CHAPTER 8

Yuna realized that the maid wasn't going to be much help. She put the book back on the shelf and left the study.
Downstairs, Kim was having no better luck. He had checked every room in the basement, but there was no sign of anyone.
The night air was chilly as Detective Lee, Attorney Yuna, and Officer Kim decided stood outside the house of Mr. Johnson.
As they stood outside the house, Detective Lee turned to the others. "I think we should stop here for tonight. There's nothing suspicious happening for now, and we don't want to draw attention to ourselves."
Officer Kim nodded in agreement, but Attorney Yuna remained silent. Detective Lee noticed her hesitation and turned to her. "What's on your mind, Yuna?"
Attorney Yuna hesitated for a moment before finally speaking up. "I saw something inside the house. Something strange."
Detective Lee's eyebrows furrowed in concern. "What did you see?"
"It's hard to explain," Attorney Yuna replied. "It was just a feeling, a sense that something wasn't right."
Detective Lee and Officer Kim exchanged a look, both of them silently agreeing that they couldn't ignore Attorney Yuna's intuition. "Okay, I understand if you don't want to tell us. But remember we are team," Detective Lee said.
As they were about to leave, Attorney Yuna's phone rang. It was her mother, and it is the perfect timing because she wanted to meet with her urgently.
"Hi, Mom," she said when her mother answered. "Can we meet and talk? There's something I need to discuss with you."
"Of course, dear," her mother replied. "How about we meet at the coffee shop on Main Street in an hour?"
"Sounds good," Yuna said, trying to keep her voice steady.
As she hung up the phone, Yuna couldn't help but wonder what her mother would think when she told her the truth. She had been keeping a secret from her family for years, and she knew that once she revealed it, there would be no going back.
As Detective Lee, Attorney Yuna and Officer Kim separate with each other
Yuna arrived at the coffee shop early and ordered a latte, trying to calm her nerves. She looked around nervously, waiting for her mother to arrive. When she finally saw her mother walking through the door, Yuna's heart skipped a beat.
"Hi, Mom," Yuna said, standing up to greet her.
"Hello, dear," her mother said, giving her a warm hug.
They both sat down at a small table in the corner of the shop. Yuna took a deep breath and began to speak.
"Mom, there's something I need to tell you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I've been working on a case involving a man named Mr. Johnson. Do you know him?"
Yuna's mother looked at her, a worried expression on her face.
"Why do you ask?" she said, her voice low.
Yuna took another deep breath before continuing.
"Mr. Johnson is connected to a case I worked on a few years ago," she said. "I found out that he's been involved in some shady dealings, and I found a book in his house, the same book as yours."
Her mother looked at her, concern etched on her face.
"Yuna, I don't know anything about Mr. Johnson," she said. "But if you're worried about your safety, you need to take precautions."
Yuna shook her head.
"Mom I need to gather more evidence before I can take any action."
Her mother nodded slowly.
"I understand," she said. "But please be careful, Yuna. Your safety is the most important thing."
Yuna nodded, knowing that her mother was right. She finished her latte and stood up to leave.
She knows that her mother don't want to tell her anything that her mother knows. So she will make a way to know the truth.
Didn't Attorney Yuna know that Mr. Johnson hire a man that will watched over her in every time.
Mr. Johnson had grown increasingly suspicious of Attorney Yuna in recent days. And so, he had hired a man to keep a close eye on her to knows if Attorney Yuna knows something about his big organization and transactions.
Mr. Johnson's phone rang. He answered it, and a voice on the other end spoke in hushed tones.
"Mr. Johnson, I've got something you need to see," the voice said.
"What is it?" Mr. Johnson asked.
"It's a photo of Attorney Yuna talking to a woman. I don't know who she is, but I've got a feeling it's something important."
Mr. Johnson couldn't believe his luck. This was exactly what he had been hoping for. He instructed the man to send the photo to him immediately, and he hung up the phone.
Mr. Johnson paced back and forth in his office, his eyes glued to the surveillance footage playing on his computer screen. Mr. Johnson. His eyes widened as he studied it closely.
In the photo, Attorney Yuna was sitting on a cafè, talking to a woman with long, flowing hair and a black leather jacket. The two women were engrossed in conversation.
"Are you sure about this?" Mr. Johnson asked the man who's on the phone
"Yes, sir," the man replied. "I saw Attorney Yuna talking to a woman outside a coffee shop. I took a picture of them."
Mr. Johnson leaned in to examine the photo. In it, Attorney Yuna was standing next to an older woman, their faces close together as they spoke.
"I don't believe it," Mr. Johnson muttered, shaking his head.
"What is it, sir?" the man asked.
"That woman," Mr. Johnson said, pointing at the photo. "That's Attorney Yuna's mother."
The investigator raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Her mother? What's the big deal?"
Mr. Johnson sighed heavily, sinking into his leather chair. "Her mother was my first love," he said, his voice low and pained.
The investigator's eyes widened in understanding. "I see."
Mr. Johnson nodded. "I've never gotten over her. And now, to see her daughter thriving, it's like a slap in the face. I need to know more about this."
The man nodded, taking out his notebook. "I'll look into it, sir."
Days passed, and Mr. Johnson anxiously awaited the man findings. Finally, he received a call.
"Sir, I've found out some interesting information," the man said. "It turns out that Attorney Yuna's mother and you were involved in a relationship back in college. But now she is eventually married to Attorney Yuna's father."
Mr. Johnson felt a pang of sadness and regret. "I never knew that," he said quietly.
Mr. Johnson make a way to talk to Yuna's mother. And go to a place where her mother work.
Mr. Johnson approached the building where Yuna's mother worked.
He entered the building, Mr. Johnson kept his head down and tried to blend in with the crowd. He didn't want to draw any unwanted attention to himself. He made his way to the reception desk and asked to see Yuna's mother.
The receptionist looked at him suspiciously before picking up the phone and dialing a number. "Mrs. Ishida, there's someone here to see you," she said into the receiver. After a few moments, she hung up the phone and directed Mr. Johnson to take the elevator to the tenth floor.
Mr. Johnson stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the tenth floor. As the elevator rose, he couldn't help but feel nervous. He had no idea what to expect when he met with Yuna's mother.
When the elevator doors opened, Mr. Johnson was greeted by a woman in her late fifties with dark hair and tired eyes. She looked at him warily before motioning for him to follow her.
As they walked down a long hallway, Mr. Johnson couldn't help but notice the security cameras lining the walls. He wondered what kind of place Yuna's mother worked at.
Finally, they arrived at a small conference room where Yuna's mother motioned for him to take a seat. "What do you want?" she asked sharply.
"I need to talk to you about Yuna," Mr. Johnson said, trying to keep his voice steady.
Mrs. Ishida expression softened slightly. "What about her?"
"There's a rumor before that you were pregnant before we end up," Mr. Johnson said.
Mrs. Ishida face went pale. "Who told you that?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"It doesn't matter who told me," Mr. Johnson said. "What matters is whether or not it's true."
Mrs. Lee looked down at her hands, which were folded tightly in her lap. "Yes," she said, barely above a whisper. "It's true. I was pregnant before we break up"
Yuna's mother took a deep breath. "Yuna is my daughter. And I want you to leave her alone. Don't come near to her."
"I knew about your business dealings, and I was afraid of what might happen if she got too close to you. I want to protect her."
"Yuna is also my daughter!" he thundered. "You had no right to keep her from me!"
"You can't take Yuna, and I can't just give her up to you."
Mr. Johnson's fury rose to new heights. "You don't have a choice!" he spat. "I'll take her by force if I have to. You have no idea what you've unleashed."
With that, he stormed out, leaving Yuna's mother alone
Mr. Johnson was a man of his word, and he wasn't going to let anyone stand in his way. He had already sent his best men to track down Yuna, and it was only a matter of time before they found her.
Yuna had no idea what was going on. All she knew was that she was being chased by men in black suits, men who seemed intent on capturing her. She ran as fast as she could, her heart pounding in her chest.
As she ran through the darkened streets, she wondered what would happen to her if she was caught.
