The whole day, Mo Shan was sulking in the office. Employees were shivering in their seats. None dared to go in front of their boss. They heard that every department head got scolded in the morning. So, they were trying their best not to fall on their boss's radar.
Someone managed to find out that Yun Xi was absent from work that day. Now, they could guess that their boss's anger was due to the absence of their lady boss.
Aside from employees, there was someone else who was trying not to fall on his boss’s radar. He was none other than our precious Assistant Zhang. But given his position, he could not avoid his boss for a long time. Soon, his intercom rang. “Assistant Zhang, come inside.”
For Assistant Zhang, that voice was akin to a thundering from hell. He cried in his heart for his bad luck. He took a deep breath and walked towards Mo Shan's office, praying for the best.
He knocked on the door but got no response from inside even after waiting for a while. So, Assistant Zhang decided to 1enter by himself.
First, he slowly opened the door without making any noise and picked inside to observe the situation inside. Inside, Mo Shan had a pen in his and which he was rotating in a circular motion. He was looking at a single place, seeming to be deep in thought.
When Assistant Zhang saw his boss's look, he decided to leave from there pretending to be ignorant. But before he could close the door completely, an icy voice reached his ears. “What? Are you planning to rebel, Assistant Zhang?”
Assistant Zhang shivered at the cold voice. He abandoned his thought of running away from there and hastily went inside. He sheepishly explained, “How can you say that, Boss? I am your most loyal subordinate. Even after I die, my ghost will belong to you, boss. Also, I thought you were in deep thought, so I decided to drop by later.”
Mo Shan looked disgustingly at his assistant. He then pointed at a couch across himself and spoke, “Sit.”
“No, it’s fine, boss. I am fine standing here and serving you.” Although this was what Assistant Zhang's mouth said, his heart was saying something else. “How can I sit across this cold person? Wouldn’t I die from cold?”
He was decisive on not sitting there. But, his decisiveness crumbled into pieces when he got a glare from Mo Shan. He quickly sat down and smiled fawningly. “Joking. Hehe, boss, I was just joking.”
Assistant Zhang was waiting for Mo Shan to talk, but Mo Shan fell into complete silence. Time tickled by, but Mo Shan spoke no words.
Assistant Zhang couldn’t bear the silence anymore. He broke the silence. “Boss, did you fight with Lady Boss again?”
Mo Shan glared at him again. This time, Assistant Zhang didn’t dare to speak anymore. And, the room fell into complete silence again.

After a while, Mo Shan spoke. “Assistant Zhang, my friend recently faced a problem and he doesn’t know what to do. And now, he is asking me for help. But, I also don’t know how to help him.”
Assistant Zhang’s face lit up when Mo Shan finally started to talk. He replied in excitement, “Boss, tell me what happened. I will help you solve the problem.”
Assistant Zhang felt Mo Shan observing him with wary eyes. In order to let Mo Shan believe in his words, Assistant Zhang hit his chest proudly. “Boss, I can really help you. Don’t you remember that just a few days ago, I helped you solve the fight between you and the lady boss? Boss, believe in me. I am the best person to provide the solution.”
Mo Shan finally started to believe him. He asked, “My friend made his wife angry, and he realized that he was wrong. He also wants to apologize to his wife, but he doesn’t know how to. What should he do?”
In his excitement, Assistant Zhang blurted out, “What? You made lady boss angry?”
Mo Shan gave Assistant Zhang a dangerous stare. He gritted out, “It’s my friend! Not me. Are you helping or not?”
Of course, Assistant Zhang knew that his boss was lying about a friend. As if he had any friends. But since his boss was acting, he should act along too. “Oh, I am sorry, boss. It's a mistake on my part. Right, so your friend wants to apologize to his wife but doesn’t know how to?”
Mo Shan nodded.
Assistant Zhang thought solemnly for a while. “It’s not that difficult. Since he doesn’t know how to apologize, he can learn. But, the problem is that it’s not easy to console an angry wife.” He looked at Mo Shan and asked, “Boss, is your wife.... hmm I mean your friend’s wife extravagant type?”
Assistant Zhang himself knew the answer to it, but he had to ask it since they were acting.
Mo Shan answered in a second. “No, she isn’t. She is a very down-to-earth type of person.”
“Then it is going to be even more difficult. If she was just some extravagant person and loved money, she would have been consoled by some expensive gifts.”
Mo Shan started becoming irritated, “Do you have to tell me this? Are you going to give me a solution or not?”
“Boss, of course, I will.” Assistant Zhang replied in an instant. “Boss, how about your friend organize a candle-lit dinner, personally decorated by him? Simple girls like everything that is prepared from the heart. After that, your friend can apologize for his wrongdoings. Tell him to apologize more earnestly and to never repeat that mistake again. I am sure the girl will forgive him then.”
Mo Shan considered the idea for a while and asked, “Are you sure this will work?”
“Of course, boss. Don’t you believe me?” asked Assistant Zhang agitated.
Mo Shan gave him a look that literally screamed that he didn’t believe in him.
Assistant Zhang wanted to cry at his boss’s expression. What did he mean by that look? Did he forget who helped him with Lady Boss just a few days ago?
He could only complain silently in his heart.
“Fine.” Mo Shan spoke. “If it really works, then you get a double bonus.”
Assistant Zhang nearly jumped in excitement. This was already the second time he was getting this month, all because of the lady boss. “Lady Boss is really my lady luck", he thought.
“Boss, don’t worry. It will surely work.” With that, he left from there.
After Assistant Zhang left, only Mo Shan remained in the office. He opened his laptop and started searching how to prepare for candle-lit dinner.
After he was done searching, he called Butler Li to arrange some things. After spending some more hours at work, he left for home around 3 in the afternoon.
He was determined on making Yun Xi forgive him. He left with determination.
Employees could finally breathe a sigh of relief after their boss left. They were dying to gossip with each other and now finally, they could. As soon as Mo Shan's car drove away, employees got together to gossip.
“Did boss fight with Lady Boss?”
“Did lady boss do anything like cheat on our boss?”
“Are they divorcing?”
All types of gossips could be heard. The group chat was all flooded with gossips and assumptions. Finally, Assistant Zhang couldn’t bear it anymore and typed in, “If I receive even a single notification here in group chat, your salary this month will be deducted!”
As soon as his message was sent, the group chat fell into silence. Assistant Zhang finally nodded in satisfaction.
He had many works to finish, so only Mo Shan had left. He was also invited to the birthday party, but he was planning on going there after work.

After Mo Shan left, Yun Xi was disappointed for a while. But later, she forgot about it since she was going to bake a cake with her darling baby.
She brought Xiao Hui to the kitchen and they began to bake 3 tier cake by themselves. Yun Xi grasped Xiao Hui's hand and guided him into applying the cream to the cake. After around 1 and half hours, they were done. Yun Xi then put the cake in the refrigerator and helped Xiao Hui wash his hands.
That day, Xiao Hui had no class. So, he was even happier to accompany his mother all the time. He followed Yun Xi like her tail, almost everywhere she went.
The decoration in the hall was also done with the help of event organizers and maids. Mother Mo was scrutinizing everything carefully. She allowed no mistake. After all, it was her grandson’s birthday party.
Father Mo was also arranging separate rooms for VIP guests. And as usual, Mo Sheng was lazing around everywhere while searching for some snacks. When Mother Mo caught him munching on snacks secretly, she smacked his head from behind. “Aren’t you ashamed of acting like this? It’s your nephew’s birthday and you are busy lazing around. Go and see where your help is needed. If I see you again sitting freely or hiding, see what I will do to you.”
Mo Sheng pouted and pretended to help here and thereafter he got his mother's scolding.
Old Master was also sitting on the couch in the hall, observing the preparations. Butler Li was standing by his side while guiding the maids and servants on their tasks. He kept on checking the lists he prepared in case he missed anything.
When Yun Xi and Xiao Hui came out after baking the cake, Old Master Mo called them to rest. “Xiao Xi, Xiao Hui, come rest here for a while. Don’t tire yourself too much, Xiao Xi.” He then turned to Xiao Hui and asked, “Xiao Hui, dis you have fun baking the cake??”
“En", Xiao Hui nodded his head continuously. “It’s fun, Great-grandpa.”
Yun Xi then asked, “Are you tired, Xiao Hui? Do you want to eat something?”
“Mommy, Xiao Hui is not tired.” Xiao Hui replied cutely.
A bit far from them, Mother Mo and Father Mo were observing their warm interactions. Mother Mo was especially worried since many guests were coming that day, and she didn’t know what Yun Xi will have to face. It’s true that those socialites won’t dare to offend Mo Family, but still, they will take chances to nit-pick here and there.
Father Mo patted his wife to relieve her distress. “Why are you worrying so much? Yun Xi managed to win our hearts in just a few hours, so I am sure she will manage to win over guests too.”
Mother Mo nodded, but she was still worried. She decided to talk to Yun Xi later.
Soon, it was lunchtime. Maids served snacks to everyone. Xia Hui decided to eat it by himself. While they were having lunch, Butler Li's phone rang. He took the call seeing it was from Mo Shan. After the call, he became both surprised and excited. He crouched down to whisper the news into Old Master Mo's ears. Old Master Mo’s eyes also lit up in delight.
Seems like his grandson finally got the idea.
After lunch, everyone got back to their tasks again.
Around 4, Mo Shan returned. He learned that everyone went to dress up from one of the butlers. He also decided to get fresh and dress up.
With that intention, he walked to his room and opened the door. But, he didn’t expect to see the scene that he was seeing right then.
