Natanie stood broken, shattered and restless in front of the building. The gentle whoosh of the breeze, blew her hair back. “Hi.” Fredrick said behind her as she turned to glare at him. “What do you want?” She asked him. He slowly walked up to her as she immediately turned to face him. “I asked you a question, what do you want from me?” She tried to control her anger. Fredrick sighed dejectedly seeing the look on her face. After everything that has happened, he still felt stupid and foolish. Despite him being a coward, he could swear that he truly loved Natanie. He just didn't know what came over him. “Natanie, I know I hurt you and I admit I've done so many things behind you and I honestly won't stop apologizing. I'm really sorry.” He said. Natanie scoffed. “Sorry? Did you just say sorry? Fredrick, I loved you…” She paused as she pushed back the tears that threatened to stream down her face. She has obviously been a crying mess. “It sounded strange to me at first when we were together but I bet I honestly came to love you even though we the and our differences.” She paused again for a moment and continued. “And I trusted you, Fred. Even though the handwriting on the wall said that I shouldn't, I actually did. I gave you my heart and you broke it, and my world, you shattered it like it wasn't important to you.” She whispered the last part. He shook his head. “It is.” He looked really sad but she didn't seem to care. “No, no, no Fred, you proved it to me that it wasn't important to you.” “It is important, it truly is.. in here.” He dramatically touched his chest and his gesture made her eyes focus there. Then he took her hand and placed it on his chest. “There Natanie, you feel it?” Natanie remember those times they'd spent together, from the excitement to the misunderstandings and betrayal. She shook her head. “I feel… nothing!” She resolved and instantly removed her hand from his grip. His heart broke and his eyes searched hers urgently. “There's nothing between us Fred and I would really appreciate it if you stop coming around or trying to contact me.” She sniffled. He took her hands in his. “Please, don't say that Natanie..” He whispered. “There's never been anything genuine from the very beginning and there will never be.” She concluded as she slipped her hands away from his grip and walked away. “Natanie?” He called after her. “Don't do this.” She turned to look at him tiredly. “It's already done.” She muttered. “We. Are. Done.” She emphasized each word as she continued to walk away, leaving him dumbfounded. ** Kingsley found his way to Harnik's apartment and wasted no time in identifying himself as the reporter. Kingsley had found a way to contact him as a private investigator on the search of his daughter. Harnik discovered that his daughter Olivia, is Natanie and had told Kingsley over the phone about his daughter's new identity. “Hello sir.” Harnik greeted. “Hello young man.” Kingsley responded and walked into Harnik's apartment. “Please, have your seat.” Harnik gestured. “Thank you.” Kingsley made himself comfortable as Harnik also settled himself. “You are the reporter?” Harnik said as Kingsley stared weakly at him. “Sounds strange? It's been over years of searching but to no avail.” Kingsley sounded frustrated. “I'm tired, I'm exhausted but I have to keep searching.” “I have a question, how sure are you that your daughter was stolen?” Harnik raised a brow. Kingsley sighed. “As daunting as it sounds, I'm deluded to think that it's all a lie…” He paused. “When Olivia was born…” “Natanie.” Harnik corrected. Kingsley still found it hard to believe but he nodded slightly to Harnik's correction. It was hard to accept that Olivia is Natanie. “I only had the chance of holding her in my arms and then just like those inane scenes in movies, my daughter was no where to be found. I was told even Madina disappeared after her fight with her sister, Cathera.” He grimaced at the memory. “Do you know what the fight was about?” Harnik asked. “No I don't.” Harnik sighed at the confirmation that Madina is Natanie's real mother. It had been a hunch that obviously needed confirmation and there it is. He shook his head. The situation was obviously in reverse, Cathera is Natanie's aunt and Madina is Natanie's real mother. “It's complicated.” Harnik furrowed his brows. “I know. But I have to find Olivia…” He paused. “Or Natanie. I have to find my wife and my daughter.” He concluded obviously impatient. “I know. I do understand, that's why you have to remain calm. We'll get this sorted.” Harnik assured him. Kingsley nodded. “It’s really hard.” Kingsley muttered under his breath as he rose to his feet. “To calm down?” Harnik sighed. He resolved he had to help in some way. “I know where to find Madina.” Harnik blurted as Kingsley's eyes glued to Harnik. “Or better still, I know where she is.” “You do?” Kingsley stared with wide eyes and Harnik nodded. ** Harnik had disclosed about Kingsley’s visit to Dave who looked like he was finding it hard to keep his head straight recently. He went over to Madina's. “Natanie was great at the dance today.” Dave said to Madina as he took little gulps of his wine. “It's obvious you really like to watch her dance.” Madina looked amused. He glanced at her. “She's awesome.” “It's no news she is.” She added proudly. “Just like any daughter would be.” Dave blurted, he couldn't stop himself. Madina swallowed hard. “Yes, I'm proud of her.” Madina shook her head trying to contain her emotions. “Natanie's suffering silently all by herself and I worry for her. The other day she cried and refused to tell me why she did.” “She cried?” Madina nodded. “Please, don't leave her alone. Help her.” That was enough for Dave to decide he'd go after his heart.
