Chapter 9 Amelia's anger (turns to Richard doubt Amelia)
When they arrive, her cousins quickly got out of the car and went home, leaving Brian behind to accompany her. They got home at 6 pm, and Patresiah's mom was so anger so Brian didn't leave her and he help her explain. "Why are you only getting here now? Do you know how long I've been waiting here almost 2h?" Her mom said angrily. "Mom, I'm sorry. I just completely forgot because we were having so much fun. I didn't even remember your reminders," she explained to her mom. "That's the problem with you, Patresiah. Go inside. From now on, I don't want you going out with them anymore. You're still new here, and you're already acting like this," her mom said angrily. "But Tita, it's not her fault. I was the one who encouraged her to come along," Brian said. "Be quiet, Brian. I told you earlier to go home before it got dark. Go home now! , I'm in a bad mood," her aunt said, so Brian went home. Patresiah and Zhian went to their room. Amelia's mother told her not to scold her child in front of them because she's not a kid anymore, but Amelia got angry and talked back to her mama. "Ayw apil-apil ma Kay dli ikw iyng inahan, geh buhat nko say dapat ayw ko sawaya!" She said that and then went to her room. When she got to her room, Patresiah was crying, and her dad was trying to calm her down. "Calm that child well! Look what your excessive love has done, she's so stubborn!" Patresiah said angrily. "Can you just stop? Why are you so angry? She got home safely, and it's not even 7 o'clock yet!" her husband angrily asked. "So what you're saying is that I'm wrong? I'm the one who's wrong, and she's the one who's right? Is that it?" Amelia asked her husband angrily. "No, just don't scold your child in front of other people. She's not a baby anymore, she's grown up! If you're angry, talk to her privately," her husband replied. "I don't care! Wish I just left her at New Zealand so They would all perish together, including the maids." her mother shouted angrily, then threw a pillow at Patresiah. "What did you say? Repeat that! Did I hear you right?" her husband asked, then slapped her. Her parents were fighting while she continued to cry, repeatedly pleading, "Stop it." "Honey, stop! Stop crying! " He said to Patresiah, "You're a terrible mother. You haven't even considered what I said. We're leaving tomorrow, we're going back to New Zealand," her dad said. "And you! stay here, You're a terrible woman." Because of her husband's reaction, Amelia apologized and hugged him. "Please don't leave," she begged him. "I was just carried away by anger, and I didn't know what I was saying." "Do you think I liked what you said earlier?" her husband asked. "Please, honey, I'm sorry," she pleaded while crying. "Apologize to your daughter, and if you ever hurt her again, everything I've given you, all the properties in your name, I'll transfer them to her," her husband said angrily. "Honey, I'm sorry. Mommy was just angry, but I didn't mean to hurt you. I was just worried," she told Patresiah. "Please" she added. "It's okay, Mom," Patresiah said while crying. "Daddy, I wanna sleep, can wake me up later, please?" she asked her dad and lay down on her bed, hugging Zhian who was already asleep after few minutes she put him to the bed. "Okay, honey, sleep well. I'll watch over you. I just need to take care of something. Go to sleep now," he said. "Thanks, Dad," she replied and drifted off to sleep. While she slept, her dad opened his laptop and started working. His wife approached him and asked, "What are you doing?" "Nothing," he replied. "Let me see, bhe," she said. "Why don't you just read some books on how to be a good mother?" he said. "You're so hurtful! Like you're the only one who knows how to be a good parent," she retorted. "Of course, she's my daughter. If you think she's just okay on that, then me? not!," he said. "That's painful, Be grateful that Patresiah is a good child." "Why? What do you mean?" Amelia asked. Her husband didn't answer. "Tell me!" she insisted, covering the laptop screen with a pillow. "Can you please leave? I'm busy. Your daughter's sleeping. Have some respect your so noisy," he said. "Why are you being like this to me?" Amelia asked. "What kind of father would be happy to hear his child's own mother saying those things?" he asked, taking the pillow and throwing it on the floor. "We're okay with our daughter, right now? Why are you still angry?" Amelia asked. "Nothin, but if anything happens to my child, remember this. I will make you suffer more than the pain I can feel ," he said. "Are you doubting me?" Amelia asked angrily. "Did I say that?" he asked back. "If you're guilty, get out of here. I didn't say I doubted you. I'm just reminding you, and those two words different are things." "It sounds like you're doubting me. Don't you trust me?" Amelia asked, her voice rising in anger. "Can you please lower your voice? Our daughter's asleep," Richard said. "It's always about her, her, her. Tell me the truth, are you doubting me?" "It sounds like you're doubting me. Don't you trust me?" Amelia asked, her voice rising in anger. "Can you please lower your voice? Our daughter's asleep," Richard said. "It's always about her, her, her. Tell me the truth, are you doubting me?" She said "Just be quiet. Get out. I don't want to talk with you. If you want our Christmas tomorrow to be happy, just be quiet," Richard said angrily. Amelia had no choice but to leave to avoid escalating the situation. Meanwhile, Richard quietly started moving the belongings he had given to Amelia to Patresiah, without explaining why. And his mind thinks that should pretend that I'm not doubting her for the safe of my daughter. After an hour Patresiah woke up, her dad was still busy with his laptop. She asked him a question while lying in bed. "Daddy, I'm awake. I thought you'd wake me up," she said. "Good morning, honey. Sorry, Daddy's still busy. Just relax there, I'm still working on something," he replied. "What is it, Daddy?" she asked. "It's nothing, sweetheart. It's for your future. You're still too young for me to tell you about it. You'll know when you're 18," he said. "But I'm big, Daddy," she said. "Yes, but you still need to mature in understanding important things. Just wait, when you turn 18, this will be my best surprise for you." "Okay, Daddy. I'll just go back to sleep. I'm not hungry anyway." "Wait a minute, come here, sweetheart. Come to do a face security confirmation," he said. "Face security? What's that for, Dad?" she asked. "It's a surprise, remember? Soon after you're 18th b-day you'll know, come quick I'm so I can finish it right away. Patresiah went over and looked into the scanner for the face security lock , then a word "face recognition confirmed" show's on the screen. After that, her dad said her back to her bed while he continued working to complete the process.
