76| Picking Up My Wife

"I'm being cold to you?" asked Louis, frowning.
"Yes!" Reply Blair.
"Leave your work there and go! I don't understand you! We'll talk about that later." Blair imitated how Louis spoke the last time they saw each other in his office.
"I act like that?" asked Louis pretending to forget.
"Yes. You know how weird that feels?"
Louis laughed in amusement at Blair's behavior, who tried to imitate his speaking style. Then they both laughed together.
***
Axel returns home empty-handed after his attempts to find Blair are futile.
Returning home with nothing made him even more frustrated. Axel kept pacing back and forth in his house like a madman, his clothes still soaking wet.
"Where is she going? I can't even feel her presence. I've been trying to track her down by smell but can't find her. As if someone had erased her tracks."
***
Louis brought two cups of hot tea into the living room. Only when he placed the cup on the table did Louis realize that Blair had fallen asleep on the sofa.
Louis took blankets and pillows. He adjusted Blair's sleeping position and made her comfortable. Louis also tucked Blair in.
Seeing Blair sleeping so soundly, Louis couldn't take his eyes off her. After tucking Blair in, suddenly Louis' hand reached out and touched Blair's face gently.
"I don't know what to make of you, Blair?"
***
Axel was still pacing frantically in his house. He had contacted Marco and Carlos and dispatched them to find Blair.
The house phone rings. Axel ran and grabbed the receiver.
"Hello? Blair?"
"No, it's me. Axel, I thought you might be worried. That's why I contacted you. Blair is here with me."
"No!" Louis continued. "She just fell asleep and can't talk on the phone."
Axel gripped the receiver so tightly that he wanted to crush it. He also held his jaws from chattering.
"Please tell Blair to wait there. I'll pick her up," Axel hissed.
"No need," said Louis. "When she wakes up, I will drive her home. Besides, I'm done thinking and making a decision. From now on, I decide to steal Blair from you."
"What do you mean, Louis? Don't do anything to my wife!" shouted Axel. "What kind of nonsense are you saying?"
"You don't have to pretend anymore, Axel. I already know everything. Your marriage is just a fake marriage. Marriage on paper."
Axel screamed angrily. "Don't talk nonsense!" shouted Axel. "Blair is my wife. She is pregnant and carrying my child. She will become Luna and give birth to Alpha, the heir to the Barney Pack."
"No, Axel!" answered Louis. "Blair is not your lawful wife. I was determined to take Blair from you. I don't care if she's pregnant or whose child is it? As long as Blair will be mine, then the baby will also be mine."
***
Blair woke up to the smell of delicious cooking. She sat up, pulled back the blankets, and glanced toward the kitchen. She saw Louis was cooking.
"Are you awake?" greeted Louis with a big smile.
"Well, I must have fallen asleep. What are you doing?"
"I made fish soup for you. I think omega 3 is good for the health of pregnant women."
Louis' apartment doorbell rings.
They both turned toward the door.
"There is a guest?" Blair said. "Are you waiting for someone?"
He shook his head. He left his cooking and headed for the door.
As soon as the door opened, Louis was confronted by Axel. Axel's face was red, and he was out of breath.
"I told you don't need to come," Louis greeted casually.
"Blair! Get out and let's get out of here!" shouted Axel from the front door.
Blair was surprised to hear Axel's voice.
Louis didn't like Axel's attitude of shouting and snapping at Blair like that. Louis blocks Axel's steps from entering his house.
"Blair!" Axel shouted even louder. "Hurry out!"
Because Blair didn't show up, Axel pushed Louis and barged in.
Blair was still unmoved. She pretended to ignore Axel and continued to sit on the sofa quietly.
Axel came in and took Blair's hand roughly. "Hurry up, and let's get out of here!"
Blair took her hand from Axel's grip.
Both Axel and Louis were shocked by Blair's attitude. After flashing an angry face at Axel, Blair turned to Louis and smiled kindly.
"Louis, I have to go. Sorry to bother you, and thank you for the warm welcome here."
"Come on, quickly!" hissed Axel impatiently.
He retook Blair's hand and walked past Louis without further ado.
Louis clenched his fists tightly as he watched them leave.
On their way back home, they both didnt spoke. Both Blair and Axel were speechless.
Blair even went down first without further ado. She got out of the car and entered her room on purpose to avoid Axel.
Axel likes being addressed. He watched Blair's back as she climbed the stairs and started to follow her to the second floor.
"Blair!" Axel called while chasing her into the room.
Axel saw Blair curled up on the bed and covering herself with the blanket.
"Blair, I know you hear me! You're so unpredictable, but this is too much! How did you fall asleep there? How did you get to Louis' house? Are you out of your mind? Are you crazy?"
Axel kept screaming, expressing all his annoyance and anger. Meanwhile, Blair was still hiding under her blanket.
"Blair! Blair! Can you hear me? Blair!" Axel snapped even louder.
Because he kept being ignored, Axel grew even more furious. He pulled back the blanket covering Blair's body and saw the girl close his eyes and shiver.
"Blair?" Axel's voice softened and sounded more worried.
Axel saw Blair's pale face. He reached out and touched the girl's forehead.
"You have a fever?"
Axel immediately ran to the kitchen. He took warm water and a towel to compress Blair, who had a fever.
"You're pregnant, so you can't take medicine carelessly. I have to do something to make your fever go down."
That night, Axel was busy looking after Blair. He compressed Blair's feverish body with warm water and changed into more comfortable clothes. Axel really took care of her.
"I'm sorry," Axel whispered regretfully. "This is all my fault."
***
Blair awakens in the morning. She felt her body was fresher. But she felt something was off.
Blair looked down at her hands. Axel was curled up beside her bed, holding Blair's hand.
Blair pretended to be asleep again.
A few moments later, Axel wakes up and checks on Blair.
"Your fever has gone down. "
Axel stood up to clean up the water and towel he used last night to compress Blair, then left the girl's room.
Blair opened her eyes and watched Axel leave silently.
"If only every day you were nice to me like that."
