"Hubby, let's go now," said Meinny, who had just finished applying makeup to her smooth cheeks.
"Alright, baby. Hubby will drive today because Pak Boh asked for a day off," replied Jay.
"Really? Why did he ask for leave so suddenly?" Meinny asked curiously.
"Yes. His child is sick and keeps calling him to come home, so he has to meet his child right away," Jay answered matter-of-factly.
The two of them walked side by side down the stairs of their house toward the porch. Jay was already dressed in his office suit, while Meinny was wearing her favorite outfit, a doctor's coat.
Jay opened the door for his wife, and then he got into the driver's seat. He drove their car at a moderate speed since there were still a few minutes left before his wife had to go to work, and he took this opportunity to talk to her.
"Baby..." Jay called softly to Meinny, who was busy fixing her hair and lipstick.
"Yes, Hubby. Why?" Meinny replied, immediately turning her head to look at him.
"Hmm... could you keep your distance from that man from yesterday?" Jay asked, a little hesitant, but he felt he had to express his feelings.
"Emm... ohh... he's an intern at the hospital, Hubby. I'm the one guiding him," Meinny answered after remembering who the man Jay was referring to.
"Even so, I don't like it when you spend too much time with him," Jay replied, a little more firmly.
"Okay. I'll try," Meinny sighed softly.
"Are you bothered by it?" Jay asked, his tone probing.
"No, Hubby. It's just that I feel sorry for him," Meinny answered.
"Whatever the reason, you can't be too close to him. I don't like it," Jay said firmly.
Before they knew it, the luxury car was parked in front of the hospital where Meinny worked. Their conversation stopped there. Meinny kissed her husband's hand before getting out of the car, and Jay gave her a soft kiss on the forehead.
"I'll pick you up later. Wait for me," Jay said.
"Okay. I'll wait for you," Meinny replied before heading to her office.

FLASHBACK ON
Jay had just arrived at the hospital where his wife worked. He had come with Pak Boh, their driver, but he asked Pak Boh to wait at the hospital lobby since it wasn't yet time for Meinny to finish work.
Jay hurried down the hospital corridor toward his wife's office, feeling eager because he missed his beautiful wife. After just a day apart, Jay already longed to see her, especially since his upcoming office work might require him to travel out of Korea. He didn't want to think about that right now.
As he reached the corridor outside her office, Jay saw his beautiful wife laughing with a man who wore the same outfit as her, except he wasn't wearing a suit.
'Who is he? Ugh... why is my wife laughing so freely in front of another man?' Jay muttered, feeling upset.
After standing there for about five minutes, trying to stay hidden, Jay felt his blood boiling as he saw the man with glasses touch his wife's shoulder.
Without wasting any more time, Jay quickly ran toward them and swatted the man's hand away with a sharp motion.
Meinny and the man immediately looked at Jay, confused.
"Hubby," Meinny murmured softly.
"Don't touch my wife!" Jay said without paying attention to his wife's words. He could tell the man in front of them had feelings for his wife.
"I'm sorry, Sir. I didn't mean to touch your wife," the man stammered, his voice trembling from Jay's sharp gaze.
"Hubby, don't make him scared. He's a new intern here at the hospital," Meinny said, sensing the tension in the air.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Lion. Once again, I apologize if I disturbed your wife, Sir," the man said, bowing slightly.
"At least you're aware of your place," Jay muttered, his voice still loud enough for both Meinny and Lion to hear.
Feeling guilty, Meinny pinched her husband's waist secretly and smiled awkwardly at Lion.
"It's fine, Lion. You can go now since your shift is over," Meinny said, then pulled her husband into her office.
"What's wrong with you?" Meinny asked as she sat down in her favorite chair, staring at Jay.
Jay walked up to her, gently lifting her petite body and placing it on her desk.
He kissed her lips softly and hugged her tightly, resting his face on her neck and inhaling her scent deeply.
"Hubby..." Meinny whined in a sweet voice.
"Hubby doesn't like you being too close to him, baby," Jay replied honestly.
"But he's new, so I have to guide him so he doesn't get confused," Meinny said, returning her husband's embrace.
"I think he likes you," Jay said, looking at his wife's beautiful face.
"Ugh... he doesn't like me. You're just imagining things," Meinny replied quickly, feeling uncomfortable with her husband's words.
"Baby, I'm a man, and I know what that look meant," Jay replied, gently caressing Meinny's cheek.
"Ugh... Hubby, don't scare me. I just see him as my junior," Meinny said, trying to brush it off.
"Then you have to keep your distance from him, understand, my love?" Jay said softly, kissing her lips a few times.
Meinny nodded and happily returned her husband's kiss before they both headed home.

FLASHBACK OFF
Meinny, who had just arrived at the hospital, hurried to her office because she had several patients to attend to that day.
On her way to her office, she passed by some of her colleagues. They greeted each other and exchanged sweet smiles.
This is where Meinny is now. In her office. The woman is focused on her laptop while occasionally flipping through a note in her hand.
Knock... knock... knock...
Someone knocked on her office door from the outside. Since the door is made of glass, she could easily see who was knocking.
"Come in," she said.
The person entered, carrying a child in his arms. Meinny continued her work diligently. She examined the child and gave a prescription for the medicine that needed to be taken.
It was 5 PM, and Meinny’s workday was finally over. She walked toward the front of the hospital to wait for her husband to pick her up.
While waiting, she saw Lion walking toward her. She felt a bit uncomfortable meeting the man because of her husband's words the previous day. However, she tried to remain professional and friendly.
"Hi, Dr. Meinny," Lion greeted as he stood in front of her.
"Hi, Lion. Don’t be so formal when addressing me. Just call me by my name after work hours," Meinny responded.
"Okay. M...Meinny," Lion replied hesitantly.
They both remained silent after the conversation.
"Are you waiting for your husband to pick you up?" Lion asked, breaking the silence between them.
"Yes, I’m waiting for him. But I think he might be a little late because of work at the office," Meinny answered matter-of-factly.
"Oh, I’m also waiting for my taxi. If my car was already fixed, I would gladly drive you home," Lion said as if forgetting that the beautiful doctor in front of him already had a husband.
"Hehe... there’s no need for that, Lion. My husband will get mad at you again," Meinny replied, feeling a little uncomfortable with the young man standing in front of her. She hoped her husband would arrive soon.
"Hrmm... Meinny, may I ask you something?" Lion asked softly, seeming unsure about his question.
"Sure, if I can answer it, I will," Meinny replied.
"When did you marry your husband? Sorry if that’s disturbing," Lion asked.
"Ouh..." Meinny smiled and began telling Lion about how she met Jay sweetly.
After sharing a bit with Lion, suddenly a patient bumped hard into Meinny’s shoulder, causing her balance to waver. She almost fell, but Lion caught her. Now, they were in a position that looked like a couple hugging each other affectionately.
At that moment, Jay arrived at the hospital where his wife worked. Seeing the scene, he slammed his car’s steering wheel in frustration.
Meinny, realizing the situation she was in with Lion, immediately pulled herself away from his embrace. She looked around and saw her husband’s car parked in front of them.
"Shit! My hubby must have seen that," Meinny thought to herself. She felt guilty for not keeping her distance from the man in front of her, but the incident wasn’t entirely her fault, as someone had pushed her.
Since Meinny felt that her husband wouldn’t get out of the car to approach her, she hurriedly left Lion and got into her husband's car.
She noticed Jay was focused on the road and hadn’t looked at her since she entered the car. After closing the door, Jay immediately drove the car fast, making Meinny afraid that they might get into an accident.
"Hubby... could you drive slower?" Meinny said in a trembling voice.
"H...hubby," she said again when her husband didn’t respond to her request.
"Sit and be quiet!" Jay snapped sternly.
Meinny, receiving that harsh reprimand, fell silent and turned her face toward the car window to hide the tears flowing from her eyes.
She played with the hem of her shirt to calm her fear.
Jay remained silent and focused on driving. His emotions were at their peak after seeing his beloved wife being embraced by another man.
They arrived home safely, even though Jay had driven at full speed. Meinny, now calm, was startled by her husband's behavior.
Jay opened the car door where Meinny was sitting, then carried her roughly and instructed the security to park the car in the garage.
"Hubby... you misunderstood. I’m not like what you saw earlier."
"Silence, Meinny!" Jay snapped and continued walking up the stairs.
Jay carried his wife into their bedroom and placed her into the bathtub. He took off all her clothes and turned on the shower. He bathed her thoroughly, repeatedly scrubbing her body until he was satisfied.
At this moment, he was still scrubbing his wife’s body, paying no attention to Meinny’s shivering complaints.Download Novelah App
