"But she wants you," Edward insisted. "She said that you are the best English teacher she ever had." Obviously, he was just flattering Carter. "I charge one hundred thousand won per hour," Carter answered and looked directly at Edward. "Did she tell you that?" “I thought you were friends. Why are you charging her such an exorbitant price?” Edward couldn’t seem to believe what he just heard. "I thought we were friends until she treated me like trash and called Cheska here a bitch," Carter said with a grin. “That’s where our friendship ends. And it is my call to name my price. I am the best after all. My service is not free anymore. One hundred thousand won per hour. Take it or leave it.” Cheska wanted to clap in delight and threw confetti. Carter was fighting back. He was not a martyr anymore. He was no longer a fool. Finally, he realized his stupidity over Min Ji. And it wouldn’t be a fool anymore. Edward pointed at Carter. “Hey, brown monkey. You are not even that good at English. I am an American and my English is way better than yours.” Carter laughed and raised both his hands. “Great! So teach Min Ji yourself if you are so great. Good luck with that.” He gave Min Ji a salute. "Good luck with the audition, superstar." Then Carter touched Cheska’s elbow as they walked away from the couple. He didn’t even look at the woman once. "Carter…" she called him after a while. “Do you want a yogurt drink? I will buy it,” he said in a light voice. He smiled but the joy did not reach his eyes. He was heartbroken. He was probably dying inside. She shook her head. "There's no need." “I'm sorry about what Min Ji did to you earlier. Let me buy you the yogurt drink you wanted,” he said and went to the nearby G25 Convenience Store. Cheska thought she would be happy once Min Ji was out of Carter’s life. She was wrong. Because it was not that easy to get rid of the pain. It was not that simple to forget and move on. And while Carter is hurting, she is hurting, too. And she was helpless. While he could make her happy, she didn’t know how to heal his broken heart. “ANNEONG HASEYO!” Eun Young greeted as Carter and Cheska entered the house. “How’s Nami Island?” "Anneong," the man greeted half-heartedly and went straight to his room. He did not bother answering his sister’s question. "What happened to Kuya Oppa?" the girl asked in confusion as she followed her brother with her gaze. "Is he tired?" Cheska shook her head softly. "Min Ji saw us." She told Eun Young what happened earlier - from Min Ji humiliating Carter, Min Ji calling her a bitch, and the arrival of her boyfriend. “That witch! If I will see her, I will pull her hair until she’s bald. And she hopes Kuya Oppa will still teach her. Thick face!” the young girl was obviously pissed. Cheska tapped Eun Young’s shoulder. "Do not be mad. Your brother rejected her. Actually, he even charged Min Ji and her boyfriend. He told them that if he would teach Min Ji, there should be an appropriate charge for it. One hundred thousand won an hour.” "Did Kuya really do that?" Cheska nodded and a resounding laugh came from the young girl. "So, my brother is not a lovesick fool after all." She clapped. “Well done, Kuya Oppa. We should celebrate. I will call umma.” Cheska shook her head. “She might say we're happy because Carter’s hurt. Let's just be sensitive for him.” "Araso yo, unnie," the girl whispered and nodded. "What can we do to help your brother?" The girl shrugged off her shoulders. “Nothing. Let him be. Kuya prefers to be alone and when he was having such a problem. Well, I have to go, unnie. I still have to review for my entrance exam.” Cheska nodded. Maybe she should just let Carter be. He would be fine. He didn’t want to talk to her anyway. But Cheska was still restless. She couldn’t just let him be like that. She grabbed the coat, put it on top of her pajamas and T-shirt, took her wallet and key then knocked on Carter's door. When she opened it, she saw him wearing a sando shirt while holding a yogurt in his hand. "Cheska." "What are you drinking?" “Yogurt. To help me feel sleepy faster.” “You don't drink alcohol? Soju?” Those were the usual things brokenhearted people drink. “I can't drink. We still have a tour tomorrow.” He was hurting and yet he was still able to stay professional. He still put others first instead of letting himself wallow in pain. “Why are wearing your coat? Are you going out?" She nodded. "Do you want to do videoke?" "You want to go out now? It's already eleven o'clock in the evening. Just go to rest. We still have a tour tomorrow. You said you wanted to go to a tea farm.” "We still have time for a videoke,” she said. “Come on. If you don’t come with me, I’ll go by myself.” "Wait. I'll just go get change.” “Just get a coat. I’m also in my pajamas anyway.” He just shook his head. "Are you serious?" “I saw it in those Korean dramas. They were just wearing their pajamas when they do karaoke. Besides, we’ll just sing anyway.” "You have a weird hobby,” he said but followed her afterward.
