Months later.
Today when I received my admission letter from Cambridge University.
I felt something that I haven't felt before... I felt so happy that I practically began shedding tears of joy.
Thankfully, Brother was so caring and understanding, he embraced me and patted my back gently as he allowed me to cry as much as I wanted to.
I felt very overwhelmed, so overwhelmed by it all...
I still found it very difficult to believe that I had just been accepted into my dream University... Cambridge.
It feels like a dream come true.
I still find it very difficult to believe that I who failed my final exams last year could gain admission into Cambridge University.
It feels so surreal.
So surreal...
Not only did I get the best results in the gcse exams and entrance exam into Cambridge in the whole country I also got an honorary award.
Who could believe that?
Just last year, I was tagged a failure by everyone around me.
Just last year, I was called dumb... Stupid... Unintelligent.
But now?
I actually gained admission into my dream University.
Never in a million years would I have expected this result!
You know, I had been dreaming of attending Cambridge since I was 13.
But you know, it got to a point when I began to forget about the dream as it feels so unachievable.
Then, I was an average student who could not even dream of becoming among the top ten best students in my class due to my grades.
I was someone who wasn't known by my teachers.
Who wants to know an average student anyways?
Everyone prefers to be acquainted with the best students rather than the average ones.
Just last year, I was totally insulted by Nancy Williams for shameful results.
Well, I no longer refer to her as my mom as she isn't at all... I had even changed my name from Sushie Williams to Sushie Dalton.
Almost everything has changed about me since I woke up.
I am no longer that shy girl who hides behind others.
I am also no longer that Depressed girl who feels sad Every Time.
I have grown to become the opposite of what I am before.
And guess what?
My first novel will be published and released to the public next Month!
I was able to finish the manuscript in just three months!
Perhaps it's because the plot had been in my mind for a while so I didn't have much trouble with writing.
The book is entitled, The Beauty of Dreams.
I know the title sounds a little cliche but well, does that really matter?
You know, when I was doing some minor editing on the manuscript, I actually thought the book would not be accepted by publishers but I was wrong as it wasn't only accepted by one publisher but ten!
I actually had to make a choice between the ten of the best publishers.
You know, my brother was with me every step of the way.
Whenever I feel like giving up, he was always there to reawaken the writing spirit within me.
Lest I forget, he was also my number one fan and my beta reader.
He always made sure to read the chapters as I wrote.
It's really amusing since I actually thought he wasn't a fan of reading books.
But I was wrong....
He was there for me and with me every step of the way.
Sometimes I wonder just how many nations I saved in my past life, ( if there's one. ) to deserve a wonderful and an amazing brother like him.
I have been told many times by people just how lucky I am to have a brother like him.
You know, I don't even need others to tell me this before I realize just how lucky I am...
I would never cease being thankful to the Lord for giving me a brother like him who cares so much about me.
" Here's your ice cream and your popcorn... '' Brother said as he handed me the homemade bowl of popcorn and ice cream.
" Aw.. thanks.. "
" You are welcome. " He said taking a seat beside me, he was also with his bowl of popcorn and ice cream.
Soon, the movie we were planning to view began loading and soon it began playing.
I sat down straight and began watching the movie with full concentration.
As it was on a holiday we decided to watch a movie as we usually do every holiday.
The movie on going was a Christain movie titled, Overcomer.
It's about a girl who was asthmatic but yet, she joined a race competition.
Logically, her decision was a totally stupid one.
But well... She believed that she could win the competition despite her ailment and guess what? She really did.
The movie was a very inspiring one which teaches to never give up!
There's a saying which says, as long as you can think it then you can do it!
So never give up on your goals and dreams! You can do it! If you really want it, then fight for it! Go for gold!
The sky shouldn't be your limit but your starting point, you can do it!
Dreams are meant to be achieved and not to stay as dreams forever... So, go hunt for your dream!
