LIS: 37

That means he didn’t care if he fainted in the air as long as he could accompany her. He closed his eyes tightly when they stretched out their arms, ready to fly.
How can she remove his fear? He had accompanied her but she didn’t want to worsen his phobia. She wanted him to enjoy the experience.
"Carter, let's sing," she told him.
“S-sing? What song?" he asked and opened his one eye.
"A Whole New World. Pretend that you're Alladin and you're riding the magic carpet." She was sure he wouldn't refuse to sing especially if he grew up with Disney stuffs.
He closed his eyes again. “I don’t think it will work. I'll just pray and close my eyes until this is over. I really need to pray for my soul.”
"Try singing first. Please?" That was the only way she could think of to distract him. Cheska sang first so he could follow suit. "I can show you the world. Shining, shimmering, splendid. Tell me, Nae Sarang, when did you let your heart decide."
Off their zipline went, and Carter screamed with his eyes still tightly closed. "Nooooo! I am going to die! We’re going to fall.”
Cheska sang louder. "I can open your eyes. Take you wonder by wonder. Over sideways and under on a magic carpet ride. A whole new world. A new fantastic point of view. Wow! The river is so pretty! The air is so nice. Carter, look."
Carter looked up and his eyes widened. "No! W-we’re this high up? What if we fall…"
He’s panicking again. There was nothing he could do because their harness was secured. But he would not enjoy the experience if he only let his fear take over him. "Sing, Carter! Imagine you're on the magic carpet. Don't miss this chance. We are flying. A whole new world ..."
He swallowed hard. "A-A dazzling place I never knew. But when I'm way up here it is crystal clear that now I'm in a whole new world with you." He held his breath. "We're really flying. This is…daebak! Amazing!"
"We're like birds!" Cheska shouted happily and spread her arms.
“The view is so cool,” Carter said in amazement. "Unbelievable sights, indescribable feeling. Soaring, tumbling, free-wheeling to an endless time on the sky. A whole new world. Whoooo!"
She sang with Carter. She was glad that he was finally appreciating the view and the experience. It somehow lessened his fear.
They were singing until they reached the other side of the island. Cheska really felt like she's Princess Jasmine. She could still feel her adrenaline rush even after her feet landed on the ground and her harness was removed.
"Whooooo! It's so good to fly. Let’s do it again!" When she turned to Carter, she saw him slumped on the wooden floor chasing his breath. "How was your flight, Alladin? It was fun, wasn't it?"
He shook his head and slowly stood up. "I-I'll leave later. I-I'll just wait for my soul to come back to me." He pointed up. "I think it was still up there.”
"Would you like to go to the clinic?" she asked worriedly and touched his hand. "You are cold."
He put his arm over her shoulder and she supported him to seat on a nearby bench. "No need. I will be fine. Just give me a few minutes to catch my breath. I can't believe I just did that."
"What?"
"Fly. Ever since I fell from a tree when I was a kid, I never tried going up on high places again."
“You don't always have to be afraid. See? You could do the zipline if you wanted to. We’re fine taking the ferry but you’ve chosen to face your fear for me.” She rubbed her palms together and touched his cheeks.
"Even if you feed me shards of glass, I'll probably do it just for you," he said, the side of his lips turned up a little. "Just say the word.”
"Sweet. Kamsahamnida, Nae Sarang," she thanked him and leaned over to kiss him on his cheek.
Carter turned and her kiss landed on the side of his lips. It was just a slight brush. But she felt like a tickle flowed through her system.
“Sorry, Nae Sarang. I was aiming to kiss you on your cheek. I-I missed,” she muttered and covered her mouth with her hand. “It was really just an accident.”
He looked at her with wonder first. She could kiss him anywhere on his cheek but she still kissed him on his lips. Now it looked like she was lusting over him.
The man just shrugged off. "It's fine. There was no malice anyway. Let's just take our picture on the zipwire for your remembrance."
No malice. She should have been relieved by those words of his, but instead, she felt more disappointed. Didn’t he feel anything even a little bit?
