Chapter 48

Himari's surprise party ended quickly. After eating, Vincent and Dice presented Himari with all of the gifts on the table. After that, the two quickly left, saying they had planned dates with the ladies they had met in a bar the night before. Lester and Lily also left, stating that they still had a dinner reservation at Himari's restaurant in Quintel City. Gael soon followed, saying he needed to continue his investigation. Except for Jin, everyone else had left.
"Aww. How sweet of my boyfriend. You do not want to leave your girlfriend alone in this place." Himari cooed and blinked her eyes, coquettish. "So why don't we go outside and do exactly what they want us to do?"
"What are you saying?"
"Don't play dumb on me. You know very well why the others left us in a hurry."
The other managers want them to spend more time together. It was probably Lily's idea, as she enjoys the romantic elements found in romance novels.
"Anyway, please assist me in putting all of my gifts inside these large paper bags. I will call Akito later to collect these gifts." Himari said, handing Jin a large paper bag.
"Do it yourself."
"Nuh-uh. You will help me pack this gift so we can finish this as soon as possible. After this, maybe we can go on another date!"
"You were attacked last night and you still want to go out again?"
"So what about it?"
"Aren't you worried that another incident will happen today and your life is going to be in danger again?"
"Nah. You should know that in the world we are living in, dangers are lurking around us everywhere. There is no difference whether I stay inside my house or I go out to have some fun. They are still there waiting for a chance to kill me."
"Are you not afraid to die?"
"Why should I become afraid of it? Everyone will die anyway. The only difference in everyone's death is time."
Then she moves closer to Jin, wrapping her left arm around his neck. Then he gently slides a finger down his cheek towards his chin. Himari slowly lifts her gaze to Jin's eyes.
"So, would you like to go on a date with me, or would you rather stay here? We can probably borrow one of these rooms and have some fun. What do you think?"
"You're crazy." Saying this, Jin pushes Himari a little to get up and takes her arm off of his neck.
"I will still take that as a compliment." Himari said with a smile.
Jin simply clicks his tongue and quietly places the gifts inside the large paper bag she gave him a while ago. Himari simply shrugged her shoulders and did the same. After collecting all of the gifts, they left the penthouse and went to the parking lot. Himari gave him an address, and Jin, surprisingly, did not complain.
They arrive at Himari's beach house. When they arrived, Himari quickly removed her high heels and stepped out of the car. She freely runs along the beach, feeling the sand beneath her feet. The wind is gently blowing, so Himari unties her hair before turning around to face Jin.
"Come on, Jin! Remove your coat and your shoes too!"
"Being childish and crazy is not my style."
"Oh, come on. Relax a bit, Jin. The weather today feels so nice! We can also build a sandcastle if you like."
"Tch."
"Don't be like that, Jin. Do you want me to help you undress?" Himari innocently asked.
"You are really shameless, Himari."
"Nah. You are just too preserved and uptight." Himari said as she stands next to him. "Come on, Jin. Indulge me. It is supposed to be my birthday, right? You should make your girlfriend happy today."
"My answer is no that is final."
"Fine, fine. Then leave me now and let me enjoy the beach all by myself."
"What?"
"You can leave if you want. I know for a fact that you do not want to follow my requests today. And besides, today is not really my birthday. But thanks for the ride though."
"Today is not your birthday?"
"Yeah. But keep it a secret to others, okay? I do not want to waste their efforts for giving me a surprise party."
"Then the information written on your profile are all incorrect?"
"Who knows?" Himari mischievously smiled. "Where is the fun in that if I tell you everything, right?"
No wonder Himari cannot remember anything today. She appeared surprised earlier when the other managers greeted her. She was so quick to hide her emotions earlier that most of them did not question her surprise. They all assumed that Himari simply forgot her birthday due to work.
Jin examines Himari's face and attempts to study her expression. She is still smiling as usual, but Jin believes he can see a few of her true emotions by simply staring into her eyes. But he does not want to get his hopes up for this one. Himari remains unpredictable, and Jin does not want to appear like a clown in front of her due to his assumptions.
"You're staring." Himari stated.
"I know." Jin answered.
"Oh. Then did I finally succeed in capturing your heart?"
"That's so full of nonsense."
Himari chuckles before jumping on him, catching him off guard. Fortunately, he quickly regains his balance and holds Himari by her waist. Before he could scold her, Himari spoke to him.
"To be honest, you are my type." Himari said in a whispering voice. "I just don't like your reserved personality. But that's fine. I am still enjoying my time with you."
Then Himari lifts her head to look at Jin.
"What about you? Who is your type?"
"You. But I hate your unpredictable moves and lunatic tendencies. I also hate your reckless behavior and weird thinking."
"You are really a blunt person."
Jin is so focused on Himari that he does not realize his arms are firmly wrapped around her slim waist and her fingers are now playing with his hair. His eyes are now drawn to her plump lips. Himari noticed his stares and moves her lips to make a smile.
Then she gets closer to Jin, until their lips are just a few inches apart. This time, Jin did not move or try to push Himari away. He remains in his position and tightens his grip on her waist. Without wasting any more time, Jin lowers his head to kiss her lips.
Jin notices the surprise on Himari's body, but she quickly relaxes and wraps her arms around his neck. Instead of pushing him away, she begins responding to his kiss. It was slow and sensuous. Jin moves away from her lips, only to kiss her again. This time, he kisses aggressively. His other hand is resting on her nape, allowing him to easily guide her to his lips. Himari accepts his kisses and occasionally fights him for dominance.
When their lips finally separate and Jin relaxes his grip on her, Himari melts into his arm and rests her body on his. Neither of them spoke. They are enjoying the warmth of each other's bodies and the peaceful silence that surrounds them.
