Sam's POV
"For the love of all the gods and goddesses and deities, Its 3 AM!" I said trying to hold myself to shout and curse them.
"Good morning Sam." Jim greeted me with a smile
"What's good in the morning? Why are you all here?" i asked and they all looked at me while i walk down the stairs.
"Coz we want to?" Kade replied and wrong answer, very wrong
"You want? Are you all crazy? It's a saturday and its mine and Mon's day and i repeat it's 3 in the morning! "
I woke up this early when i heard soft knocks on our door. Good thing Mon is a heavy sleeper nowadays. So i went out and Auntie Len said we have visitors. And im not surprised to see our 7 friends and my sister lounging comfortably in my living room for whatever reason i don't want to even know, as early as 3 am!
"But we want to spend time with you." Kade said trying to pacify me
"But i don't!" its our day and i will spend it just with my wife. Mon and i and no one else.
"Taw lek, you cant just say that. They are your friend."
"And you are my sister but i don't care." i said and glared at her.
"Can you please see reason here Sam? We -" Jim started but i ended it by holding my hand up
"You should listen to me. Today is Saturday and you all know i only spend it with my wife. We talked about this years before and i just repeated it. Its our day and there's no you! If you want to spend time with us, you wait for family day and it is tomorrow. Understand? The gate is that way, its open and ready for you to leave." i said while pointing outside
They all looks sad and i just sighed.
" I only have Mon for myself during Saturdays. Night time is not included since we are all tired of work and we just sleep, i can't even talk to her because i would go home late since im busy preparing everyone and Neung to take charge while im on my maternity leave too. Plus i have plans for us today. So give me time with my wife will you? You can have her tomorrow, i will not interfere, just give me my time." i looked at my sister. "Please Phi? "
Neung came near me and faced me. I can foresee that she will reason with whatever i said and i dont want it.
" Ok, we understand you Sam. But please listen to me also ok? We came here to actually pick you two up. Its not just us, the whole family is coming. Grandma organized a weekend getaway for us, especially to treat you after the chaos in the company. They are on their way with Mon's parents now. And we promise we will not interfere with you two. We will wait for tomorrow."
"A weekend getaway? And you never told us about this?"
"We tried to contact you last night but you are not answering. Auntie Len said you two slept early so that's the reason why."
"Where?"
"Koh Samet."
I was about to scold them when i heard Mon calling for me.
"Stay here and don't make a noise. Not a single sound. I will ask Mon if she wants to go but if she wont we are staying and you all can go and leave us alone. Are we clear?"
They all just nod and i rushed upstairs, not before glaring at them.
"Dada?" Mon called again when i entered our room
"Im here Mami. Do you need anything?" i asked when she went out of the bathroom
"I just got worried when i woke up without you."
"I just went down to drink water." i said and kissed her forehead.
"But we have a pitcher of water here." she pointed at the table.
"I felt like drinking a cold one so i went down."
"Ok Love."
"Hmmm, have you checked your phone Mami?"
"No, why?"
"Phi messaged last night. They invited us for a weekend getaway, would you like to go? Its fine if you don't though."
"Where to?"
"Koh Samet. Its a 3-4 hour drive till we reach the coast."
"Beach?"
"Yes."
"Ow, we should go Love its been a while."
"Are you sure? Will it be fine for you?"
"Im sure Love. We may stop a lot for a bathroom breaks but its gonna be fun. I missed the sea. When are we leaving?"
"We need to start preparing then."
It took us 30 minutes to prepare our things. We both decided to wear a sun dress to travel comfortably and a cardigan and blanket.
"and one more thing Tee rak. Dont freak out but there are weirdos downstairs." i said
"Weirdos?"
"Lets go for you to find out."
Mon's eyes widen when she saw our friends downstairs.
"I told you, weirdos." i just said
"Sam!" she said while laughing
The ladies rushed to greet her while the men went to get our bags.
"What car are you driving? So i can start it for you."
"The rover. Its safer." i just said
"We told Ran to prepare her things too. I have Megan's nanny with us so she has someone to talk while we are there. My husband is out of the country for work again."
"Ran can go with us. I also need to ask her about some things when she was staying at home. Go put your things in Kirk's car Ran." Neung said
"who's with whom?" i asked just to know the seating arrangements.
"Nop and Nika will join Tee and Yuki. Neung's with Kirk and Ran. I will ride with Jim and Megan." Kade explained
"Jim's driving?" i said in panic.
"Relax Sam, i have my driver with me. You don't need to panic like that!" i sighed in relief, Jim is never a good driver. And i will not trust my goddaughter to her.
"Is everything complete? We should go now. We still have a long way to go." Kirk said
I took Mon's hand and waved goodbye to our aunties. Then we took Sam's newest car, a yellow 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport she bought for our family. The reason? Its child friendly and one of the safest car in the market. Thats how protective she is of us.
"Here, i prepared you food and drinks. Drive safe Lady Sam." Auntie Len
"I will Auntie. You should get back to sleep. Sorry for the disturbance."
"its nothing we are not used of. They're your family and friends and its our responsibility and job to take care of then when they are around."
Mon and i just waved them goodbye. We drove all the way to Koh Samet with of course a lot of cr break for my pregnant wife. We also enjoyed the music and the food Auntie Len prepared.
We arrived to Nuan Thip Pier in Ban Phe after 3 hours and while waiting for the others i let her sleep more. Now Mon is asleep, her favorite pink blanket keeping her from the cold, she looks like an angel. No, she is an angel. My angel. I just want to look at her the whole time and just ignore Tee who's now knocking at my window.
I kissed my wife's forehead and gently tapped her nose.
"Hmmm?" the sound she made
"We need to go now Mami. Were at the Pier already."
Mon rubbed her eyes, trying to open it and adjusting to the morning light.
"Morning Mami, I love you." i smiled and pouted at her
"Morning Dada, i love you too." she said and kissed me. She's still half asleep though, cute.
I went down to get our bags out and someone assisted me with it. I then opened the door for Mon and helped her down.
"Sea!" she excitedly said while holding my hand. I can really see how happy she is.
We then saw a yacht with a logo of a known luxury hotel and resort in the island not far from us. The people who helped us wears a uniform with the same logo too. Its not surprising since they would accommodate our family everytime we visit. A staff lead them to their water transport and everyone are excited.
"Welcome back to to Koh Samet Lady Sam." i nod to acknowledge him, i remember him as Paradee's General Manager. "And welcome to the island Lady Mon. We are happy to finally see you here My Lady." he said to Mon who just smiled and thank him. He then led us to our family and we started our 45 minute journey to our destination.
Mon and i seated beside each other, Mon leaning to me while talking to Yuki. I just love to hold her and rub her belly. I saw her look back to me when we both felt Bunny kick. We just giggled and i continue drawing circles to her bump. I made conversations with Grandma and my in-laws. Snacks and drinks are also served to us, the fresh fruit slices, Mon's favorite, and some fresh juice.
When we arrived, staffs are all ready to assist us all. We even caught the attention of some guests.
"I know today is your day, so we will not interfere with it. I booked you two Villa 101 for your privacy and the other one is vacant for the weekend too." Grandma
"How about you all? Its fine if we join you Grandma."
Grandma just smiled and tapped my wife's face.
"Its Saturday Mon, its yours and Sam's day. We can all enjoy our family day tomorrow. You two do whatever you want and we will also enjoy here too. We are occupying the beachfront villas."
"But how about Mae-"
"We will be fine Mon. Dont worry about us. You two should go and take a rest and enjoy. Because i know your father and i will enjoy the place too." Mae assured her daughter
"And were here for them too Mon. We promised Sam that we will not interfere with your couple time while she promised that she will not interfere when we took you from her tomorrow. So its a good deal actually." Jim said
"You told them that?"
"They did, Mami. I just agreed. Besides Grandma booked the place already. How about we go and check out our place?" I said and pulled her to come with me.
Our family and friends just laughed at us then I saw my wife happily waving goodbye to them.
"Really Love? You made that deal with them?"
"Why?" Sam glared at her wife. "What's wrong with wanting to spend time with my wife during our day? Its our time today, they knew that. Im not doing wrong here. I just want to spend time with you and Bunny."
Mon laughed at her wife.
"Don't be childish Love." Mon said and hugged her wife.
"So missing you and spending alone time with you is now childish?" Sam asked
"Sam..."
"Then i don't care if they call me childish or whatever." Sam said and walked out of the house to their verandah.
"Love... Can you please come back here? I don't wanna go out yet."
"Stay there, i just need to cool down." Sam said and walked to the beach chair. Good thing there's a tree shading that spot.
Mon rolled her eyes then wobble all the way to her now sulking wife.
"You know im pregnant and Bunny is heavy right? So stop running away and talk to me."
She whisk her wife to face her then she cupped Sam face and peppered it with kisses. Sam tried to look away but she cant stop herself from smiling. Keyword: Trying but she still failed.
" Are you still sulking? " Mon asked
Sam remained silent and Mon kissed her again.
"Still sulking?"
"Hmmm." Sam nodded and earned another kiss from her wife.
"how about now?"
"Still sulking." another kiss from Mon
"Lo-----"
Mon did not finished her word when Sam kissed her, deeper and longer, until their lungs needs air for them to live.
"I'm sorry." Sam apologized
"For?"
"For sulking over a very small issue." Sam said
"Love, an issue even if small is still an issue. Now tell me, what are you really sulking about? Is it because i call you childish?" Mon asked. She knew that its not the childing thing but she just want Sam to admit and express herself more.
Sam let Mon face the calm Gulf of Thailand then wrapped her arms to her wife from behind, her hand holding her wife's pregnant belly.
" So? " Mon asked
"It's just so hectic these past few days. I haven't spend time with you and Bunny coz im too busy with all the work i need to do before my leave. When i arrived home, you are already asleep and when i leave in the morning you are still sleeping. I don't want to disturb you so all i can do is to just stare at you and kiss you both in your sleep. During sundays, we have our family and friends over so were also busy attending to them and we hardly have time together. Saturdays are the only day we can spend alone, we can wake up together late, we can cuddle and snuggle without disturbance, we can play with Singha, we can eat whatever we want as long as its healthy and i can have a one sided talk with Bunny while you silently read your book. I had our saturday planned based on that coz i missed you so much. I missed you, Bunny and Singha."
Mon felt her wife's hug tighten. Sam's head is snuggling her neck too. One of Sam's habit if she is guilty or feeling low. For Mon, its both of it already. Sam is guilty of shooing their family away from the two of them on a family vacation and feeling low coz she knew Sam is missing them so much.
"Love, honestly, i really really missed you and i want to spend alone time with you too. Believe me Love, i felt the same way too. You know how much i love to see you around me always. I felt alone sometimes but i know you are doing everything to prepare everyone during your leave, so you can stay longer with us. I fully understand you My Love. And you should never be sorry for missing us coz we are too. We missed you too. How about lets be more open to each other about this? So no more misunderstandings and such? "
Sam nodded and kissed the her wife's exposed shoulder and head.
" I love you Dada."
"I love you too Mami."
They stayed silent for minutes. Only the sound of waves, rattling of the leaves and a faint music from the main building is all they can hear. There's peace and quiet and they both love it.
