I don't know what to do if you are not here. What will happen to me if you leave me."
" You'll be lost Love, im sure of that. Or you'll get back to that annoyingly arrogant old self of yours." Mon replied
" Yes, that old Sam." Sam think about it and shook her head.
"That why I decided to stay Love. And no one is leaving, we will always stay like this and we are stuck together forever. Are we clear?"
"Yes Tee rak."
"Good." Mon said and kissed her wife's jaw. Sam looked down and gave her wife's lips some soft kisses too.
"Good morning."
"Good morning too.
" I love you."
"I love you too."
