Chapter 12: Under Watchful Eyes

Joel nodded thoughtfully as he asked, "I understand. What do you want us to do, My king?"
"I need you to investigate this intruder and find out what her intentions are. Find out everything you can about her!" Tobias said firmly. "I need to know more about how she managed to get past our security measures. I also need your help in figuring out who she is, what she wants, why she's here, and if there are any others involved. I cannot let her roam free in my palace, especially with all the recent incidents that have been happening. I want to put an end to this before it becomes a bigger problem."
Joel furrowed his brow, a hint of concern in his voice. "What about the intruder? What should we do with her in the meantime?"
Rowena spoke up, her voice calm and measured. "My king, may I suggest we question the prisoner directly? We may be able to gather valuable information from her if we approach her correctly."
Tobias pondered for a brief moment before answering, "I've confined her to the chamber while I investigated her intentions and questioned her myself. Ensure that the guards monitor her closely. We cannot afford any more unexpected incidents."
Rowena nodded in agreement, her expression serious. "Understood. We’ll gather all the information we can and report back to you as soon as possible."
Joel nodded in agreement. "Understood, My king. We'll ensure that she remains under close watch."
Rowena said, "My king, if I may suggest again, we should also increase security measures in the palace to prevent any further intrusions. We can tighten the checkpoints and conduct thorough background checks on all palace staff and visitors."
Tobias nodded in approval. "Good idea, Rowena. I want to make sure that this doesn't happen again. The safety of the palace and its inhabitants is our top priority."
Joel added, "I'll also order a search of the palace grounds to ensure that there are no other intruders or hidden entrances."
Tobias looked at his advisors with a sense of satisfaction. "Excellent. Let's make sure that everything is in order. We cannot afford to let our guard down."
Joel and Rowena bowed before leaving the main chamber to carry out their orders, leaving Tobias alone with his thoughts. As they left, Tobias couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that there was more to this intruder than met the eye, and he was determined to get to the bottom of it. He knew that the intruder posed a threat to his kingdom and that he needed to uncover the truth about her intentions before it was too late.
Scarlett, on the other hand, was caught off guard by the sudden turn of events. She had thought that she had evaded the king's forces and was on the verge of freedom. But now, she was back to square one, trapped in the palace and facing a hostile king.
Her mind raced as she tried to piece together the events that led to her capture. She couldn't help but wonder how Tobias had managed to catch her. She had been so careful and cautious, but somehow, he had still managed to find her.
It was then that she realized that she had underestimated the king's cunning and intelligence. But at the same time, she was frustrated with herself for underestimating him. She knew that if she wanted to escape and uncover the truth about her pack's massacre, she would need to be even more careful and vigilant than before.
As she sat in the chamber, she started to plan her next move. She knew that she needed to be even more careful and vigilant if she wanted to escape and uncover the truth about her pack's massacre. She started to think about all the possible ways she could get out of the palace and find the evidence she needed. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to succeed. She just needed to wait for the right opportunity to present itself.
For a few days, she was left alone with her thoughts with only a maid who often send some foods and drink. She couldn't shake the feeling of anger and hatred towards Tobias, whom she still believed was responsible for the massacre of her family.
Every day, she thought of ways to escape and make Tobias pay for what he had done. She was determined to make Tobias suffer as he had made her suffer.
Despite her burning desire for revenge, Scarlett knew that she needed to be patient and bide her time. She spent her days plotting and planning, carefully considering every possible escape route and potential weakness in the palace's defenses.
As time passed, her frustration grew. She felt trapped and powerless, unable to take action against the man she believed was responsible for the death of her pack. But she refused to give up hope.
