88| Worried but Embarrassed to Confess

Blair took a walk along the beach with her little daughter. She put Angelie in the stroller. Blair continued to tell stories while showing many things to Angelie.
"I'm sorry, Angelie. At this time, I'm really sorry for not being able to give you a father you can be proud of in front of your friends someday."
Blair Kneeled in front of the stroller while looking into the baby's clear eyes. Angelie smiled cheerfully while occasionally putting her hand to her mouth. Blair stretched out her forefinger to caress Angelie's cheek. The little baby grabbed Blair’s finger and held it tight.
"I really miss my mom at a time like this. What is she doing now? Is she well there? How hard it feels to have to raise a child alone without the support of a husband and family. I know how angry my mom was that night when she found out I was pregnant. I could understand if she kicked me out of the house. I really deserve it. Mom should have been angry and hated me."
"Oh, Angelie… I really miss your grandma. I also miss missing your father."
***
On the other hand, in the middle of the forest, Axel kept contemplating and tiring himself out by running along the climbing route. He sat alone on the ridge, watching the expanse of trees in the distance.
Axel secretly still keeps his wedding ring with Blair. He wore the wedding ring as a pendant around his neck. Axel rubbed the wedding ring and again considered what he should do.
***
Very early in the morning, Blair was already up. Her morning routine starts with preparing breakfast and bathing the baby. At that time, Blair heard her doorbell ring.
After laying Angelie on the bed, Blair rushed to the ground floor to open the door.
Smile Blair vanished when she saw Clarissa appear in front of her house.
"Hi, Blair. Sorry I came so suddenly." Clarissa wore dark glasses covering her face.
"I haven't seen you in a long time," replied Blair. "How are you? Oh, come in first."
Blair opened the door wide and allowed Clarissa to enter. Moment Blair about to walk into the living room, Clarissa clasped Blair’s hand and held them there.
Blair startled. "Why?"
"Forgive me, Blair!" Clarissa took off her glasses. The woman's eyes were swollen.
"Clarissa? Are you hurt?"
Reflex, Blair stretched out her hand, trying to examine the girl's eyes. Clarissa brushed aside and dodged.
"Sorry, I do not-"
"It doesn't matter, Blair. It's just a small wound due to my mistake." Clarissa looked down in embarrassment. "Even though it took a very long time to be able to come here and say sorry to you," Clarissa said regretfully.
"Why are you apologizing?"
Clarissa straightened up. Although her face was still downcast, she really looked so sorry.
"It took months to admit my mistakes and let my ego down. Now I really regret it. Forgive me. I am truly sorry for my attitude and behaviour in the past."
Blair heard Angelie cry. She rushed into the room to look at the baby. Clarissa was still patiently waiting in the living room to arrive Blair back while holding the cute baby.
Clarissa was utterly amazed to see the little girl. "Look how much she looks like her father. You really are a beautiful little girl."
"Yes, I have to bond with Axel for the rest of my life. Every time I look at Angelie, I always think of him. This may also be the punishment I have to accept for disappointing my mother in the past.
"No, Blair…" Clarissa snapped. "You can't blame yourself. I came here truly to confess my past mistakes. Your divorce… it was all my fault."
"What do you mean, Clarissa?" Blair still needs to understand. While holding Angelie, Blair tries to understand the purpose of Clarissa's arrival.
Clarissa, previously sitting on the sofa, suddenly knelt in front Blair. "Really forgive me. The rumours about your past pregnancy with Andrew White were all my doing. I paid Andrew to send evidence about your relationship to the media."
Blair stunned. She already knew that all of it was Andrew's doing. But Blair didn't think Clarissa had a hand in it. Blair Andrew thought deliberately spreading evidence of his close relationship in the past was just for money.
"I know it's not worth forgiving, Blair. But I really regret it. Maybe even I will suffer more if I do not admit all my mistakes to you. I've accepted the consequences. I have a boyfriend who is toxic and a jerk. He was always rude and beat me. He even called me a whore… I thought of you. How you have suffered because of my past actions."
Blair takes a deep breath. She looked up to hold back the tears. She thought back to how hurt and hurt she was when Axel decided to divorce her after the rumours about their relationship started circulating Blair and Andrew in the past.
"All is past," Blair said graciously. "There's nothing to talk about anymore. Nothing to fix. It is all over."
"No, Blair." Clarissa shook her head. "You still have a chance to improve your future with Axel. He's a nice guy. I know you still love Axel. I know you still need him."
"That's not true, Clarissa. I can support myself and my daughter without his help, though. He has deceived and used me. He married me only to get his parent's inheritance."
"If that was Axel's goal, why did he leave all his wealth and go into exile? He really gave up all his possessions to make amends. You know that too. Axel has been looking for you to fulfil his father's last wish for years. But I'm also sure that during that search, he sincerely loves you."
"Enough, Clarissa. I want to avoid getting involved with the past. I want to live my future life quietly with my daughter. I have forgiven all your mistakes, and please stop. Just get here. Don't come to see me again. Please go."
Clarissa was about to leave but didn't want to give up. "Please, one last time, hear me, Blair. Right now, Axel is in trouble."
Initially Blair, not care. When she heard that Axel was in trouble, she finally wanted to know.
"What do you mean, Clarissa?"
"Axel isolates himself in the forest by saving wild animals. He really wrestles with his profession as a veterinarian. But some time ago I heard from Marco that Axel had an accident in the forest. He refused to be evacuated and refused to be taken to the city. At this rate, he will lose his life."
Blair shook her head and came to her senses. "Sorry, Clarissa. I don't care anymore and have nothing to do with Axel. Please leave my house."
Blair lies. After closing the door, her legs felt so weak and helpless. She hugged Angelie tightly.
"Your father is in critical condition? What if he doesn't survive? You won't have a chance to see his face. Angelie, what should I do?"
During that day, Blair kept getting upset. She couldn't even focus on her work. In the afternoon, when Carlos came to deliver Angelie's needs, Carlos saw Blair daydreaming.
"Ma’am, are you okay?" said Carlos.
Blair startled. She didn't even realize that Carlos was already holding Angelie.
"Carlos? What about my daughter?" Angelie was seen crying hard in Carlos' arms.
"What are you thinking, ma’am? You didn't realize that your daughter fell off the bed?"
Blair is so nervous. She suddenly cried silently. Blair took Angelie from Carlos's arms and comforted the little baby.
"I came to deliver Miss Angelie's needs. I've looked for you everywhere but can't find you. I instead heard Angelie crying loudly. Sorry if I was presumptuous to check into the room. I saw that Miss Angelie had fallen from her bed."
"I'm sorry… I'm sorry!" Blair really looks like a daze.
"If you feel tired, let me look after Miss Angelie for some time. Or should I call a part-time nanny to look after her? You can rest and take a few days off.
“Carlos,” said Blair in the end. "I heard Axel is hurt. How is it now?"
Carlos was surprised when he heard the question. Finally, he began to understand and follow the play that had been planned by the people around Blair Dan Axel.
"Yes, as you know. Mr Axel is so stubborn. Currently, he is only getting makeshift treatment in the pack."
"You can tell Axel to stop being so childish," she pleaded.
"I have tried, ma’am. But as you know. Mr Axel has always been so stubborn. Why don't you try it yourself?"
Blair is nervous and scared. "I can't see him anymore."
"Why?"
"This is all my fault. I had turned him down the day Angelie was born. I kicked him out and asked him to stay away from us forever. I've been so mean to him."
