Blair took off her glasses. She was still sitting in front of the laptop at her desk. Several times Blair glanced towards the door and occasionally checked the clock on the wall. "It's past midnight. He's not home yet. Even though I repeatedly told myself not to wait for him, I still kept waiting." Blair sighed as she leaned her tired back. She rubbed her growing belly and felt it getting heavier. "Oh, you kicked? You haven't slept, honey?" She felt the baby kick every now and then. There was a feeling of astonishment and amusement that coursed through Blair's stomach every time the sensation of the kick came. "Are you also waiting for him to come home?" Blair spoke to the baby in her stomach. "At a time like this, I like him. However, when I saw how he spoke, I didn't like him at all." Blair shook her head and once again let out a heavy sigh. *** Axel woke up in the morning. He sat up straight, holding his throbbing head. After briefly massaging his temples, he glanced around with slightly blurred vision. Someone squirmed and could be heard groaning softly. "Oh, you're awake?" "Blair? Where am I? Why are you here?" "Of course, you're home." Blair rubbed her sleepy eyes and tried to straighten her aching back from sleeping in a sitting position for too long. "Axel, are you okay?" "Blair, why am I home? Ouch!" Axel held his head which was still heavy and throbbing every time he moved. "You don't remember what happened? Last night a hired driver came to take you. He said you were drunk to the point of being unconscious. Because I don't have the strength to take you to the room, I asked the driver to lay you on the couch." "Is it true?" Axel stared at the blanket that was sagging in his lap. "Why can't I remember at all?" He noticed his whole body still wearing the same clothes when he visited Clarissa's apartment. Axel clenched his fists silently. He was making calculations with Clarissa. Axel didn't know what Clarissa had planned, but at least Axel felt relieved to be back home. "You must be tired. Let me prepare breakfast for you." Blair struggled to get up from the couch with great difficulty. Axel couldn't bear to look at her. He took Blair's hand before she left. "What is it?" asked Blair with a sleepy face. "You need something?" "Did you sit here all night waiting for me?" "Yes. You're delirious, and I'm worried that something bad will happen to you. I also can not bring you to the room. So, this is all I can do. Do you need anything? If you still feel dizzy or nauseous, I'll make some hangover soup." "No!" Axel exclaimed. "Don't do anything, please! You have to take care of your health and that of the baby. Give me 15 minutes." Axel shook his head. "No, just five minutes to bring me back to my senses. Let me prepare breakfast." Blair just stared at Axel with a confused look. She was a little surprised because this morning Axel looked so gentle and kind to her. Usually, in the morning, Axel would be angry and complain about whatever little things he could complain about. "Then," said Blair, "You prepare breakfast for yourself. Today, I have business outside. So maybe I'll leave early and have breakfast on the way." Blair also left Axel in the living room. She didn't know that Axel was trying to grab her behind her back, but he didn't. *** Blair has an appointment with Louis in his office to discuss work. That day was Blair's schedule to submit the synopsis she had made. "Not too bad," commented Louis after reading Blair's synopsis. "You've made much progress since the last synopsis you submitted to me." Blair looked sombre. "But I don't think that's decent enough, and you can't accept it, right?" Louis nodded honestly. He put the synopsis back on the table. "You still have a lot to learn. You could discuss this with the editors who are here. You can get new inputs and insights to develop ideas for your synopsis. That is if you don't mind." "Oh, Louis," Blair said gratefully. "I would be very grateful if you allow me to learn more from the professional people here. Of course, I would be happy to do that." "No need to be so serious, Blair. We still have plenty of time. How about your pregnancy? Does this job bother you?" "What do you mean, Louis? Of course not. I am very happy because I have a busy life and a new world." "I thought you would be happier if you could become a singer?" "Louis, are you making fun of me?" Blair made a face like she was disappointed and then smiled. "That was a mistake. I am so ashamed." "No, you really have a beautiful voice. Axel will make you a singer through his agency company. I heard he even developed a new area and made it an entertainment district?" Blair shook her head. "I prefer to be a writer even though you might laugh at me. It seems my writing talent doesn't get any better than this. But, I will try to do better." "Hmm, how about you accompany me to watching a movie today?" "Watching a movie?" "Well, watching a good movie can be one way to learn how to write a good synopsis. Trust me, you will learn many things, like how to pack a good story through good films." Blair looked enthusiastic, and she nodded in agreement. *** At the cinema, Katy and Andrew were busy collecting questionnaires from the audience who had just finished their show. Katy grumbled and put on a sombre face while picking up the questionnaires returned by the audience one by one. "Why do I have to do work like this?" Katy hissed at Andrew. "I came to this big city not to live in misery." "Don't complain so much, you bastard! I wouldn't have to suffer like this if it wasn't for your idea. Look!" he cried. "The wound on my face! How about leaving a permanent mark? That man beat me to the punch." "You're blaming me now? Wasn't it your idea to blackmail Blair? And it's your own fault. Why did you get caught? You are an idiot, Andrew." Andrew wanted to reply to Katy's harsh words but failed. In the distance, Andrew saw Blair walking with a man. They looked friendly and had just booked tickets for one of the movies at the cinema. He grinned. "Hey, isn't that our prey? Look, now she's got another rich guy. Hurry up and grab your camera, and we can take this chance to make some money back!" Katy recorded Blair and Louis coming to the cinema together. They talked intimately as they walked and occasionally laughed at each other. Katy is so sick of seeing Blair's happiness. After taking some photos, she left Andrew and deliberately walked closer to Blair instead. Andrew tried to prevent Katy, but the woman brushed off Andrew's hand. She still recklessly approached and greeted Blair. "Hey, Blair!" Blair was shocked. She had not expected to meet Katy there at all. Blair tried to escape, but Katy didn't want to be ignored. "You know her?" Louis asked. "No!" Blair stammered. "Hello, I'm Blair's friend!" said Katy to Louis. She held out her hand to Louis. "Did you guys come here to watch?" Katy glanced at Blair with a sly look. Katy even deliberately put her eyes on Blair's stomach, which looked bigger. Blair is no longer trying to cover up her pregnancy. Katy is getting fed up. 'Even when she's pregnant, she still manages to flirt with other men?' thought Katy. "Oh, so you guys are friends?" said Louis, who was no less surprised. All this time, Louis thought Blair didn't have a social life in this city. Because no one knows Blair's background and past. The fact that someone knew Blair made Louis even more interested. Katy leaned closer to Blair and whispered something in her ear. Blair paled for a moment, but she pulled herself away from Katy. "The movie is starting soon," Blair said. "We'd better get going." Blair tries to keep Louis away from Katy. Katy smiled sarcastically, watching Blair and Louis walk away. She felt she hit the jackpot right then and there. Katy went through the photos she had just got on her phone and sent them to someone.
