"Reese! Chase is here!" I heard mom shout which made me run to our living room but when I arrived there she's alone. "You still get excited whenever you'll see Chase, huh." She said and laughed. Wyatt has been my best friend since we were kids.
"Mom. It's not funny." I said and sat down but quickly stood up when the door opened. "Wyatt! Happy birthday!" I greeted him excitedly as I ran towards him then hugged him.
"Thank you, Gracie." He said which made me push him away and he just chuckled. "You always call me Wyatt so I can call you Gracie. It's just fair."
"Happy birthday, Chase. You're 12 now. How do you want to celebrate your birthday?" Mom asked him as we both sat at the sofa.
"Gracie and I will just hang out at the mall, tita traci." He answered my mom which made me look at him more excitedly this time. "Don't be too excited, Gracie. Tita isn't allowing you yet."
"Mom will surely agree because it's you, Wyatt. And today is your birthday so she'll definitely agree, right mom?" I asked mom and she chuckled then nodded which made me scream and ran upstairs to change clothes. "What should I wear, Wyatt?" I asked him as he sat on my bed while I kept on looking for my clothes.
"Anything you're comfortable with, Gracie." He said and we kept quiet. I was looking for clothes for a long time when I looked in the mirror and noticed him staring at me with a big smile on his face. "Done picking?"
"Why are you staring at me like that? Your eyes are screaming too much happiness but nevermind I already picked my clothes." I said and let him see the black long sleeve shirt and black trousers. "I'll go and change so we can spend a lot of time together." I said and went inside my bathroom.
When I got out Wyatt was already asleep on my bed which made me chuckle. He waited for me and fell asleep again. I sat down on the side of my bed and just watched tv, I didn't bother to wake him up.
"Reese? Chase?" I heard tita Theresa called us and the door opened. "Reese. He fell asleep again? I thought you guys will hang out?"
"He waited so long for me again and fell asleep but it's fine, tita. We'll go after he wakes up." I answered her and looked at Wyatt. He's so cute.
"He's handsome right?" Tita asked so I nodded. "Are you fine with him being your husband?" She asked which made my eyes widen and tita chuckled. "Don't mind me. Let me wake him up." Tita said and walked towards us while I just followed her with my eyes and couldn't utter a word. I was shocked.
"Mom. Why are you here?" Wyatt asked her as he sat on the bed then looked around until our eyes met and he immediately smiled. Here we go again with his big beautiful smile. "Are you ready? Should we go?" He asked so I nodded and stood up. "We'll get going, mom." He said to tita as he walked towards me then held my hand.
"The credit card is on your bodyguard. Take care guys." Tita said as we left my room. Wyatt and I often go out without our parents and just with our bodyguards and we actually like it because we think it's more convenient. "What time are you guys going home? Text us if something happened."
"You guys won't eat dinner outside. We'll eat here. Your grandparents would be coming over." Mom said and we nodded because we can't do anything about it. "Go home early. Take care guys."
Just like Wyatt said we went to the mall and went straight to the cinema to watch movies. "Let's go shopping." He said as we left the movie theater. "I want a pair of sneakers."
"Then let's go so we can go home after it." I said and yawned while he chuckled. "I'm tired already."
"I know. Let's go faster so you can rest already." He said and dragged me with him. "What color of sneakers do you want?" He asked as we entered a designer shoe store.
"Why would I decide the color of your sneakers?" I asked him and looked around. "You should start picking."
"Bakit ako lang? We'll buy sneakers. So pick a color already." He said, so I shook my head in disagreement. "Gracie. Mom knows about this so pick a color already."
"Go with white ones." I said and pointed at the white sneakers.
"You don't want purple?" He asked which made me glare at him. "Why are you glaring? I'm just asking."
"Purple? Would you wear purple sneakers? I know that we would be buying the same thing so let's settle with white."
After buying sneakers we went home and went straight to the dining room. "Happy birthday Chase." Our grandparents said as the both of us sat down.
"They really look great together." Nana Pat said and everyone agreed. She's my grandmother.
"I agree with you Patricia. Our family would be great together." Nana Barbara said and then Tita called her. She's Wyatt's grandmother. "Why? There's nothing wrong with what I said, Theresa."
"Where's Isa and Chelsie?" Grandpa Charles asked mom. He's Wyatt's grandfather. "Aren't they going to eat with us?"
"Call the two, Chase." Grandpa George said, so Wyatt stood up and so did I and followed him.
"Isabella." I called my little sister. "We'll eat dinner."
"You can play again later, Chels." He said to his sister but his sister didn't listen to him. "Gracie, help me."
"Isabella, Chelsie. Go to the dining room." I said and the two just looked at me which made me raise my eyebrow. "What? Are you guys just gonna look at me?"
"Bakit ka galit?" Isa asked but I didn't answer her and just looked at her. "Tara na nga, Chels. Galit na si ate." She said and they ran away from us.
"Galit naman pala." Wyatt said and chuckled as he put his arms on my shoulder. "You're cool. Anyways, thank you."
Years just went by quickly and now we're already in college taking up BS Biology. I was looking around because Wyatt is not here yet and our class will start three minutes from now. And when he entered our lecture hall he's talking to a girl which made me raise my eyebrow. Don't tell me he's late because of the girl.
"Gracie." He called me as he ran towards me leaving the girl behind. "I bought you some chocolate bars." He said and put them on my desk but I didn't mind him and just looked at the girl. "She's talking about you, that's why I was talking to her."
"Anong gagawin ko?" I asked him and rolled my eyes as I sit properly. "Umupo ka na."
"You're not gonna greet me?" He asked as he sat beside me. "Graciella. Are you mad at me?" He said as he leaned forward.
"Why would I be mad at you? Muntik ka lang naman malate kasi mukhang natutuwa ka sa babaeng kausap mo." I said and he chuckle which made me look at him curiously. "Why are you chuckling?"
"Are you jealous?" He asked so I shook my head. "Are you sure that you aren't jealous?" He asked teasingly which made me glare at him. "Alright. You aren't. You're just mad because you saw me with a girl."
"I'm mad because you almost got late, Chastille." I said then look forward. "Anyways, happy birthday."
"Thank you. Don't forget that we'll eat dinner together alright? Then we'll watch a movie like we always do." He said so I nodded. "Study well, minor." He said and chuckled while I cursed him.
"Damn you, Chastille." I cursed him and he looked at me. "What? Don't look at me like that, Wyatt. I don't like your eyes. Ganyan din tingin mo sa babae kanina."
"What look? I don't look at other girls like I look to you, Gracie." He said and smiled widely.
"Don't smile at me like that. That's how you smile at her too." I said and he laughed. "Chastille, stop laughing. You're pissing me off."
"My best friend is jealous. Kawawa naman." He said and started teasing me and stopped when our prof came and started lecturing.
When all of our class was finished Wyatt and I went straight to a restaurant to eat then went home after it.
"You guys are here already?" Mom asked as I kissed their cheeks. "Hindi kayo nanood ng cine ngayon?"
"I'll go upstairs." I said and excused myself. I heard Wyatt calling me but I didn't mind him and just walked. I took a quick shower then when I came out of my bathroom Wyatt was already sitting at my bed. "I'm not mad at you because there's nothing for me to be. I'm just tired." I said as I lay on my bed and closed my eyes.
"You aren't? But I said to them that you're mad because you saw me smiling at another girl." He said which made me open my eyes and sit down then glare at him. "I'm just kidding. How about the movie we are supposed to watch?"
"Let's watch it on my tv." I said and gave him the remote before laying down again. "I'm sorry but this is all I can give to you on your 18th birthday. I'm so tired."
"Don't say sorry. This is enough and I understand." He said as he lay beside me. "Ms. Minor is tired and I should understand."
"Fuck you." I said and covered myself with my comforter while I heard him laughing. "Tigilan mo ko sa kakaminor mo ha. Naiinis ako sayo."
"I shouldn't be settling just watching at the tv. I should've just insisted on watching it at a movie theater since we didn't do anything yesterday and it was valentines day."
"Edi sana nakipag date ka sa girlfriend mo." I said and chuckled. "You know that I was tired yesterday right? And it's not my responsibility to be with you in valentines day."
"I'll get myself a girlfriend when you turn 18." He said, which made me look at him. "What? When you turn 18 you won't depend on me anymore. Baka mas selosa ka pa sa magiging girlfriend ko."
"You have a plan on dating someone when I turn 18? Why not now?"
"I can't. I still have Ms. Minor depending on me." He said which made me slap his arms. "Ms. Minor, can you come with me tomorrow? We don't have class so you can't turn me down."
"Mr. Legal age, stop calling me a minor." I said and we both laughed. "Anyways, where are you going?"
"Jaxon wants me to go with them for lunch. He said he'll bring his girlfriend and I don't want to be a third wheel." He said which made my brow arched. "I think you know his girlfriend. Piara? She's also in our class."
"Go with your date hindi yung ako yung dinadala mo sa mga friend gathering mo." I said and he just chuckled and ask if I'm coming. "Yeah? May magagawa ba ako?"
"Thanks. Kaya mahal kita." He said and hugged me, while I pushed him away. "Let me hug you."
"Akala ko ba manonood tayo?'
"Change of plans. Let's sleep." He said and got a pillow then hugged it. "You said that you're tired right? So sleep. We'll go out tomorrow."
"Go to the guest room, Wyatt." I said but he didn't listen to me and just closed his eyes. "Chastille naman."
"Graciella. Let's just sleep. I won't play with your face, I promise." He said and chuckled which made me slap his arm again. "Your bed is so comfortable so let me sleep."
"You'll sleep like that? Kanina mo pa 'yan suot." I said to him and he looked down on his shirt before sitting down then removed his shirt and lay down again. "Wyatt malamig." I said and he just ignored me and covered himself with my comforter so I didn't mind him anymore. I don't mind him shirtless in front of me. He's always like that throughout our friendship.
"Goodnight, Gracie." He whispered then commanded Alexa to turn off the lights. "Graciella, goodnight." He said and even peeked on my face which made me chuckle.
"Rest well, Chastille. Goodnight."
