"Well..."
Evander interrupted him.
"You should take the other house, brother. Since you'll have a wife now."
He said, dropping the towel he held and looking at Sandra who smiled sheepishly.
"Are you sure? Mum.."
"Don’t.. They wouldn't want you to stay away from home and you know that."
Alexander nodded as Alec clapped his hands, laughing hard, while Jake threw his hand over Alexander's shoulder.
"Well, big brother is back! Let's toast to that."
Everyone laughed, agreeing.
"Can you please shut up. A woman is trying to sleep, PLEASE!"
They froze, looking towards Isabella who had covered her ears with pillows. Alec scoffed, clearing his throat, obviously to no good. He had already started shouting gibberish before Evander realized what he was going to do. He pressed his index finger and his thumb as a last resort, making a silencing sound in the air. All fell quiet. Evander, more surprised that his magic had worked, since he had only been given two hours with it, than the fact that Alec was glaring, unable to speak or move. He soon recovered, however and pushed everyone out of his room. They got their tongues back once they stepped out.
"Bella...Bella."
"Hmm??? Let me sleep."
He shook her harder.
"Bella...hear me out."
She sat up groggily, looking at him with half closed eyes.
"Just see."
He said to her as he turned to a pen on the bedside. He lifted his finger at it, and the pen followed suit. She opened her eyes wide, wiping them with the back of her hand.
"Do it again".
She said coming closer. He did it again, this time twirling it in the air and laughing, not believing that he was this happy that he didn’t lose something he never really thought much of. She laughed and hugged him, wrapping her arms around his neck as he sighed in relief, thanking the moon Goddess for giving him another chance to maintain the heritage of his family.
"So, they have finally decided to grace us with their presence."
Alec said, making funny faces at Isabella. Evander looked to his side, only to see her doing the same.
"Well...what's the occasion?"
Evander asked, pulling out a seat for Isabella. He waited till she sat, then pushed her gently back in, before sitting down himself.
"Everything. We are all here, happy and alive. We need to celebrate life, success and all blessings."
Evander nodded.
"Wait. Who cooked? Or is this take out?"
Alexander glanced towards Jake and alec.
"We..we..all did it."
Alec stuttered out andSandra tried to hide her laugh. Evander simply nodded and served Isabella Before pouring out wine for everyone.
"Let's toast".
They clinked their glasses at the middle, sipped and continued dining, wining and chatting. Isabella saw the girl she had told to get out, but was too distracted and too tipsy to do anything. It was around midnight, before everyone decided to go home, while Evander and Isabella walked, hand in hand to their room. Evander fell asleep in less than ten minutes, and Isabella stayed up for a little while, before she slept off too.
Isabella woke up to harsh sun rays coming into the room through the massive windows. She stood up, closed the windows, before noticing that Evander wasn't in bed. She figured he would be in the office, so she shrugged it off and went to brush her teeth. She stood for a good twenty minutes there, staring at the mirror, watching her wolf take over and grow fangs. When she was done fooling around, she changed to a towel, and was about to take a bath, when she heard noises coming from Evander's office. she froze, and tiptoed to the door of the room and pressed her ear to it so she could hear them clearly. Even though the office was a bit far, with a toilet and a shared balcony separating them, she could hear distinctly, a female voice.
She looked down at herself. She was wearing a towel and a head gear. It wouldn't do. She sifted through his clothes, hoping he had a fairly long button down shirt. Once she found it, she rolled it, sat on it, turned it, till it was creased badly, before she wore it. She scattered her hair, and by the time she was done, it looked like a hell of a night.
She stepped out, checking for either Alec or Jake, most importantly, Alec, cause he could just be the bane of her existence. Seeing that the coast was clear, she turned towards the opening so she was out in the shared balcony, where she could enter his office or his toilet. She chose the toilet. The balcony was a bit tight, and when she looked down, she saw just how high up she was and for the first time, shuddered. But did she stop? No. She continued, holding the railings, walking carefully.
"Woman!"
She heard from way below and craned her neck to see who it was, only to see Alec looking like he was about to fly up there and drag her down.
"What are you doing to ruin my alpha's life now? Is what you have done not enough?"
He was squinting up at her, holding his hands on his waist.
"Mind your business, you annoying beta!"
She shouted back and rolled her eyes before covering the short distance and entering the toilet, as quietly as she can.
"That damned woman!”
Alec said, stomping his feet.
"Evander's in trouble, I swear"
She turned on the shower a bit, wetting her hair, before taking a towel and as if it was the most natural thing in the world, walked out into his office, wearing only his shirt, and drying her hair with a towel. She made eye contact with the woman who was sitting cross legged on Evander's table and made a face of mock surprise.
"Oh, sorry. Didn't know he had a visitor. This isn’t something any woman would want to see early in the morning, is it?" Evander couldn't believe his eyes.
