As Tobias leaned in closer to Scarlett, his eyes held a penetrating gaze that seemed to see right through her. Though he had let go of her hand, his presence was still palpable, and she could feel his warm breath on her skin. The overpowering scent of his fragrance filled her senses, and despite trying to maintain her composure, she couldn't help but feel a surge of anger and frustration boiling inside her. His close proximity made her feel vulnerable and exposed, and she began to feel trapped under his gaze. "Little traveler, there is something else that you need to know. Before I caught you, I just received a message, a warning from an intruder who has infiltrated my palace. This intruder sent me a note, along with a dagger, as a sign of their threat." Scarlett tried to keep her expression neutral, not wanting to reveal her true intentions for seeking revenge. She knew that if Tobias discovered her true motives, he would never let her go. "What does this have to do with me?" she asked, trying to sound as innocent as possible. Tobias leaned in a low voice. "The note and the dagger were aimed at me, I cannot ignore the coincidence between your intrusion and this threat. I must take into account the chance that you're either working with the intruder or that you are the intruder." Scarlett felt a wave of fear wash over her. She realized the importance of being cautious with her words and not revealing her true motive. She said, "I had nothing to do with this in any way. I have no idea who this intruder could be." "I ask you once again. What are you doing here?" Tobias demanded, his voice low and menacing. Scarlett swallowed hard, trying to keep her voice steady. "I told you, I'm just a traveler passing through. I didn't mean to intrude." Tobias expressed his skepticism by snorting and then said, "So you claim to be just a traveler who found herself in my palace by chance? That's a hard pill to swallow. Or perhaps… you’ve come to see me for some reason?" His tone was both mocking and tempting, as if he knew something that Scarlett didn't. His piercing eyes remained fixed on her, making her feel uncomfortable and uneasy. Despite this, she tried to maintain her composure, though her mind was racing with thoughts and suspicions. Her eyes widened in surprise and suspicion. "What are you talking about? Why would I want to see you?" She replied, trying to mask her true intentions. She knew she had to be careful with her words and actions around the lycan king, who was known for his cunning and sharp mind. "Why do you deny it? There must be a reason why you're here. Could it be... for something… more intimate?" Scarlett's expression turned wary and cautious. "I don't know what you're suggesting," she said, her voice laced with suspicion. She took a step back, distancing herself from him. "I'm just a traveler passing through. I have no interest in anything personal with you. What are you implying?" Tobias took a step closer to her, a glint of amusement in his eyes as he spoke. "Oh, nothing. I don't mean to imply anything, but I find you quite... intriguing. And I have a feeling that you're hiding something from me. But maybe... that's part of the... allure." He spoke in a seductive tone that strangely made Scarlett feel drawn towards him, despite her suspicion and reservations. She tensed, her hand inching towards the dagger she kept hidden in her belt. "I don't know what you're talking about." Tobias chuckled. "Come on, Scarlett. Don't be shy. We could have some... fun. And who knows? Maybe you'll even learn something new about yourself." Scarlett stood her ground, her eyes locked with his'. Her body was tense, ready to defend herself at any moment. She knew she couldn't let her guard down, not even for a second, around this man who seemed to have a hidden agenda. Despite his smooth words and alluring voice, she remained resolute in her mission to uncover the truth about her pack's massacre. The thought of her lost loved ones fueled her determination, and she refused to let anything distract her from her goal. She knew that Tobias cannot be trusted and that she had to stay vigilant at all times. The tension between them was palpable, as she stood her ground and Tobias continued to circle around her, trying to find a way to break down her defenses. As the minutes ticked by, her patience began to wear thin. She knew that she had to act fast if she wanted to escape from him. But at the same time, she couldn't help but feel a strange pull towards him, despite her better judgment. His smooth words and alluring voice were like a siren song, tempting her to let her guard down and trust him.
