Opening my eyes later, I glanced at the wall clock and was shocked to see that it was already 2pm in the afternoon.
What the heck...!
How could I have slept for so long?
Then I remembered Aunt Naomi's words.
Perhaps that's why.
I stood up from the bed , wore my bathroom slippers before heading to the bathroom where I changed.
Coming back to sit on my bed, I felt a little hungry.
On a normal day, I would have gone down for breakfast casually but, now?
I didn't just feel like going.
I didn't know why I just felt...
I can't explain the feeling in words to be honest.
It's totally indescribable I must admit.
Admitting to defeat, I turned on my phone before lying back on bed and soon began reading a novel I had been reading recently on an online platform.
The novel was titled, Caged ( survival )
It's about a teenage girl who got kidnapped by the bandits along with her other school mates who were all girls.
They were stuck in the kidnappers' den where the evil people treated them all, the way they liked.
And, at the end of the day, Out of the over hundred students that were kidnapped by the bandits, Only the female lead and two others survived.
One thing to be noted was that, The female lead managed to escape unscathed.
Unlike the others, She wasn't sexually assaulted or abused... Though she also starved like the rest, she was not hurt Physically.
The kidnappers when asked why they didn't touch her, their reply was.
<< As much as we wanted to. We couldn't. >>
And when the officers inquired why, the other said.
<< We couldn't because there was always a light around her. A light that shone so brightly that we couldn't comprehend what it was. And anytime we try to forcefully go closer, we often feel dazed by the light so we just stopped attempting to touch her >>
" Oh... But, since you guys Couldn't hurt her physically, you could have still done it in another way, right? "
" Indeed. We tried that many times but, anytime we plotted against her, our plan usually fails. "
" Once we wanted to just kill her off as she was always making trouble for us by protecting and instigating the other girls. But, just as we were about to pull the trigger, we were stunned to realize that there was a being in white who looked exactly like an angel standing right in front of her. "
" Another time, we attempted to poison her with food, but unfortunately the plan backfired as the food was mistakenly consumed by one of us which led to his death. "
" Since we weren't able to deal with her, we transferred all of our anger to her friend who wasn't so protected. We actually expected the latter to die from all the harsh punishments but she survived it all which is something that still dumbfounds us until now. "
" So what's your conclusion about this? " The officer asked.
" Well, we have concluded that there's a greater power than the one we believe in. We've believed and trusted in our gods all our life but when the girl came along, we began to doubt the extent of the power of our god as the girl was untouchable no matter how much we tried. "
" And, the most amusing thing about all of this is that the girl appears to be very innocent and must, I say. She isn't aware of the power and authority she possesses. "
" Authority? What do you mean by this? " The Inspector inquired.
" Well... The girl herself might not be aware of this, but there was an immense amount of power in her tongue. "
" Can you explain this? "
The bandit laughed in self mockery before replying, " Once we tried to hurt her best friend in front of her, despite her pleas we didn't listen to her and just as we were about to proceed with our plan. We heard her authority filled voice from right behind us. "
<< Stop right there! You would do no harm to my Friend! >>
" As soon as her words landed. We all became rooted to the spot. No matter how much we tried to move but we couldn't. It was like a force was holding us entirely to the ground. It was really an unexplainable feeling. "
" So how did you get back up later? "
" We weren't particularly released. We just felt free after the girl had released her friend from our hold. "
" Oh... So if that's the way it is, how were you guys able to hurt her friend in the past? "
" Well... We were only able to do that when the girl wasn't around. "
" Oh... "
" So what do you think about the girl, Mia and the power that she carries? "
" I think she's a girl of purpose. She was born to win to rule! To battle and to win. She is in existence to create havoc for people like us and defeat us. And, I hate to admit but she'll be one of the greatest females in her generation. "
To say that the inspector was stunned by the bandits words would be an understatement..
For the bandit to say this much about the girl : Mia. He couldn't help but wonder just how much power and authority the latter carried.
But if so, Why was she even kidnapped in the first place?
Why did she have to fall victim to kidnapping?
I guess they've forgotten that everything happens for a reason.
