Chapter 11: Little Intruder

Tobias paced back and forth in his main chamber, his mind racing with thoughts and plans, his eyes flickering with uncertainty and suspicion. He knew that he couldn't keep Scarlett confined forever, but he also couldn't risk letting her go until he was sure of her intentions.
A few moments earlier, he knew that the intruder who had sent him the message was still lurking in the palace, and he was determined to catch them. He had stationed guards at every entrance and exit, and was monitoring the palace closely. The intruder must have had no time to escape, and he was determined to catch them before they could cause any more trouble.
He ordered his guards to be on high alert and scoured the palace from top to bottom, searching for any sign of the intruder. But as the hours passed, it seemed as though the intruder had vanished without a trace.
Tobias couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in the pit of his stomach. He knew that whoever had infiltrated his palace was not to be underestimated. He had to stay vigilant and be prepared for any possibility.
As he sat in his chamber, deep in thought, his eyes suddenly fell on a nearby window. It had been left slightly ajar, and he realized with a jolt that it could be a possible entry point for the intruder.
With renewed determination, Tobias sprang to his feet and made his way towards the window. He peered out into the darkness, scanning the surrounding area for any sign of movement. But everything was still and silent.
He sighed heavily and turned back towards his chamber, feeling defeated. He had to come up with a new plan if he hoped to catch the intruder and put an end to their mischief once and for all.
His heart raced as he watched the figure move through the dimly lit corridors. He had been on high alert since the intrusion and was determined to catch the culprit. As the figure entered one of the chambers, Tobias quietly slipped into the room and hid in the shadows. He watched intently as the figure moved about the room, searching for something. After a few moments, he realized that it was the intruder he had been searching for.
With a sudden burst of energy, Tobias stepped out of the shadows and grabbed the intruder's hand. The figure spun around, surprised, and Tobias found himself staring into the eyes of a beautiful young woman. The two stood there in silence, each sizing the other up.
After a tense pursuit, the intruder was finally caught. To his surprise, it was a young woman - the last person he expected. He couldn't help but feel a strange sense of admiration for her daring and ingenuity.
But he quickly pushed those thoughts aside and reverted to his duty as a king. He interrogated her, demanding answers about her intentions and purpose in the palace. Despite her protests of innocence, Tobias refused to believe her and kept her under close watch.
Tobias sat down in his chair, his mind racing as he tried to come up with a plan for the intruder he had captured. After a few moments, he decided to summon Joel and Rowena, his most trusted advisors.
As the guards left to call them, Tobias paced back and forth in his chamber, deep in thought. When Joel and Rowena arrived, he wasted no time in getting straight to the point.
"Yes, My king," Joel greeted him with a slight bow. "What seems to be the problem?"
Tobias leaned forward in his chair, his eyes fixed on Joel and Rowena. "I have summoned you both here today because I need your expertise on this matter. As you know, we had searched the intruder in the palace. I just confined one to my chamber as I caught her sneaking around.”
Rowena's eyes widened in surprise. "The intruder is a woman? That's highly unusual. Have you alerted the guards, My king?"
Tobias shook his head. "No, I haven't. I want to keep this matter quiet, at least for now. I have a feeling that this intruder might be working with someone else, and I don't want to give them a heads up."
Joel nodded thoughtfully, his face serious. "Understood, My king. Do you have any leads on who this intruder might be?"
Tobias shook his head. "Not yet. All I know is that her name is Scarlett and she was able to sneak past our guards undetected, which means she must have some skills. I want you to conduct a thorough investigation and find out everything you can about her."
"As you command, My king." Joel bowed respectfully. "I'll gather my best men and start the investigation right away, My king. We won't rest until we find out who this Scarlett is and what her intentions are."
Tobias looked at him with a steely gaze. "Good. I want regular updates on your progress. And I want her kept under close watch at all times. We can't afford any more surprises."
Tobias knew that he couldn't let his guard down, not with an intruder on the loose in his palace. He had to be cautious and vigilant, or risk putting his kingdom and his people in danger.
