Chapter 11 Dungeons

"Jake, Alec. Take her to the punishment room. Just leave when you are done. I want to be alone."
Evander's voice was so low, they could hardly hear. Jake and Alec looked at each other. They didn’t have a punishment room. Only a correction room, and that was where they left her. Alec glared as he kept her on the available seat, pointing at her with a flashlight. The room was entirely dark, except for his light. She glared back.
"You have the guts to glare at me, You.."
"Alec, lets leave."
Jake said, holding his hand. Alec fought it out of his grip.
"She killed all of us, Jake. She killed us, burnt down our houses, she betrayed our Alpha. You just want to let her be? You know Evander. He wont ever do anything to her. He's hurting, all because of her, and he wont ever retaliate."
Jake sighed.
"We are full moon. We are peaceful, we are serenity. We are unity, we are harmony. We are love and trust and virtue. We are forgiveness and understanding. We are full moon."
Alec who had been fuming, was considerably calmer now, but he still looked ready to strangle her.
"Let's go, Alec. Its okay."
Alec let himself be dragged out by Jake and she was all alone. She heard the door close, then open again and she heard the sound of a switch. The lights came on, just as she heard the door close. The lights had been too bright for her unprepared eyes, so she had closed them.
Slowly opening them, she took in the room. It was white, just like where she had been for a month now. Glass floors, white bed. She was still in Evander's home. She sighed and sat on the bed. Evander. She couldn't take the sound of his voice out of her head. The way he had asked her why. The way he had told her he loved her just that morning. The way he treated her with so much love. She tapped her head. She had to escape. No matter what.
"I know, I know. They are all dead and Isabella is currently in the full moon correction room."
Beta Chris furrowed his brows in confusion. The fact that Cole already knew what hapoened surprised him, but more so was the fact that he hasn't done anything about it. Or even looked like he wanted to.
Cole let out a laughter that sounded more like a howl. Beta Chris was stunned. The men they had sent to help Isabella with her conquest, had all been found in front of the split moon boundaries, dead. No one knew how they got there.
"Did you just say full moon?"
"Uh huh." Cole hummed. He was so ppeased with the outcome of Isabella's hotheadedness, and couldn't keep it out of his voice
"But no one ever attacks full moon. How did you allow her..."
"Shush, please. Don’t yell at me. You're going to make my head ache."
He flung his long legs off the bed and stood, shirtless, in only a pantsuit trouser.
"I knew she was going to split moon. That erratic fool had given me the opportunity that I had been looking for." He laughed again, then turned to Beta Scott.
Beta Chris moved forward, a little menacingly.
"How dare you do this to her?"
"How not dare I? I am the alpha of this pack, and when someone deliberately kills the pack's soldiers, that person is considered an enemy of the pack."
He laughed, tapping his chin with a finger. He dramatically looked up to the white ceiling, his lips pursed in fake pity.
"Now, how I do I break this bad news to my beautiful, beautiful Isabella?"
"Please stop."
The howls came again, even louder than before. She clasped her hands to her ears, shuffling behind the door. The howls kept on coming till dawn. She hadheard howls before, different howls from places she had poached, but this one howl, from this one wolf, from this one pack, left her heart shattering with everything minute she had to hear it.
"Its Evander."
"I know, Jake. There is nothing we can do for him right now."
"God, this breaks my heart. The last time he was like this, it was when his parents had died, and he..."
"Shh... Don't say it, Jake, please. Let's stay close, in case he needs us, and I know he will."
Jake nodded, his hands in his pockets, looking up to the moon.
Isabella sighed as the howls stopped at dawn. Even without the howls, she knew she wouldn’t sleep. For the first time in her life, she was being judged by her conscience, and she hated how it felt.
