66| I am Jealous

Blair left the restaurant. She was standing on the side of the road, waiting for a taxi. A black car drove slowly until it stopped right in front of Blair.
The driver opened the car window.
Curious, Blair bent slightly to see who it was.
"Get on!"
"Axel?" Blair was completely shocked and panicked.
'Does Axel know what I'm doing here? Was the person stalking me from home really Axel's errand? This is too surprising to be a coincidence.' Blair was preoccupied with her own thoughts.
"Why are you stupefied and still standing there? You're pregnant, and don't be too tired. Hurry up, and we'll go home together."
'It would be weirder and more suspicious if I refused, right?'
Cautiously and nervously, Blair got into the car. She sat still and just stared straight ahead. Axel brought his lips to Blair's face. The girl closed her eyes and frowned in her seat.
"What is it? You have to wear a seat belt!" Axel exclaimed.
Blair was so embarrassed. She had misunderstood. Blair cleared her throat and sat back down in silence.
On the way, Blair waited until Axel spoke first.
Fifteen minutes passed.
"What are you doing here?" asked Blair and Axel in common. Because they both can't stand to wait for each other.
"You answer first!" Again Axel and Blair answered together.
The awkward situation made them really uncomfortable.
While driving, Axel finally told me first.
"I have an area revitalization project around here. This project will be our company's big project. Because of that, I came here to check directly the conditions on the ground. And you? What are you doing here? This place is far from the city and our beach house area."
Blair bit her lip slowly before answering. "I'm working too!"
"Work?"
"I'm doing research," Blair replied quickly. "I need accurate data to write a synopsis that I must submit to the publisher this week."
"Isn't this too much? Why did Louis hire you for things that are too heavy like this? What if your health and that of the baby are compromised?"
"I'm fine, Axel. You don't need to worry," said Blair quickly. "Besides, I'm happy to do it. This is the job I used to really dream of."
"You can ask someone to do it. Even you can ask for my help. I can send Carlos or Marco to escort you if I'm busy."
"Don't overdo it," Blair said.
"Have you had lunch?" Axel glanced at Blair.
Blair had just come out of a fast food restaurant. But she ate nothing but orange juice, which she barely touched.
"Since you are silent, then you must follow me! We will have lunch together. My work is done, and I can go home early."
While on their way, Axel's cell phone rang. He felt disturbed. Whenever he is alone with Blair and want quality time, someone always interrupts and calls him. Be it work or other matters.
"I think it's urgent," Blair said. "Pull over and answer the call."
Axel glanced at the screen of his phone. He saw his Uncle's name appear on it. Axel thought something really important had happened.
"Axel, can you come to the hospital now?"
"Is it really that urgent? It so happened that I was on the road, and the distance to the hospital was only five minutes away. I will stop by there."
"Is your uncle sick?" she asked.
"No! I don't think my Uncle is sick. He is a doctor. He even has the biggest hospital in the city. I don't know, what happened? We just need to come over there to check it out."
Axel doesn't tell Blair the truth. Axel had discussed Blair's health condition and pregnancy with his Uncle some time ago. He also conveyed Blair's condition, which almost had a miscarriage, to his Uncle.
Axel plans to move Blair's health check-up from the clinic to his Uncle's hospital. It's just that Axel still needs to have time to discuss it with Blair. Because Axel was worried that Blair would feel uncomfortable and reject it.
"Your Uncle is a doctor? I thought he was a businessman."
"Doctor and businessman. He has several branch hospitals and other major healthcare facilities in the country."
They arrived at the hospital exactly five minutes later.
"I'll be waiting here," Blair said. "Go and meet your uncle."
"I can't leave you here alone. I really feel bad for you."
"No need to be so serious. There's still plenty of time for lunch. Go and meet your Uncle. I'm going to take a short walk around the park."
"If you need anything, meet me in the director's office. You can ask the receptionist. They will escort you."
Blair just nodded.
Axel meets his Uncle. Something happened that was completely beyond Axel's expectations.
"Uncle, did you call me because of Blair's medical results?"
"Calm down, Axel. You don't have to worry about Blair's health. Your wife and pregnancy are fine. Actually, I called you here because of something else."
"What is it, Uncle?"
Outside, Blair was fed up with having to wait. She also went to the director's room to check on Axel.
When Blair exited the elevator, she accidentally saw Axel leaving one room and heading to another.
"Axel?" Blair quietly followed suit.
Blair wants to call Axel but is afraid of disturbing the peace of the hospital. So, she could only follow Axel from a distance.
Blair saw Axel turn down an alley.
"Why did he go to the infirmary?"
Blair leaned over and saw the nameplate written on the infirmary door.
"Miss Jordan?" Blair frowned. "I thought Axel was going to see his uncle?"
The door to the treatment room was slightly ajar. Just as Blair was about to knock, she noticed something unpleasant. She shut her mouth tightly and took a few steps back.
Blair's heart was pounding. A feeling of pain and sadness suddenly appeared in her chest.
"What about me?"
With full clarity, Blair saw Clarissa lying in the nursing bed. She clings to Axel, and they kiss.
"What are they doing? Why should I be so agitated watching the two of them kiss? Don't I have any relationship with Axel?"
"You are here?" said the Uncle. "Why don't you come in?"
Blair was still outside the infirmary. The Uncle went in first, and Blair followed behind.
Axel broke away from Clarissa's embrace.
As soon as the Uncle entered, Axel immediately looked away angrily. Clarissa lay back on the bed and pretended to look like she was in pain.
The moment Blair stepped into the infirmary, Celine Barney came rushing in.
"Clarissa! Oh, dear. What's wrong with you? I got word you were rushed to the hospital."
Celine got rid of Blair, who was considered in her way.
Blair almost fell over backward. Axel supported the girl. She immediately moved away from the people crowding around Clarissa.
"I'm fine, Aunt." Clarissa glanced at Blair. "Oh, you're here too?"
"Quickly tell me what happened to Clarissa? How did she get sent to the hospital?" Celine asked her brother-in-law.
"Calm down, Celine. She is fine. Clarissa just needs to rest for a few days."
Clarissa was still glancing sarcastically at Blair. "You were waiting outside? Since when?"
"What?" Blair was nervous. "No! I was walking in the park because we were going to lunch. I didn't even know you were being treated here."
"Come on, don't talk too much!" cut Celine. She looked displeased with Blair's appearance there.
"Axel, you have to come here often and keep Clarissa company. She was alone and had no one at home. Oh, my poor little girl!" Celine exclaimed while stroking Clarissa's cheek gently.
Axel took Blair's hand and led her out of the treatment room. They will leave the hospital. The Uncle escorted Axel and Blair to the front lobby.
"Uncle," Axel called. "Is Clarissa really sick?"
"What do you mean, Axel? You think she's faking and coming here just for the holidays?"
"That's not what I mean."
Axel was a little annoyed because Clarissa's attitude was so selfish. She even kissed Axel forcefully. Axel is worried that Blair will see them and misunderstand them.
After leaving the infirmary to the front lobby, Blair was still speechless. She just stood beside Axel, who was chatting with his Uncle.
"Clarissa has intestinal inflammation. It's more psychosomatic. I guess she's been going through a lot of stress lately. Would you like to stay a little longer?" asked the Uncle to Axel.
Axel is so wrong. He alternated glances between his Uncle and Blair.
"I have to walk Blair back home."
Before leaving, the Uncle gave a message to Blair. "By the way, Blair. Clarissa has been part of our family for a long time. I called Axel earlier to tell him about her condition. Currently, Clarissa's parents are abroad. She was completely alone in her house. So please don't misunderstand."
"It's okay," Blair said calmly. "I'm fine and can understand Clarissa's situation."
"Okay, I'll go back to the office first." The Uncle left.
Axel was about to speak, but Blair was already ahead.
"Stay here, Axel. I can go home by taxi."
"What do you mean, Blair?" Axel grabbed the girl's hand and held it by the side.
"She needed a friend. You're the only friend Clarissa can count on. While I'm just a stranger in your life. Get your business done. I will go home and rest at home."
Axel held Blair's hand, but Blair tried to brush it off. Before leaving, she looked back at Axel and said.
"Next time, if you want to kiss, close the door so outsiders can't see you."
"What?" shrieked Axel.
