CHAPTER X ♡
---
The next morning.....
At 5 AM, Jay and his family were already in the car heading to Jay’s new apartment. They woke up early to avoid the reporters waiting there.
"You can keep sleeping, my son. I’ll wake you up when we arrive," said Jay's father, noticing his son's sleepy eyes.
Hearing this, Jay quickly closed his eyes again because he was still tired. Driving the car was Manager Lee, who offered to help Jay move today.
Minutes passed before they realized...
They had arrived at Jay’s new home. Lee looked back and saw the tired faces of Jay and his family.
'They must be very exhausted. I hope you will always be happy in your life, Jay,' Lee thought to himself. He was well aware of Jay's struggles in building his career from the ground up.
"Jay... we’ve arrived now," Lee said while gently shaking Jay’s legs to wake him up.
"Ehmm..." Jay murmured, then opened his eyes.
"I'm sorry to trouble you, Lee. Thank you for helping me move," Jay said with a hoarse voice.
"It's no problem, Jay. I'm happy to help," Lee replied.
After unloading the items in his new apartment, Jay’s mother, father, and Manager Lee left since they had their own tasks for the day.
Only Jay remained in his new apartment. He walked around looking for his phone. He quickly checked his phone when he heard a notification for a new message.
Tring...Tring....
Sweety ♡
: Good morning, my handsome boyfriend! : Sorry, I just saw your message. Have you moved to the new place now?
Jay ♡ : Good morning to you too, my love! : No worries. I’ve moved into the new apartment now. I’m all alone here since my mom is with my dad for a business trip today. : I’m feeling lonely, baby...
Sweety ♡ : Aww.. don’t worry. I’ll come over if I can, but if not, maybe tomorrow. : Don’t forget to eat and rest well, okay?
Jay ♡ : Alright, baby. I’ll have breakfast soon. You should also eat before heading to work.
Sweety ♡ : I just finished breakfast. Now I’m heading to work. See you later, Jay. I love you!
Jay ♡ : Have a great day at work, my love. I love you more, baby!
The conversation ended there.
Jay fulfilled his promise to have breakfast that morning. He made do with whatever was available since he hadn’t had time to buy groceries for himself yet.

Meinny had an operation today, so she might come home a bit late.
There was a teenager named Adu who had a motorcycle accident at an intersection on his way to school. His injuries were quite severe and required extra care.
The operating room was prepared quickly by several nurses who would assist in this surgery.
Adu was laid on a sterilized bed.
---
POV Adu
Adu sped down the empty street, the night wind refreshing his face. He felt free riding his motorcycle, momentarily forgetting all his burdens. But that happiness was abruptly cut short when a car sped toward him from the opposite direction. There was no time to dodge. The collision hit him hard.
When Adu opened his eyes, everything was blurry. Pain surged through his body. Around him, the sound of sirens and a crowd confused him. He saw two paramedics rushing toward him, quickly loading him into an ambulance.
At the hospital, the doctor examined his injuries. "You have several broken bones and a head injury," the doctor said seriously. Adu felt scared, imagining a bleak future. He underwent surgery to treat the severe injuries to his leg, where the bones were broken due to the impact.
---
In the hospital, a tense atmosphere enveloped the operating room. Dr. Meinny, an experienced surgeon, prepared to perform a crucial procedure. On the operating table lay Adu, her patient who had suffered a horrific motorcycle accident. The pain and anxiety Adu felt reflected a difficult situation, but Dr. Meinny knew how important her task was.
"Adu, I will do my best to remove the glass shards from your body," Dr. Meinny said calmly, trying to provide reassurance. Adu nodded, though fear still haunted him.
Dr. Meinny began by reviewing Adu's medical records and previous examination results. She ensured that all necessary information was available. The medical team prepared the surgical instruments, and Dr. Meinny explained the procedure to her team, emphasizing the importance of coordination.
Once everything was ready, the anesthesiologist administered general anesthesia to Adu. Dr. Meinny monitored this process to ensure the patient was safe and comfortable before starting the surgery.
With the patient unconscious, Dr. Meinny made an incision in the area where the glass shards were located. She used a scalpel with precision to minimize damage to the surrounding tissue.
Once the incision was open, Dr. Meinny carefully explored the area to locate the glass shards. She used searching tools and an operating light to ensure good visibility.
With great care, she extracted the glass shards one by one, using surgical tweezers to avoid leaving behind any small pieces. Dr. Meinny also checked the surrounding tissue to ensure there was no more severe damage.
After all the shards were removed, Dr. Meinny conducted a thorough examination of the surgical site. She ensured there were no remaining scars or foreign objects.
Once satisfied that everything was safe, Dr. Meinny began to close the wound. She sutured it neatly to minimize scarring and ensure proper healing. Each stitch was done with precision to maintain blood flow in the area.
After the surgery, Dr. Meinny made sure Adu was safely transferred to the recovery room. She gave instructions to the nurses to monitor the patient’s condition and ensure that all vitals were well-observed.
Having just completed the surgery, Mei headed to her room to change into cleaner clothes in case she would need to care for another patient.
After cleaning herself up, Mei glanced at the wall clock, which showed it was 5:30 PM. "Wow... I can't believe my team and I have been in that room for over 2 hours," Mei muttered softly.
'I need to check on Adu again before heading home,' Mei thought, then left her room to go to where Adu was being treated.
Mei entered Adu's room. She saw that the young man had woken up from his anesthesia. Dr. Meinny explained the results of the surgery and the steps he needed to follow for recovery. She provided information about wound care and signs to watch out for.
After advising the young man, Mei left the room in an orderly manner. She headed to her room to pack her things to go home.
Just as she was about to step out of the room, her phone rang with an incoming call from someone. She quickly answered the call, seeing "Future Husband" displayed on her contact.
That name was given by Jay because he disliked seeing Mei's name as just her first name without something special.
"Hello," Jay said with a deep voice.
"Hi, Jay!" Mei replied with a smile.
"Where are you now, baby?" Jay asked.
"I'm still at the hospital," Mei answered honestly.
"The hospital? Why are you still there? Is there an emergency patient?" Jay asked curiously.
"Hmm... yes, I had a patient who needed surgery due to serious injuries. I just came out of his room and I’m ready to go home now," Mei explained in detail.
"Oh, poor baby. Can I come to your place now?" Jay asked in a sweet tone.
"Hahaha... of course. I’ll be there in about 10 minutes. When you arrive, just open the door. The password is my birth date 120525. Just wait inside," Mei replied while walking toward her car.
"Alright, baby. I’ll head over now," Jay said, and their call ended.
---
"Oh no... I forgot to tell him about Doppin being there. I need to drive a bit faster so he won’t be scared when he sees Doppin," Mei thought, tapping her forehead for forgetting to inform Jay about her dog.
---
When Jay arrived at his girlfriend’s apartment, he stepped out of the car wearing all black. Jay was dressed in a hoodie and wore a hat to disguise himself so that he wouldn’t be recognized by any fans that might be nearby. Before getting out, he put on a mask to cover half his face, leaving only his eyes visible so he could see where he was going.
Jay walked toward the elevator and pressed the button for his girlfriend's apartment.
---
Mei had now arrived at the basement of her apartment. She quickly ran out of the car to get to her room faster.
'Thank goodness they’re both alright,' Mei said, out of breath from running.
Bipp... the door opened as Mei unlocked it from the outside.
Mei saw that Doppin was resting his head on Jay’s lap while her handsome boyfriend was gently petting the dog’s head.
"Huff... thank goodness they’re okay," Mei said, panting from just running.
"Hey, baby. Why are you out of breath? Were you being chased by someone?" Jay asked, standing up from his seat to approach his girlfriend.
Seeing Jay come near, Mei closed the apartment door and hugged him tightly, catching her breath in his embrace. Jay gently stroked Mei’s neatly tied long hair.
"I was really worried... I was afraid Doppin would bite you since you two have only met once," Mei said, still holding onto Jay’s neck.
"We're fine, sweetheart. He’s used to me. I also fed him earlier," Jay replied, returning the embrace tightly while kissing Mei’s forehead gently.
They released each other, and Mei invited Jay to sit for a moment on the living room sofa while she cleaned herself up first.
