Chapter 113

A truck stopped outside the pack house, and from there, Leila and Zeke got off. “Thank you, mister.” the latter said before pulling Leila into the Sapphire compound.
But they immediately halted when they saw several unconscious and bloody bodies lying on the ground.
“This is the reason Bradley can’t answer my call... They are also under attack!” Leila murmured with a trembling voice.
“Then this place is not safe for you!” Zeke retorted. Although he tried to calm down, he couldn’t stop shaking with fear and anxiety.
“No. We need to find your brother!” Leila exclaimed with determination. “Don’t worry; your brother is strong... I’m sure he is okay,” she added to calm Zeke. Leila is worried about the effect of the disturbances on Zeke, but she doesn’t have a choice; they can’t go without finding Bradley, aside from the fact that they have nowhere else to go.
Leila and Zeke entered the compound discreetly. But no matter how careful they were, other intruders still saw them.
“Look at our luck... I never expected to see the girl who could change my life!”
Leila was horrified seeing the sneer on the man’s face while the eyes were focused on her. “Don’t you dare come near us!” she threatened, while trying to show courage. “Damn it! My power is not back yet; how can I defeat this guy?” I mumbled, as I thought of a way to avoid the danger we were facing.
“Hmm... Now that I found you, do you think I will let you go? Huh! Instead of giving you to my alpha-I rather take you as mine!”
After this remark, the guy pounced and caught Leila. However, the guy was careless; he did not see a danger in Zeke’s person.
“Ugh!” the guy fell to his knees and twisted when Zeke’s kick hit his ball.
“Leila, let’s go!” Zeke quickly pulled Leila away from the guy.
“Leila, we need to get you out of here... I think they are here for you—”
“I don’t care! I will not leave Bradley in this place, especially when I cause this crisis!” Leila shot back, her eyes narrowed as she looked closely at Zeke. “Listen to me... When we see a member of the Sapphire pack, I want you to join them and leave this place.”
“I will not leave you here. Bradley and I made a deal to protect you always, so I would rather join you than escape!” Zeke strongly refused.
“Zeke, they will not hurt me. You heard what the guy from earlier said; they want me. That is why I am certain they needed me alive...” Leila reasoning with conviction.
Not long after, Leila saw a member of the Sapphire pack; like them, they are cautious. “Listen to me... Once you get out of here and get to a safe place, call me... Understand?” Leila thought before hugging Zeke tightly.
“Make sure you won’t get hurt... Remember, my nephew is inside you, so be careful!” Zeke uttered with compulsion.
Leila smiled, seeing Zeke’s concern for her baby; she couldn’t hold back the tears. “Don’t worry. Your nephew is strong—We will survive this test... Now, go!”
Zeke was forced to run towards the Sapphire member. Meanwhile, when Leila saw that her little brother was safe—she started walking away from the place. “ need to find Bradley... I can smell his scent, so he is near.” Leila mumbled, while looking around.
Walking cautiously and slowly, Leila reached a part of the compound where she could hear banging and shouting. “What is going on in that place?” She whispered while hiding in the lush greenery.
“Damn this bastard! He is so thoughtful!” one alpha roared in disbelief. The nine of them are already panting; they also have a lot of bruises.
“Don’t stop! If you let him rest, his strength will recover quickly!” Alpha Connor retorted while folding his arms to one side. He is the only one who doesn’t join the fight and stays watching.
“Huh! Easy for you to say, because you’re just watching! If you’d helped us, we would have taken down this bastard a long time ago!” one alpha remarked as he was pulled back by Bradley’s attack.
“Huh! Alpha Connor will never engage in a fight. He knows he won’t win! That’s why he uses you all—The alpha of the Paragon pack will forever be number one because he hides behind his pack and takes advantage of his opponent’s weakness!” Bradley exclaimed with taunting as he dodged a series of attacks.
On the dark side, Leila covered her mouth so she couldn’t make a sound. “What should I do? Bradley can’t win against them all! “ She mumbled with concern. Her heart ached even more when she saw Bradley falling to the ground and the five alphas kicking him repeatedly.
For the first time, Alpha Connor left his position and approached Bradley, who was now lying on the ground. “You never saw me fight, so how did you know I’m weak?” Alpha Connor asked sarcastically while pressing his foot on Bradley’s chest. “The reason I don’t engage in a fight is that I don’t need to... I have a Beta and pack that can do all the hardship—that is the power of the true alpha!” The other pack members moved away to give way.
“Huh! Don’t make me laugh! Beta Connor of Fiery pack!” Bradley responded, even though it was difficult for him to speak. “I know your story before you became the Alpha of the Paragon pack!”
Alpha Connor pressed his foot on Bradley’s chest while clenching his teeth." Fiery pack is superior to all groups. That’s why being a Beta is something I’ve never been ashamed of."
Bradley grabbed Alpha Connor’s foot. “Of course, you will never be ashamed because you used the name of Alpha Arnold Aragon to establish the Paragon pack!” he exclaimed, and with the remaining strength, Bradley thrust his claws into Alpha Connor’s thigh.
“Ahh!!! You bastard! I will kill you!” Alpha Connor roared, and raised his claws to dig into Bradley’s eyes.
Leila saw this incident, so she couldn’t think anymore. Concerned for Bradley’s life, she stood up and screamed. “No!”
