Wyatt and I went on a vacation before we moved into our penthouse.
When school came back. We started the clinical experience for 2 years. We also took the board exam before we graduated and proceeded with our 5 years residency and now we're in our last year of residency.
"Love, let's sleep." I said when I saw him drinking at our mini bar. I walked towards him and he welcomed me with a warm hug. "You should rest. We just got out of the hospital. Drink tomorrow."
"Let me drink another glass." He said as he broke the hug. "We still have chocolates in the fridge, love."
"What should we do with the chocolates? Should we play with the chocolate syrup in the fridge?" I asked and he glared at me which made me chuckle. "Kidding, love. I'll go get one and eat." I said and about to leave when he held my elbow and pulled me back again.
"How about strawberry syrup? Chocolate is too used for us." He said which made me chuckle again. "We can do choco-almond syrup too since it's your favorite."
"Too bad, I'm so tired today. Let's just eat chocolate, while watching some movies." I said and he agreed. "That's new. You easily agreed."
"I didn't fully agree. No chocolates." He said and then suddenly carried me which made me scream. "I think I should give you chocolate first." He said and changed direction since our kitchen is on the other side. We were in front of our fridge while he's carrying me in a bridal style when our doorbell rang. "Do you expect someone tonight?"
"No. Do you?" I asked him back asn he shook his head. He walked to the door, still carrying me. "Should we look at who it is first before opening it?" I asked him but he shook his head so I unlocked the door and opened it revealing our parents and grandparents. "Put me down, Wyatt."
"Good evening. Come in." Wyatt said to them and they all walked with him, while I tapped his chest. "Stay still, love. You don't have slippers." He said so I did. When we arrived at the living room he put me down on the sofa before excusing himself.
"How are you guys?" Nana Barbara asked,
"We're fine. Just a little bit tired from the shift." I answered her as Wyatt put my slippers down and sat beside me.
"You guys didn't look tired when we arrived. Mukhang magpapagod pa lang." Grandpa George said and they laughed.
"Sorry for the disturbance. You guys can continue later but we need to talk first." Grandpa Charles said then look at our parents. "Do you guys know where your sisters are?"
"Ate! Where are you? I don't want to handle the company!" Before we could even talk we heard Issa shouting. "Dito muna ako sa bahay nyo—nevermind." She said as she saw everyone and turned her back at us.
"Isabella, stop." I commanded her and she stopped and faced us. "Come here and sit down. Where's Chelsie?" I asked and she looked back and the Chelsie appeared.
"We need you guys to convince them." Tita said so I looked at Wyatt who's currently looking so irritated. "If you guys can't, we have no choice but to give it to you."
"That's cool. Give it to kuya, mom." Chelsie said while I heard Wyatt sighed so I held his hand and squeezed it.
"Chelsie. You're the one who should handle the company. You're the one who has a major in business management." Nana Patricia said to her. "Same as you, Isabella. You guys can't just pass your responsibilities to your brother and sister."
"We already agreed about this, Isabella, Chelsie. You guys even studied business management for this." Nana Barbara said to them and then looked at me. "You should rest, Reese. You look so exhausted."
"How about me?" Wyatt asked as he rested his head on my shoulder. "I'm tired too. We both came home from a 13 hour shift."
"You guys can rest. We'll stay the night here. Only if you guys agree." Mom said so I looked at Wyatt. He usually decides about this matter.
"Sure, tita." He said to them as he stood up. I was about to stand up too but he carried me already. "We'll get going."
When we arrived at our room he laid me on the bed then he went to the bathroom. I waited for him to get out but he's taking too long so I went to the bathroom too. Only to see him taking a shower, fully naked. I went to the hot tub and opened the faucet to fill it with warm water.
"You're going to soak in the hot tub?" He asked so I nodded. He walked to me and stopped in front of me. "Then can I join you?"
"Like it's new to me." I said and rolled my eyes and he chuckled. "Shall we?" I asked him teasingly but he kissed me passionately instead of answering.
After we made love in the hot tub he drained it and filled it with new water. We washed up in the shower before hopping to the hot tub again. He is hugging me from behind as I rested my head on his chest. "Do you want to sleep, love?"
"No, let's stay here for a while. I love the feeling of water." I said and suddenly the door opened revealing Chels and Isa. It's a good thing that the hot tub has bubbles. "For god sake how many times do we need to tell you to knock before opening any doors?"
"We're sorry. I thought Kuya wasn't here." Chels said then looked at me. "We don't want to handle the company yet, Ate."
"Chelsie bukas na 'yan. Your Ate and I are resting." Wyatt said to her. "And stop entering our room. Pang ilan na 'to. Magpapalit na kami ng password ng bahay. Get out."
"Chelsie, Isabella. Where's your brother and sister?" I heard Mom's voice and soon enough mom and tita peaked in the bathroom. "What the hell are you two doing here? Get out!" Mom said and Chels and Isa left the bathroom and closed the door. "We're sorry!"
"Are you going to drink tomorrow?" I asked him and he nodded. "Can I come?"
"Is that even a question? You always go with me." He said, which made me chuckle. "Are you going to drink too?"
"Yeah, Tianna actually told me to come and drink with them." I answered him and closed my eyes. "I need to wake up early to cook them breakfast."
"We'll set an alarm. Shall we go to bed?" He asked so I nodded as I opened my eyes then stood up.
I stepped out of the hot tub and took a shower before wearing the bathrobe and suddenly everything went black. I woke up on the bed and Wyatt is already awake. "What time is it?"
"10:34 am." He answered me, which made my eyes widen. "Rest more, Graciella. You passed out last night. It's good that I catched you." He said and sighed.
"But yung breakfast, love." I said and stopped when he shushed me. "I'm fine, love. I'll go to the kitchen."
"Let's talk, love." He said so I stayed still. "Are you taking your pills every day?"
"I'm not pregnant." I said and rolled my eyes before standing up and my eyes blacked out for a second so I almost fell on the floor if only Wyatt wasn't holding me. "I'm not pregnant, Chastille. End of the conversation."
I walked to our walking closet and changed my clothes. "Are you sure?" Wyatt asked as he got my used clothes from my hand. "Should we visit an OB?" He asked so I looked at him and sighed.
"Why are you asking if I'm pregnant? Don't you want a baby?" I asked him and he sighed. "Buy a pregnancy test. Let's check."
"Love, your period is already 2 weeks delayed. I'm just concerned about you." He said and held my hand. "Eat breakfast in the kitchen, I'll just buy a pregnancy test. Do you want anything?"
"Don't you want a baby, Wyatt?" I asked him and he looked away. "I want to be a mother."
"Not yet, Graciella. So do you want anything?" He asked so I shook my head. "Nothing at all? Sure?"
"Yeah. I'll wait for you in bed. Sabay na tayo kumain pag balik mo." I said to him as we walked out of the walking closet and I tripped. "I'm fine, Wyatt."
"Are you really fine, Graciella? Should I take you to a check up?" He asked as he carried me to bed. "Just sit here, love. Sandali lang ako. Wag ka munang tumayo baka matumba ka ulit."
"Alright. Take care, Wyatt. Drive safely. I love you." I said and he kissed me before going out of the room.
It didn't take him a while and when he came back I took the test and it came out negative. "Then why did you pass out last night?"
"Wyatt. Just because I passed out last night doesn't mean I'm pregnant." I said to him and chuckled. "I was just really tired and sleep deprived, love. Our residency is ending, we can finally rest."
"Rest? What's that?" He asked and laughed. "There's work waiting for us after our residency, love."
"They gave us a month to rest before we start working at their hospital, didn't they? We can rest, love." I said to him and ran back to bed. "I'll rest so I can drink later." I said to him because I know he won't let me.
"No. Let's eat first." He said and carried me out of the bed. "You didn't eat breakfast so we should eat a lot when we get to our kitchen."
"Why are you carrying her?" Tita asked Wyatt, "she can't walk?"
"She can, mom. She's just so clumsy today so I'm not letting her walk." He answered tita as he put me down on the chair but I stood up and walked to the fridge to get chocolate then walked back to my seat but Wyatt was glaring at me. "You can just tell me to get you one."
"Chastille, stop worrying. I told you that I'm fine. I can handle myself. And there's nothing wrong with madulas ako or what." I said to him and he sighed. "The test clearly showed 1 line, love."
"You took a pregnancy test?" Mom asked so I nodded. "Pregnancy tests are not always accurate. We should visit an OB."
"Mom, 5 pregnancy tests can't lie. It's all negative." I said to her and looked at Wyatt who's staring at me. "What is it?"
"Yeah, you can't be pregnant. Not today and not tomorrow. I'm not ready yet." He said which made me roll my eyes. "I know you want to be a mother but not yet, Graciella."
"Yeah, sure. Whatever." I said and took a bite of my chocolate.
After months we finally finished our residency last week and now our friends are at home because we have a drinking session.
"We're going to work at the same hospital, right?" Tianna asked and we nodded. Well we're so lucky to work in the same hospital. "I still can't get used to how Chase and Reese are always so close. Kayo na lang kaya? Lagayan n'yo na ng label?"
"Tianna, Adeline, Bethany, Leon, Joanna. I have something to confess. I've been hiding this for almost 10 years. Throughout our friendship, Tianna." I said and all of their eyes were on me, while Pia was chuckling and said finally. "Wyatt and I are already engaged. This diamond ring is not a gift from myself. This is my engagement ring." I said as I let them see the ring I'm wearing on my ring finger.
"We've been in a relationship for 13 years now." Wyatt said to them as he hugged me. "This is not a prank. The living room was usually boring since there's no pictures so we decided to place some of our pictures. We're telling this because you guys are going to know about it anyways."
"I feel betrayed, Reese." Tianna said, "I told you that I liked Chase when we were in med school tapos girlfriend ka pala." She added, which made me laugh.
"When is the wedding?" Bethany asked,
"Next year? No final date yet but we already have the place. You guys are invited." I said to them and suddenly everything went black.
